Government says it remains committed to upholding the tenets of democracy and rule of law.
Home Affairs and Internal Security Minister JACK MWIIMBU says government will not be like the previous administration that violated the rights of citizens.
Mr. MWIIMBU says government has demonstrated that there is democratic space by allowing political parties to hold public rallies.
Speaking during a Press Briefing in Lusaka today, Mr. MWIIMBU said government will continue to give opposition political parties democratic space as long as security is guaranteed.
Meanwhile, Mr, MWIIMBU has disclosed that investigations are still going on in the abduction of Petauke Central Member of Parliament EMMANUEL BANDA and that anyone who will be found wanting will be brought to book.
He has challenged Lawyer SAKWIBA SIKOTA to produce a statement where his client named his abductors.
Mr. MWIIMBU said as far the police are concerned; no one was named as abductors in a statement that was recorded from Mr. BANDA.
