I don't know about 2003 but summer of 93 I was a big fan of Frank Thomas "The Big Hurt" and loved when ESPN or WGN had a White Sox game on and I could see him smash the ball. I vividly remember one summer night when I was at my grandparents watching a game in the next town then we drove home and later that night watching Baseball Tonight on ESPN when a huge summer rainstorm hit and I went out and watched the rain in the street lights running into the gutter. Nothing like baseball in the 20th century and being a kid who loved it during the what felt like endless summers back then.
Wow, Hank Blalock. He was Texas' first version of Josh Hamilton. It's unfortunate his career never picked up the steam it should have after the 2003/2004 season. I'm so grateful for youtube where I can go back and see these players I grew up with play again.
This is my favorite year watching baseball as a kid. I was a huge Gary Sheffield fan. I started following him in summer of 99 religiously but when he got traded to the braves I watched almost every game both of those seasons. And this season was much better than his first. He hit 330 with 39 homeruns 132 RBIs he walked times add an on-base percentage over 400 and struck out like 55 times. Oh and he stole 18 basis. From 99 until 2005 he was untouchable with the exception of 2002 which was a little bit of a down season where he only hit 25 home runs. Every other season he hit at least 34 with a maximum of 43. Those were some of the best years of my life watching baseball
God baseball was so much better back then. It’s never going back to this again. But hey at leas we have these awesome videos to revisit and re-live this stuff!
I kinda wish the white Sox hosted the all star game a few years later. They did a lot of great renovations to this stadium shortly after the all star game making it a much more enjoyable place to watch Major League Baseball.
I agree. I personally hate our stadium, it was built in 1990 JUST BEFORE the retro ballpark phase hit newly constructed stadiums. Despite the rennovations it still feels like I'm walking into a shopping mall on the second floor of a building! It's very uninviting. I wish they hadn't torn down old Comiskey.
This was a great idea I always liked to make the players have purpose for the all-star game so it’s fun unlike the NBA/NFL which are just Nickelodeon style games
I know that this is probably an unpopular opinion, but I kinda liked it when they had homefield advantage up for grabs in the All Star Game while it lasted. At the same time though, won-loss records determining homefield advantage in the World Series, that does make more sense in the long run. But I did like that stipulation in the All Star Game for at least a while anyway.
ckendall67 Nah, it’s a really bad idea. For many reasons, which I don’t feel like typing out. It’s unbelievable that the idea was even entertained, let alone implemented.
@@euphegenia Well it was the only thing up-for-grabs in the All Star Game at the time, and people said "There needs to be something on the line in the All Star Game" as a way to encourage players not to skip the All Star Game when they were voted in by the fans( unless they couldn't play because of injury or some other factor ).
gameshowfanatic93 Nancy Faust was the best. There will never be another. It’s not the same going to a Sox game without her playing the organ. She always played the perfect song given any situation.
Back when television had personality. You’d never see these kinds of intros and broadcasts anymore. Now everything just has that bland, corporate, and modern feel.
Any one who thinks these guys are overpaid have no clue. Is it work, not really, staying great and getting better is nothing more than fame and hot chicks. Better yet, a good wife and security for the entire family. Ive played against and seen so many that should have made it boggles the mind. The ones that do, surely deserve all they can get.
How is this 20 yrs ago. We are hopefully going toward heaven, but As a Christian nation we are loosing our salvation and nation. This is a happier tape.

2000s were a golden era for Cardinals baseball, miss this group.
At least you also have the early 2010s (mainly 2011).

Yup Gary Sheffield was the “normal” version of Barry Bonds lol but from the right side. Nobody will ever be able to replicate that batting stance.
I was watching gaming vids and woke up to the 2003 MLB All-Star game 😂 wtf
Glad to hear Nancy Faust that night before she retired! She also performed across the street in 1983!
10:30 NL All Stars
13:26 AL All Stars
15:07 Roger Clemens
16:52 NL Allstars
19:35 AL All Stars
Ok
I actually worked on the ballots for this All Star Game as a summer job

Thank you
Gary Carter and Roy Halladay R.I.P.

Especially after the 2005 world series!

“Here comes a hall of famer: Roger Clemens.” - hehe, maybe not 😂
I still call the white Sox ballpark Comiskey park, aka the cellphone !
Great MLB all star game and Vanessa Carlton singing the star- angle
The star angle?

1:05:05 so wild they coincidentally did the catcher cam for that pitch
I’m pretty sure they show Rodan when they say Godzilla for Matsui
What were the songs the organist was playing during the player introductions?

Hey now you're an Allstar lol
Who else is here for Aaron Boone

The start of the this one counts era
Lance Carter a Top 10 all-time bad All-Star
Pretty funny they mentioned A-Rod and Soriano back to back. They’d be traded for each other the next year!
Of Crouse this All Star Game from the South Side on FOX 32 Chicago.
Nice intro...
Do you have the 2011 mlb all star game
Spotify - Josh Swish
why matsui?
Shit this is better than this year's MLB all-star game!

Bob Heck people who think athletes are overpaid don’t understand the revenue they generate for their teams and the league.
@@euphegenia ..believe me, they make it look easy. They're super human. Every aspect of life has them somehow. Imagine life without them.

This country is not a Christian nation, you brainwashed bigot. It’s a melting pot of cultures around the world with various religions.
It's just a baseball game.
