- I hacked the new LEGO Technic Move Hub to remote control it with an XBOX controller! Check out how I did it.

Would you like me to test the Porsche against the other RC LEGO cars I designed?
Your work is incredible i tried it and it worked extremely good!!!
Thanks for trying it. I'm happy that it worked smoothly for you as well. Now let's wait for LEGO to fix the bugs in the firmware (or release the documentation about any changes)
@@profBricks yes and they should hire you ;)
Whole C+ is a stepback, I'm amazed that you have still faith in TLG :))
I'm amazed by some of their choices, like: why is the technic hub retired as spare part but still available in the C+ sets? Why is the BOOST hub still available but no new set is using it? Etcetera...
@@profBricks Check availability of motors. Even more bizarre. Like they are closing C+ and waiting for something new.
They lost me at 'no more mindstorms'. I think the bean counters are fully in control
I hope lego listens to developers rather than making it harder for you to improve it. They have nothing to loose, why not. Amazing job btw
Thanks. LEGO used to listen to external experts many years ago (2007-2013), in the golden age of MINDSTORMS. Now it's amazing how they try to do quite the opposite. Adults welcome? Release the docs!!!
awesome. I vastly prefer to use an xbox controller to controll the lego hubs. the smart phone controll has no feedback I do hope lego does develop it further
For now, I just hope that LEGO fixes the bugs in the firmware, to let us squeeze the most out of this new hub!
@@profBricks yah. I do wonder how much the hub will cost. Its not on the lego store yet.
Thanks for sharing .. 😂. I assume a new set of robotic models will be lunch by Prof. Bricks based in this new hub.
That was my hope... But the current firmware is not responding to the known protocol as it should! So, not for now...
I wonder if PyBricks will be possible soon on this new hub?
We all *strongly* hope it will be possible. Soon... I don't know.
Hello! I’d like to have a way to control this new hub with „88010 Remote Control”.
Any hints how can I make it? I know that once pybricks will be made available it should be possible but any hint at this stage?
I would integrate the python script by adding a section that connects the middleware (PC) to the LEGO 88010 remote and then forward the commands from the remote to the car.
Thanks@@profBricksso no way to j ust play with remote control
and hub only? I need to be connected with remote to computer and at the same time computer needs to send commands to hub, right?
Unless someone will develop a custom firmware for the new hub (LEGO included), you will need a computer as middleware. I did it! Check this out: ruclips.net/user/shorts7I1Y9t_Kg5g
Any changes in top speed?
The author said same thing.
I didn't check which is the maximum number that produces a change in speed. 100 is the maximum value allowed (or at least that generates changes in speed)
So no possibility to use PyBricks on this hub?
I'm not the right person to ask. Developing a custom firmware is a complex process compared to just capturing and sending the commands to the hub from another device.
How much fast compare with original C+ app?
Exactly the same. No visible latency. I'm sending max 200 raw commands per second, whenever the XBOX Controller inputs change
@@profBricks Thanks for the swift response. I have a feeling the car can go faster than the Control + app allows it to, since the motor speed is regulated. A simple PWM without regulation should be faster IMO.
@@profBricks Nah nah I mean car's drive speed. Looks like C+ app did some limitation on hub. So I wanted to see full potential of that hub.
@@ZEROBRICKSI'll try
@@profBricks Thanks. Can't wait to see if we can get more performance out so it can actually be true to it's marketing
