Have you seen the Rainbow High dolls? The black dolls are fire and I am an adult who has always condemned nerds that buy dolls long after they matured. Boy have I been humbled, I am one of these adults buying toys now. But that's because they didn't exist when I was a kid. Bratz came a bit late.
As someone who's an aspiring screenwriter, animation fan and artist, I'm truly disappointed at what Warner Bros. is doing. Look, I love WB, I want to create shows for them one day, but it's disgraceful what they are doing to cartoons. As Lord Hater from 'Wander Over Yonder' would say: "People who do this for a living deserve more credit and respect!".
I had no idea about your mother and I must send the traditional condolences. I know your mom must have been proud of the woman that you are and helping you get there. You always manage to teach us something new and provide food for thought. Hang in there through the challenges of loss and keep doing your best.
Let's face it. Animation is art. There's a reason why adults go to art museums. Animation and art allow us to relax our minds and explore our imagination, something that most adults don't get to do. Kids benefit from this too. For example, I can't explain the amount of happy hormones I get from watching Amphibia after a long day of work. The colors, the lines, the detail all fill my brain with a wonder that you cannot get from live tv shows. And the magical realism in cartoons allows viewers to do their own world building as well.
Rest in bite sized pieces Cartoon Network....😢👼🕊️ It's so disgusting and actually gross that animation always gets the short end of the stick. This is just a big slap in the face for people who love and make amazing animations. This is very disappointing and sad on so many levels and I have a huge migraine now. Great. 🤦♀️
First, you have just been glowing lately! I love the purple hair on you. You look so good ❤ But, I’m going to miss CN studios. I haven’t been on HBO max in almost 4 months because it’s just disappointing what this merge has done to animation. Everyone wants to tell me “just watch anime” but I love animation too! Anime is its own separate place in my heart. It is sad times for animation fr.
This bullshit with David Zasalav and the discovery+ merger just angers me to no end. CN Studios literally was my childhood and is probably my favourite of the big cartoon networks…Really gonna miss them. When DISNEY is treating Animation the best among the big studios, you know you effed up.
The fact I just got an ad for this studio called pencilish that was asking for people to invest in their studio so that their cartoons can see the light of day
Look what they've done to The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown! Now it won't be coming on cable anymore but only on one streaming service. Animation is doomed by studios.
1) ACBT hasn't aired on cable since 2000. You mean TV entirely. 2) CNS merging with WBA doesnt prove the Animation industry is "doomed". It's still alive and well and still will be soon after.
@@andrewpollard_ 1. I didn't bring up one specific company. 2. Little things add up. First HBO then cartoon network. 3. It's my opinion and prediction. You don't have to agree.
I would love to hear you talk about what is happening in the animation industry in Asia. People have been treated horribly for many, many years. The game industry, the CGI studio's, the animation studio's... The stories that come from those industries are heartbreaking.
My hope in big companies controlling animation has died to barely anything. I now just have faith in small, independent, and/or international animation studios. I would rather support the animators, voice actors, producers, etc. directly at this point as much as I can and I support them breaking off from corpos trying to control the creative process or just killing it all together. I love animation as much as I love indie video games, the medium is capable of so much beauty compared to live action (which has it's own beauty) but I appreciate animation way more to the bottom of my heart. I love making games and drawing art (idk why I love such time expensive hobbies, but I value them and the people that work on and make them so much.) I hope animation studios can find support in the fanbase like Helluva Boss did and (hopefully) Lackadaisy Cats will soon. Also in terms of Anime, support the Animator's Dormitory if you can. They are spearheading the movement to get proper housing and support for animators in Japan.
I wished some past/presence Cartoons that were broadcast worldwide by Cartoon Network are finally released onto complete DVD collection at last like Yogi's Treasure Hunt, The Addams Family 1992, Mucha Lucha, Chaotic, Wacky Race reboot, Thundercats Roar, Gormiti Nature Unleashed, Gormiti Heralds of Gorm and Jellystones.
You want to hear something funny? A person in the comments this one time told me that there was this guy once who was surprised to make the discovery that animation was actually done by adults and not children. This guy honestly believed that powerpuff girls, Arthur, fairly odd parents, cyberchase, Ed Edd n Eddy, justice league, and teen titans was placed on network television by actual children for no other reason because it was animated. It for the first time that day discovered that all animations that he’s seen was actually made by adults! 🤣 😂. The level of sheer stupidity with these people is unimaginable!!
Honestly the entire shitshow that's been happening this year is kind of why I'm glad I ended up not going into the industry, I know I could not mentally handle what I work on having much payout and getting treated like shit. Huge props to all the creators who keep going, and getting paid literal pennies and lint for it. I love cartoons and anime so much, it's painful how horrific the industry is (and not even just cartoons; since you brought up pokemon, the animated series has been getting screwed due to short staffing and poor pay and pokemon fans are just attacking the workers trying so hard instead of getting angry at the higher ups allowing the situation)
I'm sad, but not surprised. I had a sinking feeling CN was heading in this direction when they announced the return of live-action shows because they thought "girls graduate from animation"...and it only worsened when the Warner Bros./Discovery merger happened, thus causing HBO Max to remove a large amount of its content. Now I'm really worried. :/
Johnny Yong Boach said that his favorite role is voicing Ichigo Kurosaki in the English dub of Bleach. He even English dubbed Ichigo in the live action Netflix movie. The misery of the fact that Voice actors in Japan are well known by fans to the point they have death threat sending fans. People love animation. More adults than the old fossils think. Heck I finished watching Arcane today and it was magnificent.
I would love a video about the anime industry. But I will definitely be doing my research about the goings on. Is it just the Japanese anime market or are there issue with Korean and Chinese, which I think are the other big anime markers?
It makes me mad how corporations never support their brands a lot of the time even if the ratings and/or acclaim are high. Merch for cartoons is SOOO RARE. And the people outside of viewing cartoons keep belittling cartoons they did not know as always shows that lost the company money from that show just being what it was and not blame how a lot of them don’t like engaging in kids cartoons to begin with or say that the marketing for cartoons is always WEAK. These people are hypocritical when they ask for new stuff. They support new live action stuff but those people never support new cartoons. And cartoons are just stuck in this cycle of either you’re a Spongebob TTG or a show that dies through lack of support or confidence to do anything with. With anime, there is at least a merch line or manga line for certain IPs to get financials on that is NOT JUST the ratings and sponsors. But for cartoons, you both have a majority of people who do not like to watch cartoons and no merchandise for people to support the brand with. The lack of adaptation to sudden fandoms is horrible also. Hot Topic Invader Zim shirt sales is the peak of a cartoon show actually adapting to its fanbase.
Im a teenager, I been watching cartoons since I can remember I even make my own little cartoons I never understand why people make fun of us for watching it, now it seems like more adults like the shows
To be honest, this is why Anime is doing so well, in Japan, they understand that art and animation is a medium used to tell amazing stories. They understand that adults and teens (plus girls since CN said they don't like cartoons which is a lie!) like animation, plus they dedicate themselves to art and animation to the point of becoming masters at it. However, it's also sad because many are underpaid and overworked to the point of breakdown. And they live in poverty. That needs to change. There needs to be a union in Asia/Japan for animators/mangaka. But compare western animation to Japan and you see how out of this world anime animation is to western. Only Disney/CN/Nick (used to) create great movies and animated series, but now it seems like even their animation is dying. It's all about Frozen, and although they are making new cartoon shows it's all going to Disney plus without much marketing/promo. Anime pushes the boundaries and does not play it safe like cartoons nowadays, which was not the way it was in the past. It's so sad CN is getting axed because it can still pop in today's era, they just need to let good artists and storytellers be able to create without being constrained. Look at the hell that happened to Infinity Train? A great cartoon with story-driven topics and it had a lot of streams/views, but it got removed from every streaming sight? Disney is not enough to create cartoons, Nickelodeon cartoons are not being promoted either. I don't like how cartoons aren't taken seriously, and how tik tok/social media is becoming kids childhood instead of cartoons/shows on kids' channels.
Wasn't the guy from 14:33 in a Simpson's episode? The only reason I found out it was an actual show and not just a Simpsons was because my parents told me
This might be obvious, but it’s also really big. And you understand the current political situation which we know is very much affecting what’s going on with the DCEU and Warner. I say all that to say it’s up to us now. The people. We have the tools, the numbers and the talent to produce entertainment and animation just not the will. I mean to control it. And it’s far easier then everyone realizes. People support creators, creators support creators and creators create. That’s what the right wing is trying to do like Ben Shapiro’s movie company and things like Truth Social. It’s just that the right is evil and suck at art. I also say this because you are young and have way more time than I do. (I’m at that age where Death texts you every other month to say “what’s up, thinking about you.”) People can t control the art, they just have to want to. And I maintain, it is that simple.
I'm so happy that you brought this up. I'm noticing it as well, animation is getting alot of hate these days. For me animation is very special, I grew up watching alot of cartoons more than live action. As I got older and began to have a love for art in general I wanted to become an animator and work at Disney. I don't understand why people think animation fans are crazy just because we love a medium that helps us understand the world around us. I know it helped me because I'm a visual person. my parents dont mind that i love animation but sometimes they tokd that im avbit to old to watch movies like Encanto which hurt me a bit. If it wasn't for animation I don't think I would have still had been friends with one of my high school friends that I still talk to. And I'm a apart of a Fandom to. as a Brony I relate to characters like twilight and fluttershy, and even Luz from owl house. support indie films and shops peace.
Maybe it could be because of how unfortunately some creators end up showing that they can be just as corrupt and scummy as the corporate industries. It's basically their no better than them, and would become hypocrites. Like Butch Hartman, Seth McFarlane, Hayao Miyazaki, John Kricfalushi, Chris Savino, Stephen Silver, Thomas Astruc, and Hiroyuki Seshita. Due to people being disrespectful to criticism(Which I can't blame them since no one likes to be told they are wrong) having huge egos, and at worse sexual harassers. It feels like putting them on a pedestal to the point where people end up getting so entitled that it ends up spoiling everything else. Which probably turned off many people to the point where they don't want tp associate anymore with them. Since that's adding to the "pretentious and delusional artist" stereotypes, and with those 8 people I've mentioned, it serves them right.

Warner is losing it. First, cutting off multiple animated series, then changing how CNS will run in the future. wtf
animation is one of the artforms that benefits from money & time but also the one that gets shafted most often rip
