Thanks Jaak, really appreciate your answer and that is one amazing feature.
I want to restore rainforest gullies, is there anyway to create a lined gully pond like this, but have the winter runoff, flush the pond out in high rainfall events, then when gully stops flowing you switch on pumps to keep water moving.
You could mass plant with grasses above the feature to filter out most sediment.
Haven’t seen anyone do it, but have you done that or do you know anyone who has.

@@AtlantisWaterGardens maybe you know of a better quality valve than is supplied in my hardware store, but in my work with irrigation, I have not had a great experience with the large PVC valves. They can work great for a few years , however, over time, and especially when exposed to heat, cold, and Ultraviolet, they become very stiff and hard to turn, and the handles break off or the middle piece that holds it together pops out, and or breaks. From now on I will only install brass valves for anything over 1.25” pipe. I would think that for this kind of investment the owner would only use the best option. I think he will have you out to replace them within a couple of years.
