The S15/R34 GTR really were peak Nissan. This is soothing to watch. P.S those Greddy LS intercoolers are a good bit of kit. Mine's supporting 550whp behind my 1JZ and has been for a few years, no problems touch wood.
TIP: If you're removing or installing the radiator, you don't have to pull the fan at all. Just unclip the lower section of the shroud, remove the shroud and radiator as one. The lower removable piece on the shroud is made for this. No need to deal with the awkwardness of unbolting and bolting the fan with the shroud in place.
Legit the best car enthusiast channel on RUclips right now. Keep up the great work guys! I’m home on paternity leave and your channel is what’s getting me through the sleepless nights!
I've lived in Florida and NC away from the beach most of my life and those bolts were easier than anything I've touched with over 80k miles. Incredible.
I wish I could install that many parts on my car in 30 minutes and with so few curse words, rust, and replacement of parts that broke along the way! xD Really looking forward to the driving vid to see how it's transformed!
When unhooking the steering shaft, remove the rack side bolt because there is an alignment-pin. Makes it easier to put it back together and have a straight steering wheel.
You guys are partnered with throttle? Wow. I unscribed from then because their content turned into watching a 90s infomercial. Keep up what you guys are doing your the best car show on YT
Those front bumper supports are like gold un-cut lol. I had my similar kit Trust intercooler installed and it asks you to do the same thing. Then ages later I thought I'd be responsible and get all my mods certified in NZ (basically a way overpriced check to make sure everythings safe and they log it all and take pics etc) and yeah, cant have a cut bumper support apparently! Was a mission finding a replacement. Got the last one in NZ at the time.
Love the greedy bolt on front mount kit but man the blue couplers are HIDEOUS I personally would swap out the blue ones for some black vibrant couplers with some Constant tension clamps and it would be dialed 👌🏼
This is exactly the way I would mod an s15. Basic bolt ons make them such a fun street car. Only thing I would have different would be the wheels. Some 17" buddy club p1s are what I would have. Such a shame that the average s15 in Australia is going for high 30s to mid 40s.
im upset you had no issues removing those bolts. I went to put an exhaust on my 17k mile 981 GT4 and promptly snapped a stud on the exhaust lol, also I’m in okc so we don’t even have rust here. My 180k mile RSX is spotless underneath
Man, either this car was always maintained at a very good shop/ Nissan dealer or had absolutelly no mainteneance at all, otherwise I dont see how everything was easy to loosen/unbolt. I can confidently say that it is the first S-chassis project that I see in such remarkable conditions
9:27 sounded like he said "Gotta get the ball buster out." when they do that a bunch of wives come out nagging them. *that tool is an engine strut stabilizer/Support
Ngl this whole build kinda hurts. Such an original car and you're drilling into it. Like I get it back in the day we did this all the time but now this things a classic in stock form.
The SR20 is PT's mortal enemy. It's only a matter of time before that bad chicken coop mojo finds you and the other shoe drops! I'm not used to seeing him work on an SR20 with so little swearing.
great video! i miss the glory days of Nissan by the way, as someone from montreal trying to get their first car in this current used market, what would you recommend?
Is it easier to undo those wiring clips and connectors when the car and ambient temperature is warmer? Everytime I work on my car I either break a clip or a connector. Many of them just won't freaking budge. Should I do something radical like spray them with WD-40 or silcone? Help help !!
Sorry there now. Its industrial.sherwin-williams.com/na/ca/en/automotive/catalog/product/products-by-industry.11543383/fastline-weather-barrier-film.10684075.html
Throtl nooooooo. I ordered rear shocks for my truck from them. Originally eta was 3 months out. They changed my shipping date 3 times and they charge you 5% to cancel your order. That doesn't sound like a lot but on stuff $1000+ it adds up. After waiting 10 months they changed my shipping date to another 5 months out. I finally had to go with store credit. I used PayPal and they couldn't refund my money after 180 days from purchase.Luckily had a car that needed a set of wheels. Very frustrating and stressful experience
Honestly seeing other new stuff on the market. Greddy is pretty crap now, so many cool companies with better routing, couplers/clamps and routing with reversibility in mind. It's just a cool name now which is totally fine lol
Really? Name some companies. I think there are very few brands making parts for SR20s these days since that market is filled with knock-off parts and price conscious shoppers.
Greddy..”this is a bolt on solution”….yeah, ok. Just cut here 👈here👉here👆and here👇.
Defo not just a bolt on. 😄
Wanted to say that Greddy has a very different definition of "drop in" than I do !
It weeds out those not capable. 😅
Love it 👌
Either cut or remove the reo bar, this is normal for s15
All that Greddy stuff in there looks so vintage 90s JDM. I love it.
fr. it's '97 in that bay.

Heck yeah, I saw that and thought, hmm I bet this piece comes out AFTER removing it all.

I do appreciate that Speed Academy appreciates synth wave 😎
I've lived in Florida and NC away from the beach most of my life and those bolts were easier than anything I've touched with over 80k miles. Incredible.
Me: Pete seems to always go overkill on the PPE
Also me: gets rust lodged in my eye while wire wheeling with safety glasses
9:13 This right here is why I’m importing a JDM 06 STI. Canadian cars are a 200k+ & a rusty pile vs. JDM car are 100k & a joy to work on
This car is a looker that will also run like a champ. Yet another awesome build. The exhaust bolt loosening was freaking hilarious.
I love your philosophy modding cars. 10/10
Good explanation with the blue tape, I was thinking why not just leave it on.
Would so love to own this car. I like what you guys are doing but also like the idea of LS swaps on this platform. Good job guys. Thumbs up from NJ.
I wish I could install that many parts on my car in 30 minutes and with so few curse words, rust, and replacement of parts that broke along the way! xD
Really looking forward to the driving vid to see how it's transformed!
I just love the music you guys pick
I lovethe beauty shots of the legit HKS / greedy / Tomei stuff. So nice. Gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling. Don't stop doing that.
When unhooking the steering shaft, remove the rack side bolt because there is an alignment-pin. Makes it easier to put it back together and have a straight steering wheel.

We arent really partnered with them, just guiding our audience to their site to buy stuff so its an easy one stop shop for people.
@@speedacademy gotcha. Well not that it's a big deal but you guys are better content I'm my opinion
So amazing to see an SR in its original factory form!
So close. That thing cleans up nice.
I Love the music. One of my favorite videos.....such a cool car.
DP laughing in the background during PT's frustrations. 😂
a rubber care spray on the rubber hose before installation and during removable hoses and stuff helps alot.we use them alot at bmw dealer.
I like how you guys always use the right proper protection 😅
This style of intro is best! Another excellent video fellas!
It’s cool seeing the oem stuff come out of the car
the innuendos in this eps are thru the roof !
Bolt on kit with all that cutting hahaha kinda funny but freaking awesome! I’m a fan of this build!
S chassis looks so damn good when they aren’t drift boi spec!
Loving the new music.
love s15s im hype for this to get running!
Black couplers all around would have been awesome
*Connie stares menacingly*
I know you guys love the "all-arounder" builds and I enjoy watching all of it, but it'd love to see you guys do a big power (4 figure hp) build!
Theres a ton of channels doing that already so not really something we have interest in.
Literally building my dream s15. Love this series one of the best ones
Love the Gready blue couplers 😬
Love them!
Turbos bolt on... And I'd say a slightly up sized turbo is safer than maxing out the stock unit
No harm in running the factory turbo to it's limits of flow before upgrading unless specifically chasing more than 200 rear wheel kilowatts.
Don’t forget to replace the coolant lines under the inlet manifold. Better now than later!
Those front bumper supports are like gold un-cut lol. I had my similar kit Trust intercooler installed and it asks you to do the same thing. Just noticed so it might not be new for you. But congrats on 600k
Love the greedy bolt on front mount kit but man the blue couplers are HIDEOUS I personally would swap out the blue ones for some black vibrant couplers with some Constant tension clamps and it would be dialed 👌🏼
It’s almost a historical color.
Makes me want to work on my s15.
Pro tip. Spray a little hair styling spray on the couplers and never have to worry about boost leaks
This is exactly the way I would mod an s15. Basic bolt ons make them such a fun street car.

wow, nice distinctive daily!
Love the sr20det build, they don’t get enough love. Such an underrated platform. What ever happened to the evo?
Great build, it would have been fun to see the before/after dyno sessions.
"it's a finger day!" 😂😂😂😂
Man, either this car was always maintained at a very good shop/ Nissan dealer or had absolutelly no mainteneance at all, otherwise I dont see how everything was easy to loosen/unbolt.
I can confidently say that it is the first S-chassis project that I see in such remarkable conditions
This is looking to be a fun everyday car. Not going so wild as to being something that gets parked at the threat of rain.
Work smart and savety ..nice
I can't believe how smoll the intercooler and rad was. No wonder they were overheating
You guys need to get turn14 to stock hardrace! Please make it happen.
The fact you've kept the viscous fan (which almost everybody deletes) will massively help your cooling too
Im all for og parts, but watching you drill into the bat tray for some cooler piping hurt.
Really wish you would of done a baseline dyno and track time.
You guys need to do another car giveaway contest 😁🤞🏽
It's just like 20 years ago in NZ. But with fancy camera's.
Not sure if it’s been mentioned yet, but I think the soft material in the airbox is carbon impregnated and used to absorb fuel vapors.
Awesome as always!
9:27 sounded like he said "Gotta get the ball buster out." when they do that a bunch of wives come out nagging them.
*that tool is an engine strut stabilizer/Support
Where did you guys get the sick beats from?
I want that SWEATER!!!!
kinda hoping they might offer this one up for sale one day soon... 👀
For like 40k-50k usd
Love the build. Just wondering why use didn't pull the engine and paint the bay when use got a high end paint job?
If it requires cutting its not "bolt on", but yes it is a pretty straightforward install 🤙
Ngl this whole build kinda hurts. Such an original car and you're drilling into it. Like I get it back in the day we did this all the time but now this things a classic in stock form.
Its a car with 200k+. Hardly collectible, its the perfect car to do this to
That extendable socket wrench looks pretty good. Where u guy get it form?
Good viewing

Shouldv done a turbo upgrade, like a hks Bolton or somthing and e85
“It’s a bolt in solution which I do like”
…Proceeds to cut holes and brackets all over the front end
The apexi air filter for the SR is waut better looking than that weird yellow one. Is that greddy?!
What body shop do you guys use?
What exhaust is that?
Is it easier to undo those wiring clips and connectors when the car and ambient temperature is warmer?

Why not diff mounts/bushings?
Too much NVH
Link to the blue film crash-tape stuff?

Which rep bumper is that? jsai?
They got it from Japan. Check the original videos for this car
Every day is finger day
Is this one S15 for sale?
About to be. Shoot us an email at peter@speed.academy if you’re interested.
Those yellow mushroom air filter things let through a tonne of dirt. They no good.
Why does this have 2 fans? Looks like one electric, one fluid clutch?
One is for AC
@@speedacademy ah thank you!
Don’t ya just love when the bolt just loosens and doesn’t fuck up the day🤣 sheesh I hate rust y just y does it exist 🤦♂️
First comment( support the fight against the algorithm)😂
Why didn't you dyno it first? The people love before and after numbers
Should have gone vg30dett instead.
“Crack these nuts”
HA!
8:09, 😏😂😂😂

Kinda weird that it has a belt driven fan and an electric fan??
Don’t throw away that stock, muffler and catalytic converter. Also do not sell it. Keep it with the car for future use just in case.
Yes thats always the case with our builds.
Why greedy? It was cool in the 90s but there's better cleaner options.
Catalaydic converter lol
Cheap S15 Expensive build*
Hate those air filters they look like desktop fans.
The megan racing hardened rubber mounts are way too stiff, the nismo are much better.
