Occipital neuralgia is a common complaint I see with my patients. The main symptom includes a significant headache usually on one side behind the eye. Identification of the real culprit is necessary to best help with the symptoms. Watch to find out my take on this diagnosis.

My doctor said me I have occipital neuralgia . I feel pain in different area of head and scalp , the pain are not steady they change their position randomly . I feel it on back of head , in around temple of one side , and behind eye , but sometimes I feel it in space between eyebrows . And I also feel pain in jaw . Does anyone here have same symptoms??
Edit :- be patient , with time Everything heals . Believe on god . My pain also gone away 😋 it takes 8 months , but now I'm happy .

@@nancyguzman4685 sometimes it takes too much time, I still have some pain in nerve of back of head ,,,
With time it reduced to it's epicenter (point from where it starts)
I prefer you to don't eat food after 8pm night ,
Because if you take a minimum 12-14 hour gap your body heals itself in that time .
Instead of using energy on digesting food overnight ,,
Your body use energy to heal itself overnight 🙏
So don't eat anything after 8-9
And next day eat after 10-11 .
It too beneficial for relieving pain fast 👍
And don't bend head forward , use less Mobile phone , or use while laying down on bed ..
And sleep without pillow , on you back down chest upside
It strengthens your back and heals nerves fast 🙏
Our body has all power to recover itself , even our body daily kills a cancer cell ....
We just need to give it good time to heal 👍
      And drink more water 🙏
BECAUSE nerve cells needs water and they are weak , they take years to heal back or replace 👍
But beleive me if you did just these things , your nerves starts healing back🙏
I still have some pain, but not like 1year back pain 👍

Thank you..youve just helped me with a lightbulb moment about possible cause of my cervinogenic migraines. Laying on my right side each night reading my kindle or watching utube on my phone.I wake up most mornings with a terrible over the head migraine when ch settles behind one eye or over the temple.

Can you have Occipital nearalgia symptoms from cervicogenic headaches as my physio diagnosed me with cervicogenic headaches but I think it's occipital nearalgia

    • @lynnejackson5052

@@Kim-ss5bb i was diagnosed with cervinogenic neuralgia by one neurologist...and resulting in occipital migraines by a pain consultant......so yes i think you can is the answer. I have had nerve blocks at two occipital nerves at back of head ..then denervation three months after ....ie burning nerves . It works well to stop those types of migraine which are so very debilitating for 1to 3 days. Trouble is after a while....mine was 9 months they grow back. I have been prescribed with 75 grms of Amiltryptilene twice a day. Thats really helped with normal migraines which i get if i have more than 2 alcoholic drinks say....which starts at the left side of my face and settles over my right eye but not the occipital migraines. I am 72 this year and have suffered from the age of 16 with migraines. Its a damned nuisance to say the least.Only a fellow sufferer really understands how it impacts your life. Theres nothing to see.....your just lieing down with a hot water bottle over your head......lights down or off ...no noise ...no perfume , nauseous.....the only thing you can sip is lemonade...for 1 to 7 days. Simply awful. 💕

This is very helpful. I’ve recently diagnosed with Bilateral occipital neuralgia and I wondered if my trigger point could have been that I used mobile devices too much. Like reading in a bad head position (lying) and looking down to phone could be the culprit.

I have a problem whenever I nod my head forcefully I feel sharp pain on both side of head over the ear top back of head. Also whenever I lay down and hit top back of my head while laying on back it hurts is this because of nerves as I don't have any headache unless I do these tasks.
    Thank You

      Don't eat anything after 8pm
BECAUSE your body need to heal itself overnight ,
Instead of using energy on digesting food overnight,
don't eat after 8pm , and that last meal was a low and light meal 🙏
So your body use energy to heal itself in night ,
And next day eat after 9-10 am
Means now you are dialy fasting around 12-14 hours , and it's to beneficial fo everything ...
BECAUSE body needs to reset it overnight instead of wasting energy on digesting food ...
So do daily 12-14 hours fast🙏
And your morning meal will be heavy dm, so you adjust your calorie loss on last meal of the day 🙏

@@keniya1444 Hello, I have not seen the occipital nerve get impinged the way you are explaining. I have not done an exam on you and this is not a diagnosis. But it is possible to stress your autonomic nervous system that can lead to headaches or migraines. But you should speak to a doctor about your case:)
