99.9% I was in Juvie for several offenses back in 1979. Not much has changed. I came out worse then when I went in. For me juvie was better than home & all the abuse I suffered there. The girls I met had the same abusive backgrounds. It was like a relief to be away from home.

@ I went to my State’s Corrections Officer Academy. It’s the best way to become one. However many agencies require a degree in Criminal Justice. I have a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice Administration and it helped SO much. Hope this helps! They have courses on dealing with the individuals, also have debriefings after major incidents, and I had my counselor to speak with which helped tremendously. It’s not easy but definitely doable. definetly, as a 14 year old who was put in a cell at the age of 13. my mom raised 6 kids with no father figure and she became agressive and emotionally, physically, mentally, and verbally abusive towards us, yes she was trying for us but she ruined my childhood. not just her many people. im trying to change my ways and not be percieved as a monster. im just a child who was never heard growing up and still deep down a child.

We are ALL products of our environment growing up. And we think abortion is bad when there are parents who CLEARLY cannot care for or provide their child with a healthy proper upbringing?! This is many times the outcome and children who grow up in the system are 80% more likely to end up in crime and addiction than children born to capable and financially and emotionally stable parents. This world is so concerned with being RIGHT that we create our own monsters.
Your childhood is the blueprint for adulthood and some never stood a chance and that to me is the REAL TRAGEDY. To unlearn what you grew up believing is an unbearably tough journey. I am so angry seeing privileged Americans and their political and religious views that determine our fates.
