Today is THE DAY! It is honestly one of my favourite weeks of the year and I cannot contain my excitement! Today is the first day of Royal Ascot 2024 and we are hosting in full Leonora style in the prestigious Car Park One. So join us for a picnic of epic proportions: from setting up to sipping on champagne, a gorgeous pre-races lunch followed by a mooch around the Royal Enclosure with some spectacular racing. Then, we return to our Car Park Picnic for a spot of afternoon tea in the setting sun.
It could not have been more perfect and I am so grateful to have been able to bring you all along with me!

I loved your coverage of Royal Ascot and your beautiful picnic! I was there and probably walked right by you. We flew over from the US and had a fabulous time. We also had a horse racing in the first race. It was so disappointing bc he did not do very well and he lost a shoe during the race. I am so glad you had a wonderful time! What a success! Everything was glorious down to the smallest detail! Kudos to you and your team and all the brands that played a part in your fabulous day! Although the food looked delicious, the table was beautiful, the horses magnificent, the racing exciting (actually got chills on the first race you filmed), but I have to say the fashion was my favorite at this amazing event! Happy to see Ascot race for first time! You are invited to Spain to my town Sanlucar de Barrameda horse race on the beach, very famous, you only need a beach clothes and sunscreen. You look like a princess.
Leonora your mother chose the perfect dress. Thought she looked amazing in it when she tried it on in SL. She also tried a very tiny hat on & a headband & commented that being older could no longer wear a large hat - watching I thought oh no she looks grt in a large hat & can most definitely continue to wear them. The little hat she tried looked so frumpy & that is not your mother at all! I was so pleased to see her in the large VS hat with the huge feathers - entire outfit stunning. Loved both your outfits Leonora but my fave was the all white lace ensemble - so well put together - standout gorgeous! Thanks for sharing your first day at Royal Ascot. I have been watching on one of our sports channels here in Canada and it was fabulous to see, especially with the weather co-operating. You and your mother looked lovely and you definitely pulled off the picnic and afternoon tea with the help of all the planning and your great team. On this side of the pond, a meal in the car park at a sporting event is called tailgating and yours was sure kicked up a few notches with elegance befitting the location and occasion. My dear Leonora, you are a precious and amazing woman!! I live in America and am the daughter of a beautiful English woman and a founding father’s English/Scotch American family on my father’s side. Needless to say I feel a very close tie to England with British blood coursing through my veins. My mother was very proud of being English and raised her two daughters to be equally proud of being English. My English grandmother came nearly every summer to visit and stay the summer with us. She was a talented needle worker and sent us gorgeous hand knitted cardigans with matching kilts frequently as we grew up. I loved wearing them to school and felt very special.
I wanted to let you know a bit about your audience. Today is Monday morning. I went to my snug Sunday morning and curled up with a soft blanket, my sweet kitty cat Opal, and mugs of tea. I put on RUclips to your channel and became absolutely enthralled in your Royal ascot program. It was such a very lovely show. I felt as though an invited guest. You are a talented hostess!!! The day was spectacular!!! I couldn’t stop watching, and I am happy to admit to you that I spent the entire day of Sunday from morning til Monday morning 4:45am engrossed. I have just woken up after a few hours of sleep. I watched program after program. The Chelsea Flower show was beautiful as are your gorgeous gardens. Trailing along with you and your sausages through the garden and orchard was a true delight. I love your gorgeous estate! Your home is magnificent! I love your beautiful mum! She is beautiful and the apple did not fall far from the tree. ❤❤❤❤. My mother passed long ago, but I know she would adore everything about your family. I wish she were here to watch and drink cups of tea with me. You give me an injection of nostalgia that I crave. I imagine there are many more like me with British heritage who live vicariously through you.
Beautiful Leonora, I cannot thank you enough for bringing such rich and touching experiences to my life. When I looked at the clock this morning at 4, I was shocked. It was still dark out but the sun was beginning to come up. Opal and I reluctantly headed for bed. I am retired and live alone. I can relate to your delight in having alone time.
