    This video has been very helpful. We have been working on nutritional and hydration needs with my son this year, but I didn't know how to navigate hockey season when they have multiple games. He always struggled with energy and digestive issues on the second games last year.

    Huge respect for making this! You have an awesome and inspiring way to express the main points, really gets you interested to learn more. This information still so needed in hockey community. Burgers etc. are way too common "nutrition"..

    Would it be possible to have a detailed meal plan for 1-2 days for a 12 year old that’s extremely active and plays PW AAA hockey ?

    Great video! Thank you for this, coach! What would you recommend in a situation where you play in adult league and/or tournaments where you have games back to back? What would be the best source of fuel when you really only have the ice cut to recover. Many thanks!

      Hey Jason,
      In this type of a situation you would want a little something extra in between the games. You would need to read this section of my free nutrition guide first though: www.hockeytraining.com/nutrition#game
      After reading that, this order/terminology will make sense to you:
      1. Phase 1 meal before the first game.
      2. Intra game shake.
      3. Phase 2 meal immediately post-game while waiting for the ice to get ready again.
      4. Intra game shake during the second game.
      5. Post-game meal.

    I have an away tournament coming up and have to wake up earlier for the drive, but don’t have to eat my pre game meal 1-3 hrs before until I am in the car on the way because it is a long drive. Should I have something when I wake up before the pregame meal?

    • @hockeytraining
      @hockeytraining  2 года назад

      Yep, in this case I would a little meal/snack upon waking so you can get something else in before your pre-game meal to fuel up even more.

    Does this work for goalies too?

    • @hockeytraining
      @hockeytraining  3 года назад +1

      Yes, this can work for goalies but it would be advisable to decrease the carbs a little bit due to different energy expenditures out on the ice.
