Laura Bretan has made many covers of Lara Fabian. Her music director, Giora Linenberg, was a former pianist of Lara in many of her tours.
Lara and Laura even sang this song in duet a couple weeks ago in Bucarest, with Giora playing piano.

@@nextgeneration4660 not the best duet to be honest and in my opinion. Lara sang better in other performances that day. Something didn’t click perfectly between these 2 for this duet.

@@ericsicard910 The song started too low for Laura and maybe still a little high for Lara. I went to a solo performance for each and Laura sings it a whole note higher at the start. Since I don't have a piano I used my guitar in standard tuning and the duet started on Ab and Laura's solo started on A# while Lara's solo from 2 years stated on G. So I think concessions were made but it needed more work. I think it could have worked very well given more time.
They are both great singers with different range profiles. Plus I think Lara wasn't 100% and may have been nursing a cold. Laura on the other hand didn't end on the whistle tones or her highest notes available to her out of deference. I sensed a lot of mutual respect from these two.

@@davidcochran6291 I am sure there is respect. Laura seems to be a fan of Lara given the many covers she made of her songs.
Lara is famous for restraining herself in duets : she wants her counterpart to find space to shine and the collaboration to be balanced and more beautiful overall.
She will never compete with her duet partner, never.

Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly".
This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonata, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace.
The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and gave his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself.
The classic music piece is globally famous and there were many different translations into different songs, with different music compositions, mostly operatic, and different lyrics (the band Renaissance, Daniele Licari, Sarah Brightman and Sissel Kyrkjebo for instance).
But the most famous version, by far, is Lara’s version: it was translated into a pop song for her, she wrote lyrics in italian then co-wrote the english lyrics for it and is the original performer of these 2 versions.
She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration.
This song has become a classic and has been covered by many : Shirley Bassey (!!), Dimash (Lara is his absolute idol and he covered several of her songs), Floor Jansen, Polina Gagarina, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Julie Anne San Jose, Giulia Falcone, Laura Bretan, Il Divo, Rimar, Vitas, Anastasia Luna, Evgenia Fanfara, , …
They made great covers but none of these match the amazing storytelling performance of Lara, or her ability to use vocal subtleties to be in sync with the music, exposed in her live from the concert From Lara with Love.

Her italian version is also amazing. A famous italian version:

She possesses two very fine voices. One is sweet and and very beautiful, but then there is 'The Beast' when when she needs to really let loose. The reason she uses it sparingly is that she developed some problems with her vocal apparatus. So she uses it only when necessary.
