Bonus. I'm always amazed how you sus out the capabilities of the GB features. That whole config with the psuedo elements, not intuitive without your video. Thank you for that.
Generate should probably add the "" to the content field automatically if the input is blank. A lot of users are gonna forget that and wonder why there's no pseudo element.
Yup -- but with an override mecanism. Greenshift does it for you automatically, but everytime I want to use actual content in there (ie. a counter), I have to use !important 🙄
Bonus! The colour picker information was very useful. Thank you for sharing. I realise this is very early days with these new modules and hopefully you can provide some more examples of how to get the most out of them in the coming weeks.
Bonus + I believe, in another video of yours, was the first time I saw transparency appended to the hex value instead of having to change to rgba (or now the editor doing it)!
I did make it to the end, but those weren't new to me 😉 Generally speaking anytime you see an hexadecimal color code (#aaaaaa), you can also use other color notations (except if the plugin/theme you're using actively prevents you from doing so.…but Generate doesn't ❤)
Thanks, this is another great and helpful video! Unfortunately there is no documentation at all on how to use the new style panel, so I always end up with try and error, which is very time-consuming. For using the new background options, this video of yours is the only instruction I have found so far. Do you have any idea what the background type 'None' is good for? That's the same as simply deleting the background, isn't it? By the way: Bonus ☺
What's great about the new global styles panel is that it just follows basic CSS (for the most part). This means you can always look up questions like this in the MDN, instead of having to have product-specific tutorials. Here's the MDN on background: developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/background Basically, "none" is just the default state background.
@@TheAdminBar Thank you very much :-) Yes, I am torn about the new styles panel. Somehow I found the old Global Styles much easier and faster to use. The new ones require much more knowledge about CSS. But still: GenerateBlocks is becoming more and more a really mature and professional system! The learning never stops 😉
Bonus! One #Q: do you have any intel from Tom about some things he mentioned in the interview with you? Afaik he mentioned a new menu and a modal. And wouldn't it be cool, if GPP added a var system for spacing as well? What can you tell us that you already know from Tom? :D
I don't have any updates on those things. It seems like 1.9/1.7 update was pretty massive and took up a lot of resources. My guess is they are working on GP next (it seems to go back and forth). 1.9/1.7 took about 9 months - I'm just hoping they get updates to more of a 3-month cadence 😬

Aw, thank you! 🙌 Glad you got something from it!

@@TheAdminBar Thank you for taking the time to answer, Kyle. Much appreciated.
Wouldn't it be simpler if you just copied and renamed the gradient-overlay class for a new photo?
