Last MLB All Star Game on NBC in the last season of the MLB on NBC coverage before FOX got the full package. It’s 2019 and FOX renewed his MLB contract luntil 2028. Who knows if Turner Sports will keep his part of the package or someone else like NBC, ESPN or CBS (with ESPN will be to get a better part of his deal)gets the other part but one thing for sure is that FOX will keep broadcasting the World Series until 2028
Will never know. But keep in mind, after the Baseball Network with ABC fell apart, NBC wanted distance themselves from MLB for good due to money they lost from the strike. MLB was in a financial mess with its salaries and broadcast deals. Then NBC agreed to broadcast the postseason and All Star Games only starting in 1996, because they refused to invest any money for regular season telecasts, unlike Fox Sports. After NBC lost the AFC rights of the NFL after 1997, everything went downhill from there. Once they allowed MLB contract to expire, NBC lost interest in the NBA and got outbid by ABC/ESPN in 2002.

As a Red Sox fan I've had a lot of mixed feelings about Derek Jeter over the years.. But this guy was super clutch. I watched his last game and his last at bat where he hit that walk off single. I couldn't help but cry. I was overcome with emotion. It was as if I was saying farewell to a friend of 20 years. Sure I still hate the Yankees, with every bone in my body. But for that one moment, I felt all the love and respect for this guy, almost as a Yankee fan would. Well maybe not that much. But I can't say the same for Bucky Dent, A Rod or any of the others (except maybe Reggie Jackson as well).

Ironically the All Star Game was played at the same stadium that hosted the Olympics four years earlier in 1996.
