Go with a US make and model scanner if you have older American vehicles. For example neither my 1999 F-250 PowerStroke 7.3 nor my 2001 Dodge Dakota are supported by xTool with no data profile update in sight.

Yes, the $3500,00 Autel IM608 is a dedicated key programmer so it should program all cars at that price. The $1000.00 D9S will program many more keys than any other actual scan tool plus has more active tests and special functions than the IM608.
For IMMO this scan tool has the best support than any other scan tool, the only thing better for IMMO is a dedicated key programmer, Ford module replacement yes. GM and dodge is year make and model specific.

What happened to Gm? BTW the gold standard for key programming is the Autel im608 it does everything that xtool does and more that’s why it’s $3500
