      honestly i think the sweet spot is right around there too for acoustics. atleast for personal preferences. it seems like the percussion of the keys at 120 wpm is the most soothing

By nature touch typing and getting to those speeds with accuracy requires a lot of muscle memory - refined keystrokes on common phonemes and tricky words. But he’s posting his repeated attempts with monkeytype to show randomly generated sequences of words, so it’s not a single text he practiced over and over.

      @@anilkumargupta8555 Take it slow + concentrate on hitting the key with the (sort of) right finger, meaning "A" with your left pinky, not with e.g. your pointing finger. It gets more intuitive rather fast and in a month you'll be typing 70 WPM with 95+ percent accuracy

      @@tobotti330 I've actually tested the average speed for ChatGPT on 4 different devices and from my research, the average seems to be about 750 words per minute. That is, if you are using chatGPT 3.5. The average for Chatgpt 4 from my research seems to lie around 240 wpm.

      @@LoLlamaWTM I think in monkeytype a 'word' is 5 characters (including spaces), not characters separated by spaces so larger words can actually count as multiple words so even if you don't press space often, you can still get a high amount of wpm

      I’m similar, maybe a little slower. Use monkeytype or typeracer to “replay” your typing and see how atrociously slow it is compared to your reading or speaking speed. I personally would like to be able to record speaking at a conversational pace. Probably in the 120-160wpm range.

    Been 3-4 months since I started
    at first I was at 55-60 WPM as an average speed now I am at 90-100.
    for those of you who think its not possible to increase typing speed in a couple months and that it takes years of practice.
    Try not looking at your keyboard while typing even if you are not at 70 or 80 if you are above 50 WPM speed start typing without looking at the keyboard it will start to grow rapidly

      I've been touch typing for a few months and I can say that more you practice , it reaches a state that your fingers develop muscle memory and while typing it's kind of a direct coordination between eyes and fingers...before your brain would even process , your fingers just type them!

    I recently have been getting into competitive typing and good lord people are fast! I cap out around 90, sometimes 100 if im just on fire and usually after I just woke up and haven't been typing all day. It's weird, I benefit greatly from a short warmup after not typing, but I slowly get more and more errors as the typing session goes on. I find that fixing my errors is probably the biggest thing that will increase my speed.

    I can do around 160, but honestly the level of smoothness on the 100 was impressive you made it look like you don't even have to try go fast
