      Thank you! It will be a simple series where each episode is focused on growing one plant and tips on growing them. The sunflowers are just my tips but I've been talking to some old farmers as well as local master gardeners to share some tips that will hopefully be beneficial to beginners as well as maybe even some that have been gardening for a long time. 😊💕 I'll trickle the episodes out as I have them ready but I hope to have a pretty fun playlist of them by the time I'm done!

    Love growing sunflowers every year. Some years are better than others. Squirrel and deer love my sunflowers too.

      The critters definitely like to help themselves to the sunflowers, lol. I plan to plant more next year and allow nature to thin them out for me. 😆🌻💕

    Hello my gorgeous ray of sunshine!! Oh my gosh the height!! And they would have gone higher !! The seeds are MASSIVE! Sunflowers are my absolute fav flower…….. you cannot look at a sunflower 🌻 and not smile :) great video lovely xx 💝🌼🌻

    Those were some ginormous sunflowers, Andrea. Squirrels and rabbits ate some of ours as they were first coming up, but we endeavored to persevere, "Outlaw Jose Wales reference".

    Wow those are huge and tall. I want to try to grow the Mongolian sunflower, I grew the Mammoth. I did know they dont always produce seeds until oyu told me to check mine and I did find seeds in them. You are the queen of Sunflowers, your husband looked so short over there measuring them compared to the height of the Sunflower😆

      LOL!! A friend of mine watched one of our sunflower videos before meeting him in person and she was stunned because he's so tall. Hahaha

      Barb you should definitely grow some! They're so pretty, the pollinators love them, you can grow pole beans up the stalk, AND you'll get sunflower seeds out of it! 😍🌻💕

    Your sunflowers did so good. Something ate ours. I tried sprinkling with red pepper flakes, but that didn't deter animals. Beautiful. I will have to try those kind next year. Thanks for the tips. Great editing too.

    Love sunflowers. They are my favorite and I have alot of them throughout the house. One I preserved through its stem by letting it soak up silicone while it was alive from a fresh cut. I've had it for years. Yours are the largest ones I've ever seen, awesome. I hopped on the bus. I look forward to sharing many more videos with you. Have a great night! 🤗💕🌻

      I amended heavily with fresh compost and they really seemed to appreciate that! I can't wait to see how big they will be next year with some mid season fertilizer too!

    Those things are crazy big !! I like the tip of sow closer then thinning but we have "issues" with thinning lol.

      Teddy bears are cute! They're such a unique looking sunflower! I'm pretty sure I have some seeds that I never planted of those (because I have a seed collecting problem 😆).
      I don't like thinning either but the squirrels thinned for us pretty aggressively. Haha!

      Shelling them and roasting for #50DollarFebruary2023 lol, I need as many food options as possible since we're producing most of what we eat for that month. I love sunflower seeds on my salads. 😁

      They were so fun to grow! It was hard to measure the height at the end because they got so tall we couldn't read the measuring tape without folding it and bringing it down. lol!

    How long do mammoth sunflowers bloom for? Specifically Grey stripe.

      It's going to vary with each variety a bit but ours were in bloom for a few weeks.

    A a curiosity, did you ever measure what the average yield of seeds in lbs or kilogrammes you got from a single flower?

      I didn't think about weighing them but I would guesstimate that I got a couple cups worth from the largest sunflower head.

      I'm curious because I'm trying to help a very poor family (living on $2/day) in west Africa to get an alternative source of income by producing oilseed from sunflower.

      @@azaz700 Black seed oil sunflowers I believe are what is typically grown for sunflower oil. They're very large fields of sunflowers. We actually have a local sunflower farm. They also make side money from photographers that like to use the field when in full bloom for family photos.

      Surprisingly even with tons of squirrels in my yard they were only a minor annoyance until this year when they started really tearing things up. 😅 We have done multiple things this year to distract and discourage. Squirrel feeders and we even got a squirrel bungee feeder for some laughs but they wouldn't touch it. Haha, I think they were on to me. 🤣
      I've been planning on doing a video to share all the things we tried this year. I just got behind on editing! Thank you so much for stopping by and watching!
