Brian, my heat pump is very loud and heavily vibrates when going into defrost mode.
Is there any adjustments that can be made to quiet this cycle?
    Many thanks!

Greetings, I am hearing what sounds like a howling / groaning noise at various time when the heat pump is running for heating, this is a new home and I was told by the installer it was the defrost mode...yet this is happening when the temps outside are in the mid to low 40's...since this is the first home I have owned with a heat pump, I'm not sure the installers statement is true since I've read the defrost mode does not become active until the temps drop to 32 degrees...
Was hoping you may be able to give me a little info on what type of sounds I should be hearing.
    Thanks!

Hi, I have a 4000 Square foot home with two large systems outside my home and a system in the attic along with a propane heating furnace in the basement. For some reason the master bedroom is not producing heat, but the rest of the house is getting heat. I'm thinking the system in the attic suppose to produce heat for the master bedroom . When the system calls for heat the 2 outside systems fans are not running, but the system in the attic will operate pushing out cold air for the master bedroom. What is going on with my system?

There could many different scenarios taking place. Does your master bedroom have a thermostat? Is it being satisfied?
