Here Amira projected that final syllable of "pietá" for 7 seconds, and projected in the middle of the aria that "Dio" for 9 seconds. Amira can only do this when she sings live, because the orchestra always waits for the soprano. She couldn't do this playing an orchestral playback. So she sang a capella to have that creative freedom of the soprano (and she has a mental metronome). In July last year, she sang How Great Thou Art with the Drakensberg boys' choir, outdoors, and projected the final note with a powerful voice for 14 seconds. Unbelievable, but it's recorded on Instagram. An absolute queen.

Thank you again, Amira always lifts my spirits. This a capella version reminds me of the song at Maastricht with Andre Rieu. Andre allowed Amira to sing from the heart and he led his orchestra to follow her, rather than for Amira to follow the conductor. Best wishes from the UK.
In the summer of 2023, Amira was in her gap year, between school and university. She undertook a short tour into Namibia to raise funds for her foundation, Gelukskinders. She sang pieces at several venues, mainly in churches, but unfortunately had to cut the tour short due to health issues. I forget whether it was Amira, or one of her helpers who succomed. At this venue, she had sung a few songs, then asked the audience what they wanted to hear. The vote for O mio babbino caro was overwhelming, but Amira didn't have the music for it on her digital stick, so had to sing it A capella. She did it rather well. It's a few months since I heard it, it's better than I remember. Thank you for posting it.
Bonjour et merci pour cette réaction, je ne me lasse pas des chansons dAmira mais je ne me souvenais pas de cette interprétation a capella, forcément spectaculaire dans son registre aigu favori... Eh bien, nous avons pu nous rendre compte du niveau dejà atteint par Amira avant de commencer son cursus musical à l'université... 😊 Plutôt prometteur.. la projection vocale notamment ! PS. D'après ce que j'ai compris, les day houses et résidences étudiantes de sa fac de Pretoria organisent chaque année une compétition de chant avec des groupes d'une quinzaine de participants par structure, "Sing it a capella". La Day House d'Amira n'ayant pas été retenue parmi les finalistes la dernière fois, j'imagine que le challenge sera considérable dans quelques mois. Et en y réfléchissant, j'aurais bien un nom de soliste à proposer 😀...
