Thank you for showing the power balance test. I have an Autel and it's slow to the point of being useless for anything other than near dead misfires. This is a huge feature for me. Sure wish it was a faster response time but I think I'm still leaning towards the XTool over the Launch.
My D9 shows topology. Just got it - haven't done any programming yet, but I explored the menus for one of my cars and it appears to let you modify some parameters.

Love my Xtool 9 pro. I making a boat load of money off people's cars. They don't trust dealerships here anymore. I also do smoke test with my Smoke pro. For testing evap leaks. A $100 vehicle for 10 minute test to track down the leaks. Also do turbo leak testing that hooks up to my smoke pro. A lisle 14 piece kit u can hook to the smoke pro. Our State is mandatory smog. So alot of Cars fail the smog checks

What would a guy lose if using a D8S or D9S? I've been getting a lot of electric power steering failures in Fords and Dodges roughly from between '09 to '15 over the past year and need clean functionality for resets and calibrations after repairs. Most of the time everything goes without a hitch, but one Ford Fusion that I replaced the torque sensor in needs reset and recalibration. But I also work mostly on older vehicles so I still need backwards compatibility.

So are you not able to program a APIM with it? Or can you reset to factory setting or reload the stock software? I did a download over WiFi for my ford fusion and it blacked out my screen. Someone told me the software was corrupt probably and it “bricked” it…aka..the module or computer shut it off. And I needed to unlock it. I checked the fuse, it was good. Also both usb ports aren’t working with powered either which is why he said he thinks it disabled it. I’m looking for a scan tool at I can use at home to reload/reset the software back to factory setting. I heard forescan was good too…but idk if it can program apims either. Please help me out bro! lol
Help. I have the same Xtool D9 Pro and was trying to add a new key fob for a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon using Crysler 12-8 adapter. Was able to go through the process after security code and after several attempts kept getting the Program Failed pop-up. Then I accidently hit the Erase Keys button. Is there a way to back up and restore? I retried the program key procedure again and still got the same result.
I would truly appreciate someone evaluating and reviewing the tool in a professional manner. By professional, I mean after having studies it and its performance capabilities and spectrum in depth and thoroughly rather than figuring it out ‘ ON AIR ‘. A few quick points I find problematic is the high number of vehicle it doesn’t cover for some reason ( for example 2002 Lexus ES300. Truly limited functional utility on a 2010 Mazda 5 and next to nothing USEFUL on 2000 Toyota Echo. One would think that at the very least it would be able to AUTO SCAN the VIN but so far I had to put these MANUALLY ON 19 out of the 31 vehicles I scanned . And it doesn’t seem to memorize these details as when you move from one test to another it asks you to input the VIN again - a major annoyance . Another HUGE blunder is the speaker volume . Even in total silence it is impossible to hear the sound on RUclips links one is referred to for the purpose of resolving an issue. And there is no connection to an amplification or headphone . However , the BIGGEST demerit for this tool is the LACK of any type of REAL TIME TECH SUPPORT. The ONLY thing you can do is to send them an email and pray that someone will contact you as they state in the user manual. A colleague that did connect with them mentioned that their tech support is in China, their English communication and comprehension sucked and he ended up back-and-forthing with them on email which took forever and sucked . I find that the battery life sucked …was said to last 6 hours but was drained completely after 2 hrs . Perhaps the 6 hrs was if on standby. Fortunately , it does come with a cigarette light charging cable . The range of the BT leaves a lot to be desired . Don’t expect to leave the remote in the shop or parking lots and sit at the AC’d office. And monitor performance . Linking to WiFi seems erratic. And reconnecting was not automatically or intuitive . The foreign cars connectors for non OBD2 vehicles is a waste of money and space . The price should be reduced and they should be sold as an accessories pack.
I find a lot of what you say to be true but my battery lasts for days! I also watch vehicles outside from my living room with A/C no problem. Yes, I find it doesn't auto connect and missing a lot of tests....I prefer theLaunch x431 I was using at work a lot better and wished I'd bought one of those or an Autel $$$$
I just paid 1200 to get my car put of limp mode...skeptical because my code reader said it was a throttle position sensor that shouldn't be more than $200 mechanic said it was a computer issue😏 but my car was is limp mode so can't really go to far so had to bite the bullet
The D8 has gotten a lot of upgrading lately and much cheaper. We're a small shop and use a D9 pro...it's ok but doesn't seem to recognize modules I think it should at times but a decent tool overall. You get more bidirectional with D9 pro, really depends on budget and how serious you are working on many types of vehicles or just a couple. Most DIY would be well served with D8.
