This is the real shit. No hype, no filler, just pure heart n' soul. Michael Rhodes (RIP)...you were the Baddest Badass Bass Player on the Planet. ~God Speed Sir
I've seen these guys live more than a dozen times. It was different every time. It was amazing every time. One of the great unknown songwriters backed by some of the best studio guys in Nashville. This is the backbone of country music.
Pat McLaughlin disproves the adage that musicians, especially musicians making contemporary popular music, do their best work when they're young. This guy is 60 years old, and he is doing his best work ever. I have a lot of his early stuff; it can't touch this performance.
bassmule Performers, maybe, do their best stuff in youth, but musician/artists, who were born to do this, couldn't do anything BUT this, as long as they have breath, HAVE to do it, can't help but get better with time: thinking about so many, ...this is a TYPE. Some of the ones that I admire are Neil Yonge, Jerry Garcia, John Prine and obviously Pat McLaughlin.
I was first introduced to Pat's music when I moved to Nashville in 1984. He has only gotten better. If you like what you hear, SPREAD THE WORD to your friends and neighbors. You know even the one's you aren't fond of deserve to hear and experience Pat McLaughlin.
I keep coming back to this fantastic set, what a band! Kenny and Michael are simply amazing, Greg is solid as a rock, and Pat's song are just great. So deeply saddened to hear the news today of the passing of Michael Rhodes, devestating I'm sure for all who knew him and worked with him, gone way too soon! Vale Michael, truly one of the great players.
saw him in Chicago live, agent out to have a cig with the band, got free signed cds, what a great guy. the salt of the earth! unlike some of my son's friends band who think bars don't pay them right, and they need a union? just play good music and they will come, Payed $20 for 5 hours of this music, and free beer,
Mike Rhodes was a legend among bass players and ventured into Chapman Stick on occasion. He had an intrinsic ability to read the rhythm and understand the direction.
23 minutes and 8 seconds of mind blowing talent! Thank you for the music you put out Pat, and many thanks to whoever at Hippie Jacks posted this, it's the BOMB!! 400OTD
💫🔥So, what I think I hear you saying is✨🍄✨You're going to be THE GUY 👉✨🤩✨👈 that will be turning your crowd onto✨🌟Pat McLaughlin !👍✨ ✨🌈🌤✨Don't you just ✨L❤️VE✨when that happens⚡️?!!!✨🌝 🌠✨
I got a little bit older today these guys will always be older than me though. I had no idea John Prines favorite song writer was that weird dude playing bass for him. This guy wrote crazy as a loone?
