- In today's video I am harvesting seeds from my sunflowers! My Mammoth grey striped sunflowers. I grew these after seeing Laura @Garden Answer grow these giants & I am so glad I did!
Dont ever apologize for being proud of your adorable great children or for being a wonderful mom! If people dont like you including your kids, they can leave. As long as your not exploiting them for views your great!
Ty for that!

Beautiful sunflowers. We totally fail with ours this year. Well better luck next time I guess. -Daniel
Really? What happened?
I'm here because the tiny wild sunflowers grow everywhere I live lol so I thought it'd be interesting what type of sunflower people eat, I might grow some too
Are you sure theyre sunflowers? there are some flowerd- like rudbeckias- that look just like sunflowers, but theyre not.
Definitely recommend growing! They're beautiful!
I dont know how you handle Littles babes and all those flowers. Great job Candace !!!
It can be difficult! I usually don't even try to do anything in the garden when the little one is awake because he will either stomp on the plants or try to pull them out, etc. But there are times when I have to because something HAS to be dealt with or harvested or something... & then when he is distracted by a toy or his little swingset or something I can't really do anything in the garden, because I can't see him, & #1 we don't have a fence & we live on a highway, #2 we live on a corner lot so it's off the highway & another street & the people that live across the street fly out of their driveway, across the highway, onto our side street (even when there is clearly no cars coming!?!) & im always so scared he might run into the road #3 he never does anything for more than a couple minutes lol. 🤞fingers crossed that next year when he is 3, he won't be so destructive to the plants & well have a fence!
Beautiful 💕
I know this is a year ago however this video was so refreshing and brought pure JOY to see your babies helping out This will be my first time growing sunflowers ever but i cant wait to get growing. Absolutely helpful and beautiful. 😀🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
Awww! Ty so much for that comment! Yea I try to let them help whenever possible, even if that means it's going to take me much longer... thats hpw they learn, by exploring & trying things out on their own!
@@ElderandOakFarm yes i totally agree.🤗🤗
I agree! I'm sure she will really cherish these in just a few years, but really when they're a lot older!
Hello Amazing ❤❤❤
Ty!
The The The Big Lie was the most popular movie ever written and the best one of all times is still
Never seen it! I will look into it.
We grow a few sunflowers each year. But this year my granddaughter and I are trying to dry some for next year. We tied a few up inside a paper sack and hung it in the shed. Now that I've seen your video I'm going to change the way we do it next year. We don't have a favorite, we just grab what looks good or order something we don't see locally. Enjoyed as always! Take care!
Thanks so much for sharing! That's awesome! Yes it's almost impossible to pick a favorite! My son really like the "double quick" & the" teddy bear" varieties this year! Maybe give those a try!
I`m mass planting black oil and striped seeds this year in the nearby goldenrod field and along my 600 ft driveway. There`s a mama deer living here though and she passes through my yard and I see where she grazes the wild lettuce in the area. I successfully grew a few sunflowers from bird seed last year despite the armadillos. What are the striped grey sunflowers in bird seed? I can`t afford to pay 7 bucks for a small pack of mammoth sunflower seeds when armadillos may uproot them again. And I can`t afford to buy bird seed each month for the gang of them here in rural Louisiana. So I need to plant a giant patch.
I'm not sure what to recommend. No matter what variety you plant, you are going to have birds or something wanting to eat them.So I would just plant the least expensive Friday. You can find.
It looks like mind don’t have shells but petals are gone. Is it ready to harvest ?
Try rubbing on the front of it and seeing if the little florets come off. If you do not see any shells behind it then it isn't ready. You will be able to notice them very obviously.
