I love this too. Sadly, my sims games were bombastic and loud (everyone was always starving, getting fired, starting a fire, or getting out of bed before they were ready :( )

I remember playing this game for hours back in 2002, and making giant houses with little to no furniture at first. It may be the hardest Sims game, but the magic it brings hasn't been surpased by any other version. Glad to see someone still plays it these days, as I no longer have the means to do so (I have the original CDs, but I can't play the game because my PC is "too new" for it to work).
You can actually download it and make it work. It‘s super easy! I have the CDs too and just like your computer, mine was too old. Works perfectly with the downloaded version

Inexcusable from EA to not have Sims or Sims 2 on Steam, GOG, and Origin. They only have the last 2, which are nowhere near as good as the first 2. Franchise peaked with Sims 2. It even had better animations in 2004 than Sims 4 did in 2014 down to microwaving food

I remember when my eldest brother would play Sims. He would have a household of 8 sims and he'd have them join the military career because it's the job that pays the most at the first level. It got chaotic fast.

I recently started yet another rags to riches challenge on TS1, where you start the game with 0 simoleans (you have to spend the starting money on terraforming). The game is quite hard and this is always an interesting challenge in the sims, but so much fun! I will always love this game, never stopped playing.
Absolutely phenomenal. Too many people play this game and they are yelling for the camera and algorithm while playing it like they are speedrunning it. They constantly switch out stuff every 2 seconds. I like how you went for a very slow pace. I subbed and liked. Glad you will go for a Part 2 and 3 later as you said in a comment. I'd also be all for a similar treatment for Sims 2.
@@Deadsea_1993 my other Sims 1 longplays are much more slow paced than this one, I usually play on 1x speed (: but because in this household I'm trying to get a fair amount of career and home advancement, I used the higher speeds (otherwise we'd only get 2-3 in game days which isn't super productive). I never got to play this game because I was too young when it came out (an infant lol), I’ve played a couple of sims 2 console spin-offs, and the sims 4. I want to go back and try this game along with the pc version of 2, 4 just doesn’t have the same charm
The sims 2 pets was the closest thing to an og sims experience I’ve had, I also played and LOVED the sims 2 DS but that’s not a mainline game and is about running a creepy hotel

I got sims one to play on my new gaming laptop but when I save or go to downtown or travel anywhere it pauses so I have to press home n go back to the game for me to play again. How do u do it for ur game to work perfect?

They painted every pixel of the bitmap files to get those details. it was made with so much love.

@@Arcanemax it's a starter kit for the makin magic expansion, it has a few of the magic items plus some magic ingredients, coins, and a wand ☺️
It is so frustrating watching you play this game lol! It’s fun to see again but you know what time she goes to work. Get her bathed and fed before then. Also, turn that dang tv off!
@@jenniealarid1421 in fairness I usually never use the TV as pianos raise the fun mood much faster, nor do I usually have a regular job as the makin magic expansion has better ways of making income that don't involve having to maintain mood, skills, and friendships. It's not exactly easy playing it as it was originally intended hah
