This video really spoke to me. I’ve struggled for decades with the black/white thinking. If I couldn’t be ‘perfect,’ I failed and, therefore, would just go back to my bad eating habits. I’ve been vegan for 4 years now, but mostly vegan junk food. For the past month or so, I’ve done very well sticking to WFPB eating. Videos like this are helpful for that black/white thought process. Thank you-really love your content!

Thank you Tia for this video. I related to so much of what you said. I started my journey last year and struggled to stick with it. I lost 40 lbs but I'm still have a ways to go. My blood pressure went up and so I'm back on it trying to go for consistency. I don't feel so alone in this journey after listening to your story, knowing that it's not always easy at first. Through perseverance we will get there. So glad this video popped up on my feed.

Her story is very similar to mine - I first found out about being vegan in January 2013, but ended up being a junk food vegan and got sicker and sicker for 10 years with my autoimmune and got to my highest weight ever until now when I’m finally adopting whole food plant based, low fat, no oil 😌❤️ - before now, I yo-yo’d back and forth between raw vegan for a little than going back to processed vegan junk and vegan take out for YEARS - I’ve known about veganism for so long and now I’m finally getting it right - thank you for sharing your story 🙏🏽

Great video. I can relate so much to Tia. I’ve been plant based since 2016, just got two of your books to help make it simple. Weight is slow moving off of me. I like the simplicity

Hi Tia. This video is really helpful. I recently found your Chanel and loving what I see. I haven’t eaten meat for a few years as my body struggles to digest it. I’m not vegan however I am going to try lots of your recipes as they are speaking to me. I turn 60 later this year and really want to improve my diet mostly to be healthier and also if I can to loose about 10 pounds. I’m excited to see my progression throughout this year. Thank you for all your help x

I'll jump on the 100 day 50/50 Tia!🎉 My weight is still on track but my body definitely looks different since not eating as much veg throughout the holidays. It's now the end of January... how long am I going to drag out "the holidays"🦃🌲 excuse right!🤣I have never ruined my eating habits like I did this time. I usually find it so easy to be disciplined since I love veggies and eating healthy and I don't really have a sweet tooth! Every day I say, today is the day... I'm getting back to it. I had such an easy time always returning to good habits after a short grace period for more indulgent food during special times of the year... I would never get too crazy but I took it for granted this time I guess. We are all susceptible to falling off the horse if we don't keep an eye on it and getting that motivation back is harder than I remembered. Thank you for putting this out there because sometimes thats all it takes to get back... someone says come on let's go! I keep buying a fridge full of veg each week in hopes that it will inspire me and most of it has been getting composed... my rabbit can only eat so much! 🐇 No more!😇 Your the best and I always look forward to watching your RUclips channel.

Re: the rebounder topic, have you heard of Kangoo Jumps? They are the boots that make you feel like you’re on a trampoline. You can jog/bounce in them. I had a pair but could not get over the idea of people staring at me. Plus I felt so tall in them, it was a bit scary. But it was a great workout and a way to be outside and jog without pounding the pavement.
    Great interview! So helpful.

Thank you Ryan and Tia! Tia I love your videos and share them on Facebook constantly. I so appreciate the challenge when friends and family members try to help me figure out what to eat when we dine out. lol I really want to say (although I NEVER would) “uh, no thank you, I'll pass on your guidance” 😂 Keep it up, you’re changing lives and so inspirational 👍🏼♥️👏👏👏

Thank you thank you thank you. I really needed to see this video. I have been trying to do a whole food plant-based diet since the beginning of the year. It seems I can never get past three days without messing up. And I’m that person that says I’ll restart tomorrow, but then it will be a week before I restart again. I just fell off a few days ago and I was about to just give up the whole plant-based thing and do a low-carb diet. Browsing through RUclips and this popped up in my recommended. I am so glad I watched this and I am motivated to restart my whole food plant-based journey.

Thanks for sharing this! The point about calories really struck a chord. It is true, you don't hear much about it from a wfpb perspective. It is something I will be thinking about now ( as I still have weight to lose). I lost a good amount of weight in 2021 and maintained the loss in 2022. And I was more thrilled about maintaining than losing, as I have always been able to lose but never able to maintain on other diets. Of course the difference being this way of eating doesn't feel like a "diet" to me. 😃
A lot of good content in this interview. I really enjoyed it. Thanks again. 👍

This is really great Tia. I started un 2014...lost 30 lbs in 2016 and gained it all back plus 10lbs now because of emotional eating and bingeing. But never felt as good as when I followed wfpb. But the all or nothing is really tuff for me.

My dad used to tell me this, and it has proven to be true to me and others.. When you're driving trying to find a destination, so many times we turn around just when the place is right around the corner and we head back, giving up saying.. Well I guess I am going the wrong way.. This is what happened to me with my weight loss journey...always quitting too soon, giving up and being frustrated with WFPB eating, in the end it just took a little longer than i thought.. but looking back it didn't really take that long. It's just that on the daily weigh in, it seemed like the scale wouldn't budge, but then i'd look at my calendar and realize i was losing 1- 1.5 pounds a week.. the scale goes up and down. The thing about it is that I was never hungry, never counted calories, my taste buds changed where i didn't crave salt and sugar .. in other words, it was so easy. The hardest part was just putting it on cruise control and knowing I would reach my destination, even if it takes a year, who cares, right now I am alive going in the best direction for my health and happiness.. the symptom was weight/fat loss.
Be consistent, Don't give up, Tweak it here and there when you need to, Be honest with yourself, Stay hydrated.. and finally, for me, knowing once you are at your favorite weight, then you can add back some nuts and healthy fats because you no longer need to be in a caloric deficit you are maintaining. I wish I could spread the message to all who are not on WFPB eating also no or very little SOPAS (salt oil processed-foods alcohol sugar). It's easier than I realized it would be.. our taste buds regrow ever 10 days, maybe that's why...
Focus on your life and live it.. meanwhile eat this way and lose the weight by making it a lifestyle change. So many other things changed for me, i no longer have insomnia, i no longer have so much anxiety and depression (which is a giant difference for me and my life), i learned to love myself and nurture the wounds.. even chopping up food and cooking, it feels like self love.
I just wish the world knew about the lies we are told and the freedom you can find. We are from the Earth, we are natural, this is what our bodies are supposed to eat.. it isn't stressful, it is Living. We have the same digestion and spine ratio as primates and this is what we are meant to eat. (Carnivores have very short digestive tracts because the meat would rot in their systems) Processed food is not food, it is Corporations making money off of you and then the pharmaceutical industry making money off of you and taking away your life, your health, giving you diseases we can avoid. When I walk in the grocery, I see those foods i used to buy and i think That is Not Food, that is corporations adding fat, salt, sugar, preservatives to make me addicted to this non-food, it isn't natural. Somehow that way of thinking worked for me.
And finally, stress is ultimately the number 1 killer...so we need to learn how to be calm and enjoy life. I think a wondrous natural WFPB lifestyle is the way to begin to be more calm.
    Thanks Ryan and Tia!
Thanks to Dr Michael Greger's book How Not to Diet (all proceeds go to charity) and so many others Dr Bernard and Dr McDougall and all of the others who helped me get my life back.

Hi Tia! I started my weight loss journey last January and by march had my first gall stone attack and been dealing with gall bladder issues since. Would you consider doing a video on gallbladder disease? Would love to hear how you manage it and where you are with it currently. I’ve been to a doctor and automatically they say to remove it… No thank you! 😅 love your videos.

21:32 I am so struggling with the whole carb thing. I decided to go Vegan because there are so many real health benefits. I don’t want to gain weight that is definitely not my goal. I’m hungry all the time and I also keep thinking this is not working for me. I haven’t gone back to low carb yet. I’m watching this video to get real answers. I’m not eating processed food so I don’t know why this is not working for me.
