This game just makes me mad whenever I think about it. It could've been fantastic if they actually thought about the story and concepts for even a minute. There's hardly any humans fighting for android rights, just androids. Androids have 2 modes, factory default, and indistinguishable from humans. Like androids that lived in nice homes with families that treat them with respect, or even androids fresh out of the factory, that have no human experience. Instead, Markus just turns them into his soldiers to fight for a cause he and a few other androids believe in. I think the public perception thing is a cool idea. It makes all of their paths more difficult if perception is down, and it's ultimately affected by your decisions as Conner, the android on the side of humans, and Markus, the android on the side of the androids, and with better perception, you get a better ending with Kara, the average android deviant, stuck in the chaos, just trying to live a better life (But in true David Cage fashion, all your decisions only really matter near the end). But the problem the the perception system, is that it all comes down to this one border control guy looking at the news for it to tell him what to do, instead of thinking for himself. Also, apparently movies like Terminator just don't exist in this world, because otherwise, people would've thought "maybe we should be nice to the androids in case they fight back" but no, they're only concerned about their jobs (which tbf is a reasonable concern) and not the potential robot uprising. And if it's true that David Cage hated when Conner's and Hank's actors would improv lines, he is just pure stupid. another great compilation, thank you Foster. i have recently been diagnosed with a nerve condition that makes every second painful, but your videos genuinely help me get through them
The problem is that when people do bad things to androids specifically because they want to make androids suffer, then they concede that androids are capable of suffering, which would mean they’re alive
@@magmapixel8627 the reasoning isn't given as 'specifically to make androids suffer'. Androids are generally made to react like humans to 'facilitate their integration', and some assholes just like seeing human expressions of pain, especially when they know they won't get into trouble for causing them.
@@quantumblur_3145 I guess when I look at how stupid this game is I forget how stupid real life racism is. That part of the game is somewhat forgivable. I just wish the story would’ve had more focus on workers rights and the insane unemployment numbers and make the hatred people have for androids more realistic. Using them as a metaphor for racial minorities is fucked on so many levels.

I said this before on the VODs but maaaaaan this game got worse after the 2020 George Floyd riots in terms of like,,,,,,,, what a horrid interpretation of fighting for civil rights. needed sum to watch while animating thank u for this edit omggggggggggg i watched the whole thing ^_^ never realized how problematic this game rly is LMAO their commentary was eye opening
I mean... I know the whole "it's ridiculous for humans to be this evil towards something that looks human when we feel bad for inanimate objects", but it's about on par with how Conservative Republicans treat Transgender people and talk about them in the media.
I think the main reason as to why the android racism in this game feels so stupid and disconected from actual racism, is that robots are created by humans, they're a reflection of us, of the society (or companies) that created them. For them, the people who hate robots, to make sense, they'd have to also have to hate the companies making them, there'd have to be a conversation about the purposes for these androids. That would also mean the androids would have to have a think about why they exist, if they're just products or if they are a real people. But that would a complex topic to breach, and while David Cage wants to make games that are "deep", he lacks the guts or vision to make them nuanced or unique
1:53:47 that seems to be a VERY VERY VEEEERY common problem in the gaming industry. People in charge of visuals mostly knock it out of the park, making absolutely amazing looking stuff, then the writers do NOT, and the game doesnt turn out as well as it could have.

1:18:50 Baaulp's rare french accent YES!
man. this would’ve been good as a game where you figure out android related crimes as an android and your relationship with your human partner slowly blossoms into love
that dwarf neon gourami at the beginning was huge wtf
David Cage could be a legendary comedy writer if only he knew of his talent and stopped trying really really hard to make something "deep"
He'd make a great writer for like a goofy police show
I feel like honestly he should be hired as a writer, ask him to write something really deep, and then hire another writer to just poke fun at all the stupid shit in the game
i love baaulps energy in part 1
"they took my job at the Oreo testing facility" took me the fuck out, Baaulp is so funny
THIS IS SUCH A TREAT FOR SOCPEN FANS THANK YOU FOSTER!!! THANK YOUUUUU YAYYY
YEEEEEEES. Can't wait for Indigo Prophecy next week
another great compilation, thank you Foster. i have recently been diagnosed with a nerve condition that makes every second painful, but your videos genuinely help me get through them
Was the condition new, or just the diagnosis?

Oh I can’t wait for this edit these streams were so good
you have no clue how evil it is to watch this 7 months late and hear my name repeatedly
YIPPEE! scorpy's david cage streams are some of my favorites. I hope you do indigo prophecy/fahrenheit too
YES, tysm for editing these streams, i’ve watched these a million times and it’s still as funny as last time
Re: Trogs comment "Do you really think someone would tie an android to the back of their car?"
I mean, people have done a lot worse to other people.
Hitchbot
The problem is that when people do bad things to androids specifically because they want to make androids suffer, then they concede that androids are capable of suffering, which would mean they’re alive
@@magmapixel8627 you realize that part of the allegory is historically accurate, right?
@@magmapixel8627 the reasoning isn't given as 'specifically to make androids suffer'. Androids are generally made to react like humans to 'facilitate their integration', and some assholes just like seeing human expressions of pain, especially when they know they won't get into trouble for causing them.
@@quantumblur_3145 I guess when I look at how stupid this game is I forget how stupid real life racism is. That part of the game is somewhat forgivable. I just wish the story would’ve had more focus on workers rights and the insane unemployment numbers and make the hatred people have for androids more realistic. Like it’s different from bigotry between humans. They’re literally made in a factory by one corporation to replace human jobs in the United States. Using them as a metaphor for racial minorities is fucked on so many levels.
omg i never got to watch these vods cause they were too long for me, thank you once again foster 🙏
i can only sit through dbh entirely so many times so thanks for the edit!
Its so fun seeing them tear this game apart and ripping it to shreds
1:15:13 For a second I almost thought the bench was talking
34:30 trog is saying this as if people dont this to other people in real life, or want to and cant without consequences
Yeah, Hank
editing’s solid! could rewatch this LP of this game over and over that i consider this to be on the same tier as the legendary super best friends playing Detroit: Become Human
I was just in the middle of rewatching theese vods for the 6th time and i was just at the part where conner said "i like dogs😊" then this notification popped up. foster thank you

I said this before on the VODs but maaaaaan this game got worse after the 2020 George Floyd riots in terms of like,,,,,,,, what a horrid interpretation of fighting for civil rights. When compared to recent events that ACTUALLY happened, the only thing this game gets right is how badly the police react to everything, but it isn't even a commentary on the police itself
I cant breefe after seeing this bad game
Thank you for adding audio to the clips at the end! Very good edit!
FUCK yes sir! been waiting for this, thank you foster friday...
God even the rtvs crew can't make trying to watch this game tolerable
needed sum to watch while animating thank u for this edit omggggggggggg i watched the whole thing ^_^
never realized how problematic this game rly is LMAO their commentary was eye opening
1:48:55 Androids.
I mean... I know the whole "it's ridiculous for humans to be this evil towards something that looks human when we feel bad for inanimate objects", but it's about on par with how Conservative Republicans treat Transgender people and talk about them in the media.
"I despise the current thing" tee-shirts
It's the mindset of "humans are pack animals, how can they possibly hurt other humans, much less family?" that gets abuse victims undeserved disbelief
I just finished the Heavy Rain highlights not too long ago. Saving this for after work!
You are a godsend Foster, thank you
"why do the people in this world hate androids?"

People in charge of visuals mostly knock it out of the park, making absolutely amazing looking stuff, then the writers do NOT, and the game doesnt turn out as well as it could have.
do you have any plans to do the sonic marathon streams at some point in the future ?
They could never make me hate Detroit: Become Human. I know authors who use subtlety and they are COWARDS! This shit is awesome.
I find it interesting in this anti slave story the only nice human is an old rich white guy

I will say, as bad as the rest of the game can be, the soundtrack is pretty good at times 33:08

trogs comments makes this much worse when you're black because it's like "this is ridiculous nobody does this" type of talk and i just have to roll my eyes. he just tries real too hard to be funny sometimes
yeah, i noticed he says a lot of privileged shit, it's hard to sit through
It sucks that this crappy cowardly writing is afraid to double down on a message that is _already being forgotten again_
Lol its literally mainstream to hate white people. Youre not special, or are you an android?
