I was bulimic for a long time and then I had binge drinking problem for some time after that - even after I quit being bulimic, my gag reflex was never the same. Even to this day, the tiniest thing will make want to hurl. Alcohol exacerbates that problem especially because you're more likely to throw up when you're drinking anyway...I just feel so bad for her. What a painful awful way to pass away...
I used to frequent Camden Town in the early to mid 2000's watching bands. There was quite a scene there especially with desert rock bands, but sadly I never saw Amy playing. I moved to Mexico in early 2006 for 2 years and it wasn't until I returned I got back into the music scene but not to the same extent as before as I had a young son and was planning on moving to the US, but I heard her music and loved it. I got my US visa, booked a flight on the 26/07/11 and was so excited until the 23rd when I heard on the news she'd passed. Kinda put a dampener on things. RIP Amy gone too soon x
My cousin was an alcoholic. His liver was so bad that he needed a transplant. The doctors told him he would have to be sober for one year to qualify for the surgery. His sobriety lasted a little more than 6 months. He died shortly afterwards. He was in his 30s. He didn't have children yet. RIP cousin.
I agree to a certain extent but I 100% believe her father could have done so much more but really wasn't interested in rocking the boat and loosing his cash cow! 😢

Recovering addict and we say alcohol is 💯 a legal drug, you don’t understand that until your body is physically dependent and you want to stop but can’t just stop cold turkey without medical supervision otherwise you could die, as with heroin
most drugs wont give you cancer or heart disease or cause organ failure or a zillion other things alc does even in moderation, it's toxic to every organ, no amount is safe, it's much worse than any drug
With a group of friends late night stumbling through Kentish town lying on a table outside a pub was Amy alone bottle in hand,,one of the girls went over ask she was alright ,she turned to us ",Fuck off,,"😂dear soul
You know Librium is fatal if taken with alcohol, it slows the heart rate and blood pressure with fatal consequences...I'm sorry...but what sort of person with any intelligence would give that to a chronic alcoholic/ bulimic?
Well... they didn't when they saw she fell off the waggon. A lot of meds are dangerous with alcohol. It's not the doctors fault, that's not why she died.
i'm an alcoholic and i've taken librium for withdrawals a few times (more than i'd like to admit) with valium/ativan, like they mentioned, through an IV. it's actually a godsend, it makes it so you can quit without seizing and dying. and makes going cold turkey so much more bearable. i was first prescribed it after seizing from withdrawals and after that i needed it every time i fell off the wagon again and wanted to stop. it didn't solve all my problems but it at least initially got me sober every time. and now i work on the rest in AA lol
@@annnee6818. The video said Amy refused another prescription, which implies that the doctor offered the pills to her again. At any rate, it sounds like you’re correct, in saying that’s not what killed her…unless she hadn’t been taking the pills and took them later, while drinking, but I haven’t heard that mentioned as a cause of death.
Sadly the ONLY person who can save an alcoholic is THE alcoholic , those close to her did not help help her but they could not have saved her only she could do that.
She was self medicating herself from heartache. She let people hurt her or you could see that she’s an awesome person. You have to have them for alcohol withdrawal. Which both cause death inducing seizures if stopped abruptly. She was famous and had money and had previously told the dr she wanted to stop. I don’t even think she had much of the drug in her system. I’m a recovered heroin addict and absolutely need my anxiety meds to help my mental state right now. I just saw Back to Black!I have always loved Amy-she died of a broken heart imo-loosing her Nan and Blake was too much for her,the actress that portrayed her was soo good
Don't think the film is an actual true pic documentary...real life was a lot harder and grittier. The last years of Amy's life were without Blake (her soulmate and Prince Charming in the film) Real life for Amy wasn't as romantic as Back to Black pretends, believe me

I'm wondering, the bodyguard checked her at 10:30 am. The video says an ambulance crew member noticed rigor mortis around 4:00 pm. Would she have been dead by 10:30 am-I don't know.
From what I've seen, this bodyguard was the one person that cared about her as a person, but she wanted to be gone too soon. This is what Ds do. If RDJ had fallen, the world would be deprived of his Iron Man. Remember these 2 people BEFORE getting yourself in this situation. It is not a solution.
it’s not even like she was a young 19 year old girl i always thought she died of a broken heart over a guy. i see now she was almost 30 feeling this way and being so obviously broken around her loved ones.. “bored” of life and feeling hopeless.
Its really dangerous to drink on top of lithium and Valium. I know valiums a benzodiazepine im not sure about lithium though and quitting cold turkey can kill you. Did she stop drinking and taking those meds cold truley because if so thats a death wish. My ex partner died like that.
No one sees the severity of the situation because they think it won't happen to them, but yes, it does!!! I'm dying of liver failure from alcohol. I never listened, just like Amy, but now I wish I had. But now it's too late... Over and out. 🫡
