Thanks for the video Jake! I got to meet you a few weeks ago at a LFS. You helped me pick a hammer out. It’s doing fantastic! Hey I’m in Wheat Ridge I’ll come fix your Sink faucet so you can get rid of the vice grips!! Lol. Love the videos!!
Thank you for the great video. I am just getting into Acropora so it will most likely be a while before I am ready to frag what I have. One thing I have started doing for gluing frags to plugs or rocks is a 10 mL syringe. For me, a syringe gives me a little more control of how much and where I apply CA. I found the syringes on Amazon. I put the tip of the syringe inside the bottle of CA, suck out roughly 10 mL of CA and get to work. As long as I do not suck any water into the syringe the CA left in the tip does not harden and I can use the syringe over a period of days to weeks.
One day, I want one of those. Not this time, I'm sure demand is quite heavy and Colorado is a tad far. But one day, I hope that strain gets propagated to where it becomes available. I seem to be developing a soft spot for blue Acro's, and that thing is stunning. Wow your coral flat is beautiful, as always Sir. total jaw-dropper.
Pro tip: instead of putting your finger behind the blade and hoping you don't slice into it, use a regular old #2 pencil, flip it over, and use the eraser end to steady the thing you're cutting.
Yes…as a surgeon I cringed at how close his fingers were coming to the saw blade. We don’t want you getting hurt Jake. I’ve seen to many bands saw accidents

I love those ceramic frag plug rocks, I use them almost exclusively for my little zoa farm. They frag plug leg idea is great I need to implement something similar to mine. About every 3 weeks I need to lift them up and use the maxi jet to suck up all the detritus that builds up and is trapped underneath them.
Old fart here just getting back into this after a decade out, do you med dip the frags or colony after fragging? It is something that used to be a given but so much has changed since I left I have been stuck on youtube for 3 weeks just catching up. Also the little tips frag at the end.... those types have always been my favorite! I cannot tell you how many times I have saved a frag simply by popping a tip off and passing it to a friend (and the other way around).
Question: as a noobie and someone who wants to add acro's to my tank at some point in the future (sooner than later I hope), do you already have a video on how to know when your tank is ready and how / where to add them and how to care for them once they are in the tank etc? Thanks for the great content, cool to see how fragging works.
Hello sir Thanks for sharing fantastic video again... I love all your videos.. I wish one day's I stop by see you learning how keep the Acropors so colorful....👍👍👍👍👍🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍹🍹🍹🍹🍸🍸🍸🍾🍾🍾🍾
Hey guys, I have a question about UV light. When it comes to your reef aquarium when is the best Times to start and end UV during a day light cycle? They “say” between 10am-4 pm is the most in the day. Should that be the basis when it comes to ur reef tank?
Just got some new nicer frags. One is supposed to turn orange and is a milli. The other is a thinner branch acro that should have yellow polyps. I have all my acros about 6 inches under the water with a hydra 52 turned way up. Should that light be enough to color acros up?
Yeah but everyone will tell you to probably start your light at lower intensity and photoperiod before you go and blast them - try using the light acclimation setting in myAI to slowly ramp up the brightness over a month or so
I look at a t5 fixture and some people run 1-2 up bulbs the entire light cycle I just wasn’t sure if that helps or if a more natural light cycle attempt is more beneficial? If you have covered a topic like this just point me in the right direction , I may have watched it or mayb have missed!! Thanks you❤️✌️
No completely My main question is how long should you run the UV color spectrum on a led ? I have AI prime 16hd it was just on my mind does uv help all day full ? Or Ramp up ramp down? With the mid day peaking
Like I said in my last comment I would love to purchase a few frags from you this coral in particular is the one I want most along with a few others lmk if we can work something out Jake ty you for sharing love the video👍
I still cant believe people pay for poxy little 1 inch frags. I wanted to plant an oak tree and the garden centre gave me an acorn to plant. All kinda ridiculous really ain't it :)
Why do you not breath out of your nose when you talk. I’m not trying to hate frfr but the breaths at the end of every sentence keeps making me twitch lol
This is super helpful to see in action, thanks for all these nice hands on videos!
True masterclass in coral fragging. Video production is top notch, thank you!
Love to see more of that A.humilis for sure Jake ! Top video once again and marvelous colony 👏

Loved the video, thank you Jake!
Super video Jake. So informative - as always.
Loving the irwin tap handle😂😂😂, keep up the great content 👍🏾
Those look amazing. I wish I had a frag for my new build. That coral is crazy blue.

Thanks for the great video. I tried to do reef keeping. Learned a lot. Enjoyed it much of the time. Just couldn’t keep it up. Tank shut down kindly.
This is so satisfying, thanks for the video!
Great video, Please tell me where did you get those 2 posters you have in the wall. Specially the one with the beginners fish guide 🙏👍😅
That’s a beautiful coral! I prefer the purple frag plugs and frag plug holder
Thanks for sharing thos awesome video, how can i buy one of those frags from you?
I'm going to think up a creative solution where the frags will be available but I don't have to ship them out one by one
Wow that coral is stunning. Ill buy a piece from u!!
Hey Jake , what about for milka sps ? Have you fraged them ??
oh yes too many times, I just use a small jewelry hammer to knock branches off

Can I buy some from you guys? I’m in Colorado so I can definitely pick it up.
beautiful always enjoy your videos!
update on the frags in a couple of months please
I’ve got an actopora colony that i can’t find the name for is there any way I can send you a picture and see if you know what it is?
Do you ever include a dip as part of the fragging process? Like a CoralRx, Restor, etc.. If you do, when/why would you want to dip during fragging?
Not if I'm dipping a healthy coral
Are any frags up for sale

Hey Jake, where can someone go to find one of your immortal tort frags?
ask your LFS to order some from ACI reefbuilders.com/2021/01/15/are-reefers-ready-for-the-immortal-tort/

Just for science, next time can you glue the nubs you cut off with the band saw to a plug or plugs and see if you can restart something?
What to do when an acro stops extending its polyps?
the first thing I'd check is for pests and parasites
What do you take In trade ?
