I had never heard of Kevin Welch until I heard his son (who I believe is playing guitar in this video) sing with his own band at the Phoenix Saloon in New Braunfels, TX this past New Years Eve. He also has a very good voice. Being a 'northerner' who is recently transplanted to TX, I'm really enjoying discovering all of the storytelling singer/songwriters Texans are so proud of.
When I moved to Nashville in '89 the FIRST two writers I went to see were Kevin and Gary Nicholson. I knew of them from cuts on Gary Morris and T Graham Brown.

Alot has changed with this guy. He's moved from Nashville.And his music has totally changed.But just because it was a dream got my attention again. Justin Earle is doing really great.I even have him on Pandora.But Dustin Welch?I guess it's time to forgive him,for the Belmont grocery store incident.But I'm glad to see fats Kaplan was in this.I do wish fats Kaplan would come play in nyc
