    I am an Audi guy and currently own one. So for me its a no brainier. But if you are using the Camaro as a weekend car and a toy, not a daily driver with more than one person its a great sounding V8 and fun as hell. The Audi is more practical for sure! If you have more than 2 people the Audi makes sense. Kids can fit fine in the Camaro in the back though.

    Caranddriver tested a 2018 RS5 and 2019 Camaro SS. RS5 did 0-60, 1/4 mile, and 0-150mph in 3.8, 12.2, and 23.3 seconds respectively. RS5 did those in 3.5, 11.9, and 23.8 respectively. RS5 is AWD so it will launch harder. But from a roll race a Camaro SS or LT1 will always win.

    Seems like SS is pulling /catching up against the RS5 on higher speeds.

    2 friends with the RS5....the big difference is this, My SS hasn't been to shop once with a hard 50k miles on it. Both friends with RS5s have had theirs in shop multiple times. One had his in shop for transmission within the first 3k miles... They had it 2 weeks. He gets it back, runs it at track 1 night, back in shop for fuel and ignition probs, sat there for 2 more weeks, gets it back, goes on a road trip, dealer has to tow it 400 miles back with ignition probs. All this within first 6k miles. Second friend, a lot more miles.... Constantly in shop for similar issues. As a matter of fact, I gave him rides for almost a month while they sorted out a major computer issue. He got it back a month and ended up having to replace his entire transmission, then fuel pump. He was an Uber driver and a Doordasher. He also had an Audi TT before that lived in the dealership for most the time he owned it. I had a 2009 A5 after I sold my older Camaro and that car's interior sounded like it was coming apart. It also was constantly in the shop for the transmission. I spent $4400 on transmission work on it the first year I owned it with 54k miles on it and got absolute trash for trade in when getting my 2014 Tahoe. My gf had a A4, also hated it for reliability.

    How about the Camaro in your video is in sport mode not in Track competitive mode that is made for racing .. 🤔
    And the driver doesn't really know how to use launch control

    • @trip4life32
      @trip4life32 2 года назад +9

      Yea, this is a terrible video. Between the mode not being correct, and failure to use launch mode.. this is basically a rigged video to justify bruised Audi egos. I used to drive an S4 and loved it, but my SS Camaro destroys it. It’s common knowledge.

    • @DarkSession6208
      @DarkSession6208 Год назад +2

      @@trip4life32 Your S4 is nothing compared to a RS5. The RS5 will always destroy a base Camaro (excluding ZL). The 6th gen Camaro does 100-200 in 10.1 Secs, the RS5 B9 does 100-200 in 8.9-9.2 measured with a GPS box, which shows pretty much the same as in this video.

      @@DarkSession6208 What you mustn't forget, of course, is the price.
      An RS5 costs a good €30K more here in Germany... (New)
      On top of that, it's also a naturally aspirated vs. bi-turbo. In my opinion, the Camaro performs pretty well here.

    Everything doesn't come down to HP, Power to weight ratio is a big factor and Audi has a fast reving engine, whereas camaro is a big 6.2 that is slow reving engine.

    Camaro is way cheaper, sounds better and is a lot more fun to drive. Plus, mods are very cheap and easy.
