Yeah the whole "protector of life" thing fell flat when the turned out ot be an evil scumbag. It's actually dishonest writing that we see him do this sort of good deeds when no one is watching him, and then he turns out to be an asshole.
I think the whole killer squirrel scene is to illustrate how amoral Kars became as soon as the ultimate life form. As a pillar man, he showed an unusual love for all life, only holding humanity in contempt (because they were the only ones who could have a chance to challenge him). But his obsession to be the ultimate life form is so strong and so twisted that as soon as he achieved it he doesn't believe he is beholden to anything, not even his own principles.
CidGuerreiro1234 that's because Araki was forced to change Kars' personality: he wanted Lisa Lisa to beat him but his editor didn't want a woman to be the hero over the protagonist, so he made Kars backstab her to fix it, taking Lisa Lisa out of the fight at the cost of forcing Kars to do something out of character.
Federico Palacios I've heard about that too. What he could have done is have Lisa Lisa fight Kars, win, and then he pulls a trick out of desperation, leaving Joseph to fight Ultimate Kars. That would have been SO much better than just getting a tease of how strong Lisa Lisa was but never see her fight, ever.
I honestly feel that if Araki gave more time to Hamon he coulda gotten around that eventual limit. For that I also wish Hamon were brought back, it had a lot of untapped potential IMO. Araki can evolve his concepts really far, for better or worse depending on one's opinion. Just look at how quickly Stands went from mostly basic powers to absurd ass-pullery and limitless OP stuff. I like Stands (for example some Stands like Killer Queen, Whitesnake, Sex Pistols, Hierophant Green and Hermit Purple are among the best things in this series), but my problem with Stands is that since every plot-relevant character must have one they become so mundane. Nothing is special if everyone is special. That combined with the sheer number of Stands so absurdly powerful that Araki has to bend the story for these Stands to not ruin it. As I was reading Part 5 I just mostly stopped caring what kind of Stands enemies have because a Stand can be literally anything Araki wants it to be without many limits (there are some, but very few). Some Stands are the most OP and dumbest shit ever while others are almost useless, it makes no sense. Someone could have a Stand perfect for what they do (Killer Queen, Star Platinum, Heaven's Door etc.) while others have Stands that are just infinitely worse or actively harmful to them (Notorious B.I.G, Survivor, Cheap Trick etc.) A guy who just recently got their Stand could instantly defeat something like Ultimate Kars just because "OP Stando Powah xD" or someone who has mastered their OP Stando Powah for decades could be swept away in a snap of a finger. Because of that there is less tension there than in the Hamon days of JoJo if you ask me. Without Stands people were forced to do their fighting on their own, relying on their own skills and physical strength instead of magic ghosts. Stands are still cool, but I am a bit bored of fight scenes in JJBA now because there is nothing but Stand fights. If every Part had like ~5 Stands less and had some other element of fighting, Hamon or something completely new, I would probably enjoy the fight scenes more.
@@boush1177 it's not just about power though. Powerful stands can lose to weaker stands due a difference in skill and judgement. Look at how easily shigechi loss against Kira. Okuyasu is notorious in real life and in the series as a dumb guy with a powerful stand. Jotaro can stop time, but bug-bitten outsmarted him.
@@cliftonl.2353 You have a point but I really don't think Harvest is that strong when compared to Killer Queen, the only major flaw of Killer Queen is that Kira isn't much of a fighter and may not always utilize his Stand in the best way (for example I believe if he used fast throwable objects like coins or stones in fights he could win just about any fight since they might be harder to dodge than Stray Cat bubbles), it is simply that Killer Queen is a far stronger Stand in terms of destructive power, even if Harvest can have some utility and trickery that fight was essentially over from the get-go simply because of the power difference between the two. The only way Harvest would be stronger would be if they all rushed in at once and I am not sure how well that would have worked considering how fast Killer Queen is and it was shown to be able to hold off a whole bunch of them. I don't mind Killer Queen being a strong Stand, and in fact it might just be my favorite Stand in the series, but just wanting to point out that it proves that some sort of "power levels" do exist within Stands. Okuyasu is one of my favorite characters but his Stand seriously annoys the hell out of me, why on earth would a character get a power that they cannot even properly understand? It is a cliche that sometimes work, but in my opinion it depends on what type of power the series uses. With Stands I don't think this inconsistency works. On a meta sense I know why, since if Okuyasu was smart he could theoretically end the entire Part on his own, so his stupidity is a way to nerf his OP Stand. His Stand is one of the examples which prove that Araki has absolutely no consistency with Stands, some Stands perfectly fit their user while others are awfully mismatched, probably just based on what the plot demands at that specific moment. Or maybe Araki doesn't even think about it at all and just goes with whatever he thinks is cool. Part 4 is I think the one Part that does mostly well with Stands synergizing with their Users but Okuyasu proves that it is not always the case. A shame, I think. Jotaro vs Bug-Bitten was a clear case of counter-pick, you have a good example there. While on the topic, Bug-Bitten / Ratt is another pet peeve of mine. How the fuck would a rat have a Stand that is like a human weapon? We know animals can be sapient in this universe (such as best dog Iggy) but still I find it ridiculous that a rat has a metallic Stand. Why on earth would a rat ever get a power that is based on human technology? Anyways that is a small detail, but another thing that bothers me is that Ratt introduces the inconsistency of two separate characters having the same Stand (unless we count that whole The World thing I guess, but at least it had something resembling a reason) which is another thing that bothers me. Stands are supposed to be special snowflakes and unique to their user ---- except when they aren't, without any rhyme or reason. It's almost like Araki doesn't bother to think of internal consistency. Sorry for the rant but as much as I like many individual Stands, they as a whole concept annoy me due to the multitude of inconsistencies and plot contrivances. Like why on earth would a random mangaka have one of the potentially most overpowered Stands in the entire series? Why are Stands sometimes unique and sometimes not? Why do some Stands punish their own User? Etc.

I wonder how big the scar/scab must have been though.....
I love the fact that kars is still hearing and not looking at joseph after jojo starts his attack
Steamed hamon
That slaps me on the knee
blessed astolfo bean plushie Oh no
ITS AN ASTOLFO BEAN PLUSHIE
0:11 The World kicked exactly like Joseph but with it's left leg.
Hamon plus weather report basically hard to beat cus hamon can hold on to water and make it like electricity so just a raining storm
Weather don't even need hamon, he can just use his stand to create plasma
Kars is a way better vegan than That Vegan Teacher lmao
Anyone's a vampire if the hamon's strong enough
SOOODA! HAMON DAYO!
Imagine if Kar got a stand as well........ he would be so broken.
Your knee is being literally burned with the power of the sun, come on VA, do a better job at screaming!
Hamon dulls the pain tho...
@@chris30555 you're right, it can dull pain, and i bet that if jonathan was still alive and would help erina push while she was in labor, it would've made the labor quite calm and without pain, but THIS?! wake the fuck up! It's like if you were to scrape your knee against the SUN! the HOT HYDROGEN AND HELIUM PLASMA, you scraping your knee on concrete is NOTHING compared to this!
He has hamon so it reduces the damage but yeah it’s painful and the voice acting scared me

- gaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAH, TAKE THIS, OVADURAIVEEEEEEE!
- ha... mon?
- did you say "Hamon overdrive"?
- GEAAAAAAAAAAAH
*Right back at you buckaroo*
I think that if Kars hadn't lost, he probably would have been able to master Stand over time
His Stand would just be another Kars
@@Mare_Man Yeah maybe
joseph trying to fight kars is like a pro player vs the kid with admin powers
So I guess his leg was totally fine after that apparently
Joseph: taste sun!
*Kar's UNO reverse card*
The uno reverse card
0:17 mmmh, dude, I'm pretty sure he said obadoraibu. You're just making the hamon part up.
Roberdrake74 You do know that Joseph said hamon overdrive before right? lol it's just in this version of the subtitles, it doesn't say hamon, but it is hamon overdrive
Roberdrake74 And he said overdrive, it's just how it sounds in Japan lol your translation was a bit off with that word, because it's spelt differently than that
Calvin Lane Didn't he say "KURAE OVERDRIVE"?
That's exactly it. Putting words in your mouth to further emphasize and ridicule how pitiful Joseph is here where his greatest strength is placed through reversal.
In the manga, kars asked did he say something? Josph response was"i said hamon overdrive". Not sure why they changed it in anime
“So it’s the same type of hamon.”
Funny how Joseph screaming is an act so he can get the red stone
