Welcome back to Vlogmas! Today we are embarking on THE food shop (if you know you know) to start preparing for Christmas Day. And then Mummy and I get going on creating the Christmas Tablescape OF DREAMS. There are a few hiccups along the way, and it is a bit of a process, but do let me know what you think!

I am from Northern Europe but I now live in California with my husband and when I saw you purchase parnips and carrots it made me miss them so much. I absolutely adore parnips and carrots mixed together, delish. You live in a part of England like looks very familiar to where I was born and grew up. I've been married almost 34 years and my husband who is American loves many of the dishes and customs I grew up with. Wishing everyone a beautiful Christmas and a very happy and prosperous 2024 💖💖
I'm a Brit living in Arizona and I got parsnips in Trader Joes.. I've also seen them in Walnart ❤
@@laurakelley5250 I got them when I first came to California and they where very fiberous. Not nice like the parnips I got back home. I think they need frost to make them taste good, as they are a root veg. I tried it for a few years and bought them from different places. I might re-visit them again and buy them from Trader Joes...and hope I get a good batch. @SephoraBelle they are definitely different. A lot of fruit and veggies taste different. Strawberries aren't so sweet and potatoes not so tasty. The Trader Joe's weren't as bad as other grocery stores.. thank you! Wishing you a lovely Christmas 🎄and all best wishes for 2024 ❤

I am lucky my hubby cooks. Both my sons do too ,but indeed i do know more men that can’t even boil an egg
They feel its a woman job .( some don’t change over the years ) saying that i know a few women that don’t cook either , its everything microwave/ oven / Air fryer 🤷♀️🫣.

So much fun Leonora! Brought back incredible memories of my Nana’s Christmas decorations for Christmas Day dinner! 18 grandkids tables! We we each served by Nana’s team of help! I already prepared and then cooked the Flemish Spiced Red Cabbage for 2.5 hrs in the oven this morning. De-li-ci-ous. The whole place smells very Christmassy already. Do you use the same recipe? I notice that you talk about Opa. Do or did you happen to have a Dutch grandfather? Christmas is hard work, but it is worth it. Do have a lovely time. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Love this pre-Christmas preparation vlog whether it's the shopping, the floral arrangement or laying the table 💞💞
You should get yourself a couple lazy Susan’s to make your floral arrangements on. They make it so easy to spin them around and access and check all your sides. I trained using them in my floral design classes. Everything looks stunning. I love your choice of roses and anemones. I use floral frogs and chicken wire cages when building large florals.

Omg, my mother was perfect at doing the table we had 30 for Christmas Dinner and my mother would always have floral done the table set to perfection . Binnie she was a lady that lived in and she and my mother would be rushing around and that’s where I learned the art . Though at times I do go a bit over the top😂😂😂. Our Dinning room had large BURGANDY velvet drapes and my mother had the silver candelabra in the Center with the floral arrangement. I loved that your husband is useless 😂😂😂 my husband can cook , cheese on toast and beans on toast nothing else. Though I have to admit I do not like men in my kitchen ( well anyone really ) 😂😂😂 am very much ‘ out you go let mother get on with it” but I agree it’s helpful if the guys can cook . Really enjoyed this video so funny and I really liked that you do all 5hat with your mother unfortunately my mother and her sisters and brothers etc are all gone now . What a lovely Vlogmas. I thoroughly enjoyed watching two lovely ladies shopping and setting a table. Marcus must be smiling😀 As a child I did not learn to cook because I was not interested. My younger sister, however, excelled in cooking. I often called her on how to cook certain things. I also found a husband who did most of the cooking. Now that I have all the time in the world, I am finding cookies to be very therapeutic especially when I am entertaining.❤❤❤❤❤

I love your trees where did you get them from they really make the table? Quite funny the mummy/daughter dynamics as we all have ideas of how we want things. My mother said she did not want a fuss but did put up a tiny tree and put her ornaments on the mantlepiece. Silver collection was my dad and he loved Georgian silver and sold a lot of it as my mother loved some but not all.
