      i grew up with it visiting the NY clubs when he and Nico were the Velvet Underground ..and the Banana Album seeing them at Electric Circus in NYC and ( the original ) Boston Tea Party Rock Club on East Berkley St in the old Masonic Temple in Boston in 68

      @@NorthernMike ...... without the early Bowie version very few people would have acknowledged this song, I find it interesting that Keith Richards covers it now that both Lou Reed and David Bowie are no longer with us .
