    • @djmattplay
      @djmattplay 9 месяцев назад +23

      Apparently #70 reported multiple times in the game, but that is part of the gameplan, to report one player and then report a different player. Also apparently the coaches meet with the officials before the game and show them these plays that they might do, in detail as to which player is going to report etc. Dan Campbell is seen yelling “I TOLD YOU” to the ref multiple times. Seems the official rushed the call, went off an in the moment assumption instead of taking the time to have everything down as fact. #70 didn’t report and also didn’t line up in a position that could report. #68 reported and lined up in a position that needed to be reported. WRs lined up off the line, to be in the correct position for the reported eligible player (as to not have an illegal formation). Ref just rushed unnecessarily and f’d it up. Now Lions can’t get the 1 and might not get the 2 seed. BS.

When the ref did not declare him eligible to the Cowboys defense the player should have let the ref know. The player did not. The other player who did declare and get announced he declared line up illegally when the wr on his side covered him up. There were two flags on the play. The key questions here are if Taylor Decker is married and if Taylor Decker knows if Brad Allen is married. If both are married, then Decker has to be aware that Allen's wife constantly says things to Allen, only for Allen to instantly forget what his wife just said. Allen's wife no doubt forces Allen to repeat, word for word, what she just said. That's how relationships work. Decker needed to place himself in the role of Allen's wife and request that Allen repeat back to Decker what Decker just told him. If Decker is married, the fault lies with him. If he is still single, the fault lies with Allen. If you are married, you will agree with me.

    That play is absolutely on the referee. He is supposed to be the one to make sure he knows what is going on. Lions coach Dan Campbell says he went over the play with the referees before the game so they would know what was coming. The ref blew it, and badly.

      Lol don’t send 3 lineman to report. Lions were trying to create confusion… well they did. Audio shows ref told Dallas D 70 was eligible. That’s why 68 was wide open. No way to end that game on a gift to the lions. Lions then got several more chances and couldn’t close out. Lions lost.

    Everyone immediately goes to “they stole the game from Detroit, blah blah.” The refs screwed up the final sequence for both teams and that final play was just a mess. They announce 70 as eligible so the defense is not expecting 68 to be a receiver. We will never know what could have happened because the refs gave both teams no chance to play the final play correctly.

      @earthrave11 9 месяцев назад +1

      To me, this is the most alarming part. The lack of logical reasoning on the part of almost everyone commenting is even greater than the incompetent officiating. If the refs do it right, it's a completely different play. It should be plain as day that you can't take what the defense did when 70 was announced and assume they would do it the same way if 68 had been announced. But even it Lions convert, Dallas has 23 seconds, a timeout, and a kicker who has never missed a FG, including 9/9 from 50+. The story should be about bad officiating in general, including the "trip" that, if not called, entirely negates any chance Lions have. But here we are in 2024 where no one knows how to think...
