The Simple Pleasures is a directional freeride snowboard with volume shifted design from K2. It features directional shaping, a directional camber profile, and a fairly aggressive stiffer flex. The volume shifted design increases the overall surface area of the board, giving you the option to size down and gain the benefits of a smaller more maneuverable snowboard while still offering plenty of stability and float. In my opinion the biggest highlight of this snowboard is the carving experience. The combination of a camber dominant profile with the added width and directional features offer an amazing feel. You're still going to find great float and solid all-mountain performance in between groomers and powder stashes on the Simple Pleasures, as well. Share your thoughts on the Simple Pleasures snowboard in the comments below, thanks for watching.

the season is just around the corner, im so exited to shred again
so stoked
Killing it TJ! What a crazy day of riding in Stevens Pass!
Thanks Kevin! That was a rad few days down there, so stoked that storm came through
That board collection in the background is amazing
Just ordered the Niseko version. Can’t wait to try it out. Carving on groomers and riding powder is pretty much all I do when I’m on the mountain so I think this will be perfect.
Just picked this up as my free ride board. Tough choosing between this and the Jones hovercraft. Thanks for the reviews !
Oh man how I missed these vids!! Legendary yoda gear wizard TJ! Thanks dude!
Thanks Rob! 🙏🏼
Nice review, I've had this board for a couple of years now and of the seven boards I own this one I probably ride the most, also took it to Japan earlier this year.
sickk I bet it held up really well in Japan
Oooo i got the 2019 with buron genesis so excited to shred it. Going to rip the capita mercury with the union atlas this year too, and the asymulator for those fun chill days
Good review man😎👍🏼 Due to the circumstances of covid, a comparison between some splitboards would be a great idea? Actually I‘m looking for a Jones Mountain Twin or a Solution (alternative Arbor or K2)
tj uploads... im happy!!
🙏🏼
My home mt stevens! Great video shots and great review as always
thanks man
New review) I like the tech details and video quality
Thanks Elena
Do that do it all board video TJ!
Love the knowledge man! That tree run was crazy! How does this hold up against the super pig? I’m looking for a tree board that works all mountain and in choppy snow
Hey TJ it'd be really cool if you can review any of Joe Sexton's PUBLIC snowboards
Bought and rode one last season. I agree that carving and pow is a blast - it also has great edge hold on ice! But I found the waist too wide for me - it was a nightmare in moguls.
did you downsize?
what about the bataleon Party Wave? Would love to see another day with that bad ass board by u!
any chance you know the difference between this model and NISEKO PLEASURES SNOWBOARD 2021? Seems like same deal just with carbon. Would looooove to see a comparison vid
That tree riding was insane.
Thanks TJ I have been looking forward to this review. Do you think the changes made in the new Niseko Pleasures are going to make it a better ride? Here is what they K2 says is the difference 'a torsionally softer flex to compliment the low-angle terrain, an updated camber profile to help turn initiation and glide in powder'
a little softer torsional flex could be fun on this board, I should be able to try it this season
Awesome video! I have been extremely interested in the simple pleasures for two seasons now and I think its about time to get one. I am 6'1 160lbs size 11 boot and I ride a 160 most of the time. I want to mainly focus on carving and was wondering what size I should get. I am not necessarily looking to make this my powder board of choice, so I am leaning towards the 156. Do you think the 151 has enough stability for big carves with my bigger feet?
hey! I'm pretty much in the same situation. what size did you end up buying? and how has it been with ya?
Wow was that a crack in the snow at 3:06 ? Just got the board. Eager to test it!
Nice review man, I’m liking the new format. 👍. Random question, I picked up the Arbor Iguchi pro camber (last year’s model) and curious what size you normally rode in that board as my height/weight is pretty similar to you. Probably like 5lbs heavier and a 9.5 boot. I got the 153cm for maneuverability and riding trees, but I know I sacrificed a little stability for speed and float. Thanks man.
I also just picked up last years Iguchi pro camber. I’m 6’ 180lbs. size 10 boots and got the 156cm. Haven’t rode it yet, but I’m excited!
simple pleasure or arbor cask? I'm having a hard time trying to hone in a volume shifted board.
i am not rich Anuf to by one of these new so I am looking for a used one but there aren’t very many out there so Can I buy yours?
Could you do a review on the 2021 ultrafear?
Sup TJ! How would you rank this board for powder days? 1-10? Thanks!
Hey TJ, thanks for the great reviews! Just saw your previous review on the Bataleon Party Wave. Just wondering, was the ride very different between the 2? Did you prefer one over the other?
thank you! they do have a different feel from each other, the Party Wave is even wider and less directional and not as stiff. I think the Part Wave is a little more all-mtn style and the simple pleasures is more of a proper freeride design.
Hey I’m 5’10 and 170lbs do you think 151 is good for me? Or do I have to go 156? What do you recommend
Hey TJ can you do a 2021 doa vs super doa
There is a new version Niseko. Please review it.
What is your weight/height/boot size? Watch a tooon of your vids so would like to know to ref from myself when deciding whether or not to pick up one of these beauts. Thanks Homie
Can we get a k2 medium review
I only get to ride about 10 days a year and I’m looking for an all around board. I’m an intermediate to advanced rider currently on the Capita Outerspace Living which was my first board. I have plenty of fun on it but would love something geared toward the style of riding I get to experience. I don’t spend any time in the park so I don’t ride switch often. Any suggestions?
I'd look at mid-flexing directional twin style boards. Check out the Arbor Iguchi Pro, Ride Warpig, and the Burton Custom as a few to start your search
Killing it man! Love the vids! Quick question, what are your thoughts on the Salomon Sleepwalker? Just looking for a board I can mess around with and do butters while my girlfriend learns how to snowboard.
That would be a fun board for that, the sleepwalker is very soft and jibby
@@BoardArchive sounds good, thanks man! I started mountain biking a few months back and have been enjoying your downhill vids as well. You’re the man!
@TJ, please review Korua Shapes Cafe Racer this year, if you can! Thank you!!
I'll try to get on more Korua this season, I really enjoyed the Dart. Send them a DM and let them know you'd like me to test more of their boards! Thanks man!
That’s last seasons’ model, right? Did anything change for this year?
It’s now a signature board for a Japanese rider but I think other than that it’s probably the saw
what riding angles do you use on k2 simple pleasures? having a hard time figuring out what works for this guy, thanks.
would really love to get some feedback here, thanks Boss
How is the pop from the board? Also is it any fun for sending side hits or cliff drops?
can definitely handle some cliff drops well, will be pretty fun for side hits as well. With the shorter stiffer tail it takes more effort to load up tension but you can get some pop. Nothing amazing in that regard, but its there
TJ, are you reviewing the 2020 or 2021 simple pleasures here? That's not the '21 colours
yeah this is the 2020 not the 21
Yewwwww!!!
sounds and looks like the right board 4 me. What length does it come in?
151 and 156
If you could only ski pow or park which would you chose?
pow
TJ, have you tried Niseko pleasure?
not yet!
Sizing recommendation for a ~80kg rider?
I'd go for the 156
I got the 151 and it a great board but for 78/80kg it is to small for riding in pow.
The big disadvantage of the bigger size is the increase of the waistwidt (+1cm)when you are riding the board in normal piste conditions.
The Party Platter has the same problem.
In pow both boards are great but in normal piste conditions the waistwidth is a disadvantage because it exhausting and has a slower edge change then a board wich has a smaller waist width.
Is it an idea to make a video about that?
The advantages an disadvantages of volume shifted boards/ boards with and big waistwidth 26+ cm for people with an normal shoeseize.
I have both of them and find the Simple pleasures a more playfull board then the Party Platter.
I used them next to the Bataleon Boss.
Do a neversummer harpoon review!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
will add that to the list! definitely interested in it its been cool to see what their rider skylar has been doing with that board
@@BoardArchive yea I know. I’m looking for a pow board for some Swiss powder riding and the harpoon looks more of my taste. I just don’t wanna spend money for a pow board and end up not liking it!
Pretty similar to a Rossignol sashimi, no?
Sashimi has much less tail on it
What’s it compared to the Orca
it's in the same league, some major differences with the orca is a slightly softer flex, rocker dominant profile, and it has magnetraction
Is there really that much snow already out there? Wow, I'm living in the wrong place.
That was last season he’s just now posting it
this was in February
The thumbnail be like “ simp pleasures”
Hahaha
This or party wave?
I'd rather have this in the quiver
2021 do it all snowboard video?
Yes please @boardarchive
Hi
One comment = one prayer for snow
Yes
Whoa....
Tj regularly rides a 157!? 🤯
my Kazu is a 157!
@@BoardArchive is there a reason behind that? We are pretty close in stature but I regularly ride a 155
@@Bad_Riders thats just my preference, my ideal board size for my twin/park boards is 153/154 so if I am going to switch to a freeride board I step it up to a 156/157 for the added stability, float, and edge hold.
I wish I had money :(
First
got em. the new profile photo is sick socio!
@@BoardArchive thx sócio!!!
