This is said in good humor. I listen to these videos all the time while doing random things around the house.
When I put this video on, and after the music stopped my 4 year old nephew went “quack quack, Isn’t this fun?”
He is paying more attention than I thought
I love the color way and the way it comes together so fast. Thank you for sharing this.
I just made this pattern with a Kaffe layer cake, while doing so I thought this would make an amazing Memory (Memorial) quilt using a loved one's clothing cut into 8 or 10 inch squares. I intend on doing so with my Mother's blouses. I know it will be a perfect pattern! Thanks Jenny!
I really like the randomness and light/dark color tones of this quilt. I don’t know how you continue to come up with new tutorials every week, but I sure continue to be inspired and keep adding “to do’s” to my list. Thanks so much!!!
The one thing I love about this is if you have a 10” square you want to see and not cut up this allows you to achieve that. I love this!💕
Love this!!! I just found my next project!!!
Love, love this design! I hope to do a QOV top using this design. Thanks again for a wonderful quick & easy design!
I love it when I find a pattern that will show off some of your pretty squares and I don't have to chop up into small pieces. This would be good for that. I do like the pattern.
One of my favorites already! And it would be pretty in red, white, blue and tan/gold. Lol the universal 4th color for patriotism. Color choice is a must for this pattern. Those layer cakes with big prints you can't bare to cut might have found a home!
I was thinking the same thing!
I used this pattern with some Ankara fabric with big bold prints. Took me a few blocks to get the hang of the angles. Used all black strips. Love how it turned out.
Happy birthday Jenny. May there be many more. Hope your having a great day. Much love to you and MSQC. One of your biggest fans. Pat Parson.💕🍰🧁🎂🌺
Happy birthday Jenny, I’m your next biggest fan. I love this quilt pattern. You always do a fantastic tutorial for MSQC.
I decided to learn how to quilt because my mother is somewhat of a fanatic when it comes to quilting. I chose this as my first real quilt project and I am doing it in all black/white because I am a big fan of that contrast. I am, however, making it a bit larger with 10x10 blocks as opposed to the 6x6 shown here. Here's hoping it comes out as pretty as the one in the tutorial.
My son is also planning this in black and white as his first quilt. He cut all his fabric but it's really not working due to the extra bulk and the dark fabric showing through the white strips.
We'd love to see it when you get done!
Really cute! This is constructed completely differently than I imagined. I thought it was applique.
This would be easy to downsize for a baby quilt -- just use charm squares and a honey bun of 1 1/2" strips.
Shawnalee Whitney I was thinking the same thing!
I guess I am kind of randomly asking but does anybody know of a good place to stream new movies online ?
@Zaire King Flixportal :D
@Keenan Jaime thank you, signed up and it seems to work :) I really appreciate it !!
@Zaire King you are welcome =)
Always love Jenny's tutorials they are so fun. This would make a great baby quilt.
Made a pillow this weekend using this method.
This would be a great tshirt quilt, too. You could up size to 12" squares and highlight favorite tshirt designs.
love this
I agree, Jenny, it’s cool! It looks like a flower with its petals falling off...a lot of movement.
Love this quilt, as I do all of your innovations. The interesting twists in laying out the blocks will provide a lot of unique secondary patterns. These featured chips (internal diamonds) remind me of the pieces in a kaleidoscope that with each twist a new pattern emerges. I wish there was a way to showcase these options and the creations of your followers. Blessed Birthday Wishes to you!
Jenny, I LOVE LOVE this tutorial!!!! This will be a great quilt to highlight your 10 inch squares!!! I am going to miss you the next 2 weeks -- headed to Europe and even though I will miss you I plan on having the time of my life!! Yes, I know that I can watch from there - but we are going to be on the go!!
Jan, we sure hope you make all the best memories on your big trip! Don't worry, we'll be here when you get back! ;) Be safe and have a wonderful, stress free adventure!
I was thinking a table runner using this method and charms!
Thanks, Jenny for another great tutorial. I have made your Disappearing Pinwheel and Card Trick quilts which were so fun to do. This is calling my name also as a fun and easy quilt to be made.
Happy birthday Jenny!!!
I made my first youtube video for work. I used your videos as a guide because they are always so clear and easy to follow. Thanks for another great tutorial and for teaching me how to teach others using videos.
So cool
This is awesome! I thought it was going to be harder. I’ll have to really think about the angles, so thank you for the suggestion to start in the middle. See you in August in Michigan!
Looks very nice and easy to make
Happy Birthday, Jenny!
It looked complicated to do but once again you made it easy! Thank you!
love this quilt! Thanks for your wonderful tutorials
This would make a great crumb quilt!
When I first seen the quilt at the beginning of the video, I immediately thought complicated. But then it works up so easy!! Once again, add to "to do list". Jenny, you inspire me!!
Cool quilt! Charm and mini charms would work too.
Love the yellow!
This would be great with Kaffe Fasset stacker and all black on the outside edge to make the colors pop.
Annie, that sounds like a gorgeous quilt! We hope you make yours like that and share pictures with us on our social channels!
I was thinking Kaffe’s fabrics would be perfect for this too!
Ooooooh, yes! I love his big prints so this block would be perfect to show them off.
Even a solid, coordinating center with kaffe strips would be good for practicing ruler quilting in the centers. Very versatile block.
Annie M That too! Kaffe’s prints are so bold and vibrant, that even as the “accent” piece, they would shine bright! Lol
I find myself a little bit angle-challenged on this one. I do love the fabric though. So cute.
It is beautiful, it may be easier than it looks I'm angle challenged as well LOL. Maybe putting some marks on the squares with chalk or something before starting just to keep our mind straight LOL
I am angle challenged myself but I think chain piecing all thirty six squares for all sides would make it easier...I am going to try a baby size ‘9 patch’ and border for a grand baby on his way...wish me luck. I am choosing 9 different material with boy theme pattern , to make it an ‘eye spy’ quilt.
Love this one Jenny. Can see myself getting in a pickle with the angles but will give it a go as it's such a beautiful effect. Xx
Can't wait to try this one.
Would you please get a clear shot of the entire quilt at the beginning of your tutorials? I like to ask people if they would like a particular quilt, but it's difficult for them to know if they can't see the entire quilt at once. I enjoy your tutorials so much; they have really advanced my quilting.
So cute. Seems to be easier to make than it looks! It confuses me a little...angles really get me. From Australia
margm4 it is very disorienting, the angles are so wonky looking it is hard to believe they are square!
This is so lovely great ideas you help me so much Happy Quilting
Happy Birthday you make my day hope you have many more
Awesome tutorial and block design! I'm always a bit afraid to do wonky blocks, but this really looks fun :)!
I plan on making this using B/W only and using 5" squares.
Love this tutorial!!!! so simple to make
Jenny you're the best
It's wonderful, and I love the colours too!
Beautiful quilt. Great tutorial. Thank you. Miss the Mickey Mouse watch. Technology is inevitable. Always a joy. I look forward to your tutorials each Friday. Jenny, you and your MSQC family are blessings.
I miss the Mickey Mouse watch, too!!
So easy and so cute!
If I rotate some of the blocks one turn, I could create long skinny stars. Especially if I make the center a solid fabric. Cool!
Very cute! Thank you for sharing this video!
Love this fabric, cute quilt
I love this. So different! 😍
Thank you !!!I just love your tutorials !!!
cute love the fabric
Absolutely love this ☺
You are the best 🌹From Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦
Orient 4 blocks so that the wide corners meet and the inner borders form a star.
Such a happy block
I am loving this quilt especially that backing design! I remember you using the strip on the square from a previous quilt, the All Stars quilt. You told me to go no more than 2 1/4" in at the widest part when sewing on the strip. I think Imma make them all like the center square. I bought the fabric for the All Stars but have yet to make it and it's bee material. Guess what.....
Love it!
I heard about the miracle of your life. It's beautiful job!★ Your life is a challenge to me
THE 10 INCH RULER IS BRAND NEW......BETTER GET ONE!
Totally cool!
awesome , love your tutorials from NL Canada
Great quilt. Awesome video. Thanks
Could you please do a tutorial about the gray and white and rainbow colored quilt which is shown on the end picture? That would be so great
She did :) It's called Sunny Skies. In the tutorial she used different fabrics. Very pretty. ruclips.net/video/wvsAzg-FzxA/видео.html
Keri Giddens thank you.
Oh, okay. Thank you so much! I am really in love with this quilt :)
This is sooo cute! I haven’t tried any quilts that require points coming together like that, I’m somewhat still a beginner.... you make it look easy.... so is this pattern considered on point? Wish you could have shown a little bit of stitching them together 👍
These blocks are not placed on point but they do have a similar effect. After you square these blocks up, you will just sew them in your typical rows. We hope this helps.
☺️ thank you that does help 😅
Very fun quilt, but I find myself asking a very “Jenny” question...I wonder what you’d get if you cut that completed block into four squares and then flipped ‘em. I guess I’ll have to make 37 blocks and find out! Lol. Fun project.
LOVE IT!!! So pretty! And so simple! Gonna have to make this one!!!
Could you please do a tutorial on the Circle of Friends pattern....uses half square triangles...one print, and one white...then a 6.6" white square in the middle? Looks kind of like a wreath?....Thanks! :)
Thanks for the great suggestion D H! We'll see what we can do.
So cute
Sdhappy happy birthday jenny
I see this in a baby with blocks of I see like finding Waldo. Nice
Muy lindo gracias por compartir
Would love to see a different layout!
This pattern is really fun to put together, but I am just to the point of sewing my rows together , I have sewn two together and the seams are sooo bulky where the blocks intersect I can’t get them to flatten out, I have tried swirling and it won’t , I took it out and tried opening the seams but that was worse. Anyone able to help 😩??? PLEASE!!🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I haven't even gotten that far but I saw it coming. Also don't like the center fabric shadowing through on the white strips.
Trying to make this but am having a real problem with the center fabric shadowing through when using the light strips. Also, the extra thickness of the two layers is bulky when joining the squares. There has to be a better of unless I am just missing something.
Hi, Sandy! You might send some pictures over to our Customer Service crew to take a look. They might be able to figure out what's going on. Their email address is info@missouriquiltco.com. Thanks!
What's wrong is the way you are doing it which makes it easier and quicker BUT makes it impossible to trim the seams and press to the dark side. The dark fabric shows through the light and makes the block quite ugly. That had to happen with yours. Why would you even suggest doing it. As another person commented, it also makes it quite bulky when the blocks are joined. A tutorial a week is great unless it makes a quilt that is just a hot mess.
I know this is a year old but….just trim the seam allowances after you have it trimmed down to 10x10. You can press the seams any direction you want. Come on, people. It’s not rocket science.
@@MrsBobsMom Have you made this block? I just pulled out one of the blocks that my son made and it is not possible to press the seam away from the white. If you have done it, I'd like to know how.
I started this pattern and had a problem with my darks showing through my white strips. Is there a way to trim the 10" square so they don't show through the top?
I wonder how it would look if you made every 4 into a flower shape. With the narrow point coming together.
That sounds darling! We sure hope you give it a try!
Nice and easy, thanks Jenny! 🌻🌻🌻
Do you think I could use this same idea for a t-shirt quilt?
I would think so. You could make the squares bigger also.
Tracy, you could totally do this with a T-shirt quilt with any size blocks! You would just need longer or wider strips to complete the diamond look! We would love to see your personal spin on this pattern. Feel free to share pictures with us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter!
I made a t-shirt quilt similar to this pattern. Wish I would have seen this video first as it would not have taken me nearly as long to make!!!
What a cute quilt. Love the fabric. Thanks for posting.
To Carole just Carole. What gets me is the that the angles inside the square etc seem to be the same, but no measurement given! Itsvery much an illusion I reckon
Hi Jenny, I’m sure you’ve been asked this before..... when you talk about the border fabric ( amounts needed) does the total yardage include the binding?
If you follow this link, it will give you all of the exact measurements: www.missouriquiltco.com/land/tutorials/diamond-pavers-quilt/index.html?Social&
Did you cut off the fabric under the background pieces (the fabric under the black and white pieces)?
She has a couple other quilts that have a similar technique. She has said she doesnt trim underneath. But I have made one of her similar patterns several times, and I would strongly recomend trimming the under layers. Other wise the seams are bulky and very difficult to quilt.
Bought the Lemon Fresh 10 inch block but a little nervous about all those angles in the block! Is there a another pattern you might suggest using this fabric? TY
Cute. Makes.me.dizzy lol.
❤️❤️❤️
I would like to see a comment from someone who actually made this quilt.
Is this quilt pattern in one of the Block magazines? If so which one? Thank you in advance
You never said how wide your strips are. Using 2 1/2 strips and keeping 2 1/2 from edge in wide side, it comes up short on the cogeneration when pressed back. Did you use 3 inch strips? In order to make it work with 2 1/2 inch strips I needed to keep it to about 2 on wide edge.
Rhonda Smith, she said to be less than 2 1/2 “ from the edge, and she used 2 1/2” strips.
Eye spy quilt
This is very similar to the "stars..." Quilt block, isn't it.
Same method, different placement. :) Isn't it great how fast you can create a different block just by trying something a little different!? We just love it!
Wouldn't it be easier to square it up after two sides are done? I don't have a 10 inch ruler.
Gail
You can most certainly do it that way! :)
I strongly suggest that no one try to make this quilt. Jenny has shown us a lot of great patterns but this is not one of them!
Happy Birthday Jenny!
I love it!
