Just to clear up the lack of context in this video. He was about to "answer some of the questions that are in the minds of our fans" regarding the portal 2 ARG. At which point his presentation is interrupted by a staged BSoD, and the questions go unanswered. The BSoD (which you can find by searching "Gabe Newell bsod") actually had the hint leading to the next stage in the ARG. It's funny that some people don't realize it was staged, but I guess it doesn't matter.
all the half life memes aside Gabe is a hero and always will be. His impact on gaming will never be forgotten and I hope that by the end of his career he will show us he can raise the bar even higher than ever conceived
Yeah, I hope he sees Linux become the main platform, at least for gaming as that is likely why Valve (and by extension Gabe) is doing so much work for linux

Windows is the Xbox of OS for gaming. You just slap it on there and you're off to the races not much you can mess up. A lot of games are built around the idea of gamers running on windows machines and that makes troubleshooting game problems easier. If you're having a game issue related to Linux you have to be way more knowledgeable to fix it. That's not practical and expecting all PC gamers to learn and use Linux is unrealistic.

@@SoupyMittens 32bit games are, by definition, less intensive than 64bit games. They SHOULD be games they only take 4 gigs of ram, because that's the only real performance difference. My assumption is your friend is either trying to run a specific 32 bit program with a memory leak and is calling that 'multiple games', or it's that he has faulty memory sticks in his computer.
