I use a dremel for cold working glass, which is done with lots of water. I use one of these: "Dremel 225 Flex-shaft - Multi-Purpose Flexible Shaft Extension for Dremel Rotary Multitools". You can hang the Dremel up and use the flex shaft with the saw on the end and not worry about dropping the dremel into salt water and causing fires, power outages, etc.! ;) It might also be more comfortable as the flex-shaft feels more like using a pen rather than having to balance the whole dremel when working on something small. Having sustained the odd stupid injury when coldworking, please use a wood/perspex block to push the frag against the saw blade rather than your finger! You made me very nervous! Great video though! Look forward to seeing it when it has encrusted. Glad you didn't need to superglue fingers back on! LOL

Cool video. I didn't quite do that, but I had a frag encrust on a rack and when I removed it, explode... I glued a bunch of the scraps around the tile and it encrusted the tile quickly having more surface area for growth.

@@scooterglass4497 I don't know the species, with staghorn corals like this you have to really let them grow out pretty large before you can narrow it down to one of 50 species with this general shape
I got nervous because the acro was out of water lot of Time. I know that some acros are out of water in nature but since that colony has been lot of time in a tank I am afraid it forgot how to be out of water xD
Yoooo you’re gunnu cut your finger one day if you keep using a ban saw like that. It’s not if you do it’s when. Use a stick to push things through the ban saw. Safety first.

You could actually “graft” different color corals of same genus species onto a spread out old dead skeleton.
Would make an outstanding display piece.

Kinda done this with a hammer my lfs had the head popped off and I put it in a mushroom box and it reattached and started regrowing

I'd rather have fewer corals that I take better care of than try to rescue every shard of living coral tissue into an unmanageable number of frags.

really depends on the coral, and the conditions, but I don't think twice about having Acros out (keeping them moist) for 10 minutes or more
