Loved this video! Hi Ania 👋🏻 Ania got me hooked on lepto, I’ve got six varieties. I regularly knock small pieces off with metal tongs and glue them to bare patches that need filling. I’m cyphastrea obsessed too but am still searching for a branching variety in Australia.
My favorite underrated coral is Cladiella, I have a really cool form that has dark polyps with a light base. When I saw the mother colony get disturbed, all the polyps started to pulse like a wave. They called it the blushing coral and I was hooked on it! It's just a leather coral, but I think it's pretty unique Nice to see more of Jack! the quality wasn't the best in the studio, but I know you guys will get it better in time! It would be nice to see Jack as a guest on an episode of reef therapy in the future!!! 🤔😁❤️
Leptoseris has always been my favorite encrusting coral, it's so incredibly unique in growth form and the texture reminds me of mini sand dunes. It's one of the best sculpture encrusters too! I have a colony of pink Lepto growing on an antique wine bottle in my aquarium.
Branching cyphastrea has always been one of my fav’s. The green variety is actually found less often then the pink but imagine a tank w just cyphastrea!!❤❤❤
Great video - love the multiple perspectives in one longer vid. For beginner / budget friendly corals I am a huge fan of chalice corals. So many different color morphs and grafted versions to collect. Hope you all make this a running series of mid and high range corals. Beginner friendly, intermediate and advanced. That’s nine videos… And an expansion video series into favorite zoas, euphyllia, Millie, acros, etc.
For sure! The tricky part is doing videos on "high end" corals people in the comments lose their minds over prices. lol. Love the suggestions and will take them into consideration for sure!
I would add rare forms of some of the common corals Xenia: Giant Bali Xenia, Ruby Red Xenia GSP: Branching GSP, Pink GSP Sinularia: pulsing sinularia Kenya tree: Avatar/Blue Ice Kenya Tree
Ok had to pause the video...I thought i had a brain aneurysm....did i click bahama llama? No...reef builders...this is what its like worlds collide!..love it! Sorry if im behind the times...lol great to see this...really like Bahama Llama.
@@ReefBuildersVideo not yet,but plan to with a new build I have. Will try some some red and yellow finger gorgs i currently have on hand along with some sun coral.
2:00 That’s actually Lobactis scutaria, not Fungia fungites. True Fungia are actually pretty uncommon in the hobby. 12:56 The coral shown is a colonial Cycloseris (C. wellsi, explanulata, mokai), not Leptoseris.
A+++ to Ania for mentioning gorgonians. Some of the photosynthic ones are touchy, but most are easy to keep and have beautiful growth forms. Sad that Than Thien likes corals for their "day-glo colors." May I humbly suggest the blue coral, Heliopora coerulea, which despite appearances is technically a soft coral? A beautiful dark brown, with large white polyps. You can read its moods -- if it's unhappy it will skin over. A fast grower, its shape very much depends on the water flow.
I have the branching cyphastrea but it's red on red. I also have a leptoseris but I don't know... . I also have the two standard blastomussas. I don't really know what to do with the last 3 . My favorites from video are the turbinaria :O and the variants of the branching cyphastrea that are mire colorful than mine. And I've never ever heard about those snake polyps Oo .
Maybe 2024 is the year I stop being chicken and branch out to salt water. I've been doing fresh for so long I'm scared, but I'm enchanted by the corals.
Turbinaria! Old school plating and gives a tank that natural look when it gets mature. Looks great under daylight.
Nice edit! Thanks Remy.
Thanks for playing with us, Marc!
I have a Merulina Coral I got in a beginners frag pack like 10 years ago and am still fond of its shape and growth pattern.
Very nice video!!! Keep it going! I love that lady! The whole video is great!
The idea of getting a bunch of legends together to contribute to a RB video was great 👍
im in love with my fox coral!!
What a cool video idea!! I love all the collaborations.
Loved this video!

There should be branching Cyphastrea frags at the Salisbury location! They could be sent to Wynnum if you want.
@@mattthomas6102 thankyou!! I’ll hit Ania up before next visit.
Anias the best she is so awsome..love her.😊

There’s just so many to explore. I’m glad there’s a bunch of affordable and interesting options!
Isn't that the truth!? As I was putting this video together I started to think about the corals that were left out! ~Remy
Great Video. I love all the choices mentioned. I would add psammocora and pavona to the list. So many colors and growth forms.
Very interesting video 👍.
Love the mashup!
Turbinaria took the prize for me. That piece is stunning! ~Remy

Definitely have to go with any photosynthetic gorgonians or Palythoa grandis.

Fox coral, japanese deep water neon green weeping willow, neon green sinularia.
Fox is a good one for sure. WW is great but sometimes they can be overpriced. ~Remy
Great video! I really like Duncan Coral easy to grow and affordable, and the Japanese neon green Kenya tree, a fast grower and looks really cool :)
Ania,s turbon all the way 😊

I can't pick! I like them all!
:D :D :D i had this idea of putting leptocseris on a branching skelleton :D :D just couldn'T find a fitting piece so far.
I love my Turbinaria H. ;-) sure not as big, but beautiful blue/green colors

‘Euphyllia paraancora 24k’ is my absolute favorite
One of my fav oddball corals is my blue cespitularia

Remy did you start a new channel?
I haven't seen any videos from the Bahama Lama channel in a while.
I'll be over there from now on. 0 time to make any extra videos on the Llama channel. Thanks for asking! ~Remy

Where can we buy some corals
Top Shelf Aquatics
Be careful touching snake polyps. They are a type of zoanthid and might contain palytoxin.
I didn't import it , it was here the whole time
