Here is an Iraqi. The war is very different. We were stupid because of the American propaganda that said that Iraq would become Dubai, especially since Iraq is rich in oil. The army decided not to participate in the war in defense of Saddam. There were very severe sanctions against Iraq for more than 13 years. The people were hungry and the children were dying of hunger. Iraq did not have a single plane because the planes were destroyed during the year 1991, and one of the conditions of the United States for the surrender of Iraq during the Kuwait war was to abandon the Iraqi missile program, which was developed, Iraq didn't even have powerful missiles! It became clear after the war that everything was a lie and that the United States wanted to destroy the country, not restore it...

Ukraine wasn't heavily supplied with western aid early in the war as they are now, much of what they were using were their own Soviet gear. As the months passed, we now see them with more NATO-Standard gear, and it takes time to integrate these new arms effectively into your military. While they were getting military aid from 2014 to 2021, it wasn't anywhere near the scale it is now and was not to a level that greatly bolstered Ukraine against an invading force. So the argument of Ukraine being supplied by an entire alliance isn't as strong in this video which covers the first 46 days.

Apart from couple of mistakes in the map such as the northern part of Iraq being grey (Americans are there since 1991 and you can say it is similar to Crimea), this is like comparing a watermelon to a cherry. In 2003, the difference between the Iraqi army and current Ukrainian army that fights Russia is bigger compared to the difference between the US and the Russian armies.
    1. Iraq was a middle eastern country run by an idiot while Ukraine is an ex-Soviet semi-nuclear country with the army being run by Soviet vets and NATO.
    2. Iraq was sanctioned for 12 years and bombed right and left during those years before the invasion. + people were tired literally in every aspect.
    3. There are lots of nationalists in Ukraine who are ready to die for their cause while I don't believe there were even few thousands in Iraq who wanted to fight.
    4. Allies Allies Allies. Ukraine is supported by tens of countries who continuously replace their loses and has open borders with both Poland and Romania. Iraq (or Saddam) had problems with everyone around him. The least of his enemies was Jordan whose kings have been western puppets since day one.
Basically, Iraq lost almost everything in 1991, whatever left was destroyed by the UN or US bombing
    5. Geography: around 1/3 of Iraq is a desert and impossible to defend against any force with air superiority (not even supremacy). The southwestern part consists of distantly built towns in middle of the desert which were skipped by the US. Ukraine, on the other hand, contains lots of forests and small towns/villages that can be used to stall the enemy.
I could count several more differences but this comparison is silly so these points are enough.

With 5000 Russian tanks(many of them were T-72’s), several hundred modern Russian fighter aircraft like Mig-29’s, Mig-25’s and Su-25’s and helicopters. They also had thousands of Russian SAM systems such as the SA-6, SA-7, SA-8, SA-9 and SA-10 which were modern for the time(GO LOOK THEM UP). Also had thousands of MANPADS. Iraq had a standing army of nearly 700,000 men
The US defeated Iraq in a month while taking less than 500 casualties. Destroyed thousands of tanks and armored vehicles, SAMs, Ballistic missile launchers, artillery, and destroyed or grounded all their Aircraft and the few aircraft that remained fled into Iran. Effectively wiped out their entire military
In 1991 and 2003 America gained air superiority over Iraq in a single day. Russia hasn’t gained air superiority against 1980’s era SAMs and aircraft even after 12 months. And in 1991 Iraq had a much larger and more powerful military than Ukraine does now(Relatively Speaking). But because nobody knew what they were doing, Russia didn’t act quick enough, Ukraine got time to redeploy units to Kiev, and the Russian army was quickly suffering from a lack of supplies as their plan failed miserably. No they weren't. The US left Iraq alone after they bitchslapped them in 1991. Then they bombed them at some point(I think it was in 1998) because they refused to allow the UN to inspect their weapons. Then Bush went in and the bombing campaign only lasted a single day before the troops entered the country.
That shocked the entire Iraqi military who was expecting a one month bombing campaign like in Desert Storm and caused many of them to surrender or desert immediately.

Comparing both is stupid. Iraq was attacked by NATO while Ukraine is backed by them, regardless of if you believe the russian narrative ot not. Also Russia has a different goal and is using a different strategy.
The west tried to secure iraqi oil, for that they simply needed to destabilize the country and secure the oil fields. Meanwhile russia is trying to install a puppet government and annex some territory, for that you cant just bypass mayor settlements.
The coalition had overwhelming air superiority so whenever there was any form of large resistance they could just bomb it. Russia is relying mostly on artillery which takes longer and is less precise.

    It's a funny comparison.
1)Iraq is mostly desert - where rainfall is rare (if there is any at all) - Ukraine, on the other hand, is swamps in the North, forests of the East, roadless areas where everything gets stuck in (in spring, fall and after the rains).
    2) In Iraq it is enough to block the logistics routes and everything will collapse - you will not drive a tank in a clean desert. In Ukraine, when it is dry - you can move through the fields
3)US propaganda and sanctions greatly weakened Iraq (it's like the USSR under the Iron Curtain, when the USSR had no one to trade with).
4)The army practically did not fight (Iraqi army)
5)while Iraq was weakened, in Ukraine after the coup, with the help of the US, the US and the EU, actively supplied arms to Ukraine and trained soldiers.
    6) In contrast to the U.S., the Russian Armed Forces did not destroy all communication at the beginning of the war, and initially acted quite mildly from a military point of view.
    7) Compare the size of Iraq and Ukraine, as well as their populations.
    8) Technology - now the intelligence and preparedness of countries is much higher than back then.
9)While Iraq was alone and weakened, Ukraine is supported by the entire bloc of the EU and the US.

The two wars are really uncomparable though? Not on the side of Russia, but Ukraine would have fallen within weeks had it been in the same situation as Iraq. Iraq by the point of Desert Storm was an backwater dictatorship, incredibly disloyal population with a military akin to North Korea, ie humongous manpower wise, but choked logistically, decades outdated equipment etc. Iraq faced a Coalition of the worlds richest nations, including the US who spends more on their military than the next couple powers combined...
Ukraine, meanwhile? Ukraine is the largest country in Europe apart from Russia, Ukraine has a population loyal to the government, Ukraine's geography is vast, and mostly flat, but also pretty densely populated throughout, however most importantly Ukraine has backing from the entirety of NATO who collectively make up a good portion of the worlds economy. Ukraine has received more in military aid than the whole annual budget of Russia multiplied and definitely vastly more than Ukraine's own military budget. If Ukraine had no allies, was sanctioned for years beforehand , then it would have gone exactly the same way as Iraq.

Iraq war 2 in not comparable to Ukraine because the US had total air superiority for years when I remember Clinton bombing factories with suspected military manufacturing but it turned out to be pharmaceuticals, didn't have any allies giving them weapons and training pre invasion, Iraq war 1 decimated their forces, sanctions destroyed their economy and lowered health rates. I only can think of the Spanish civil war to compare it to as I watched the Coup of 2014 happen and multiple factions broke off with Stalin, london and the US supplying one side with the opposed as the mid century Germans and Italians.

there is something you were wrong with, the americans lost over 3k soldiers in the first days of the invasion of iraq including 2k soldiers died in the baghdad international airport but in the entire war the american defense ministry announced that they lost over 40k soldiers in 2008 and over 228k soldiers were wounded
but there is a website i will name it in my reply that they lost over 73k soldiers in iraq.
in ukraine the ukrainians also resisted the russian invasion and they made the russians lose over 8k soldiers and over 600 tanks in one year but there is one we can agree with zelensky without nato would be wiped out although the ukrainians would resist but not strong like the modern resistance.
in iraq the country was isolated and with no military support but although they have managed to make the americans suffer a lot in just two weeks though
the main difference here is the russians wanted to invade ukraine because they wanted to prevent nato influence over eastern europe but in iraq the americans invaded the country because they wanted it for oil ( i explained this in my history of iraq video ) but the big problem they suffered is the immortal insurgency that the us failed to topple ( i have watched dozens of videos of iraqi militant groups recording videos of them killing americans and destroying their vehicles )
but in the end both wars are stupid because the ones who made it could have solved with simple solutions
