Another F, shunned by instructors but used by many players: it's like the full bar form BUT wrap the thumb onto the lower E and the 1st finger bars the B and E. Last 3 fingers hold the E -shape. This can slide up and down the neck and gets good pressure on all 6 strings.
Hey there. Thanks for watching. Here is a page on my website with equipment I have used and like. Yamaha makes a decent starter guitar. www.relaxandlearnguitar.com/shop/
Hi Kevin, I recently subscribed to you when I came across your Freebird lesson. I had played it years ago but not very well. I picked up this lesson on F chord fingering because the "Neil Young" method works really well with the transitions from and to C/D. Had a question on your Martin. What model is it and what strings are you playing? I bought an HD-28 in 2010 and absolutely love the guitar. Martin ships this with Medium strings. I still play Mediums because I also like Outlaw Country and they sound better. Must confess though, I like Gibson's Mediums better sound and play ability. In 2014 I bought a Taylor 814ce and then in 2020 bought a Gibson Hummingbird. Love all of them but each one has a unique sound and plays differently. These guitars are all better than their operator. Thanks for your lesson efforts!
The way I play it isn’t correct at all: bar strings 1 & 2 on the first fret with my 1st finger, middle finger 2nd fret 3rd string, pinky on 3rd fret 4th string, ring finger 3rd fret 5th string and thumb on 1st fret 6th string.

Could you recommend any guitars for beginners. I'd love to play a Martin like you, but for a beginner..
