I am growing sunflowers for the first time this year and I cannot wait to see just how big they get! I started them in the ground very early, so their peak size is very intriguing to me 👊🏻🌻👊🏻
@@baddogcustoms7496Hey my friend! They are still growing up and seem to get close to blooming. They are close to the bottom of the gutter at this point (9 feet tall). I planted grey striped mammoth subflowers. I recently planted another section with several varieties for fun to see how late into the season I can go 👊🏻🌻👊🏻
Awesome Video you have mate and God Bless your wonderful day!!! This is my 4th year planting sunflowers since I live in Fayetteville, NC and we get pretty Hot/Humid summers. Although when I first planted Russian Mammoth sunflowers in 2020, the results were surprising which I Thank God for it. It grew up to 6ft tall exact same size small head what you showed in a video. However I had a lack of experience and did not use fertilizer for the first time and planted them in the ground. Cut the heads way too early and the seeds got moldy. In 2021 and 2022 seasons I had several attempts planting sunflowers however those 2 summers were ridiculously hot so the stalks instantly died. No matter if I used enough water. Then when summer 2023 hit, the temperatures weren’t as hot as it was compared to 2022 but certain periods were hot which in return we had massive rainfalls and plenty of precipitation after humidity. I used Cow Manure for Skyscraper Sunflower and the stalk in comparison to 2020 was thicker by 0.5 inches in circumference. I’ve waited longer for the seeds to be mature and for me personally sunflower season 2023 was the best one I’ve had and kept the skyscraper seeds for Sunflower season 2024 to plant them. Although the skyscraper’s height was shorter than I am since I’m almost 6’3. I’ve planted 6 sunflowers in front of the house, 6th sunflower is in between 2 air conditioners where there’s plenty of sunlight and 7 more in the backyard. I probably used 5 skyscraper sunflowers from last year and planted them with cow manure which the brand is called Black Kow manure in the yellow bag. It rained a lot and planted them on April 19th 2024 so God Permit the temperatures are going to be steady around 75-80 degrees Fahrenheit and no rain for next week. I also bought Mammoth Grey Stripe which I couldn’t find them in the stores for 3 years and used them to plant with cow manure. My question I have is this: If I dig the ground 6-8 inches deep, filled in with cow manure, and planted the seed, will I get better results with massive stalks and larger heads?
Hey! Thanks for your comment! God bless you 🙏🏻 ! I put the seeds in soil but compost all around it and underneath it. It was a good $10-30 worth per flower so don’t be stingy if you can help it. I also make sure to space them out pretty good otherwise they’ll be competing. I think you’ll be fine with your setup but I also want to say I bought my seeds from momshomeandgarden eBay, so it’s possible theirs are just really good quality. A good seed will go a long way. Good luck and let me know how it goes!!.
I had three gorgeous titans growing this summer until a couple days ago when my prize 13.5' one was blown over and killed (stalk broke at the base) by the wind. I had a metal & fiberglass stake it was secured to (same one your boy is carrying at 2:36 actually), but apparently not secured enough, as the tie I was using broke. Thinking next year I'll use soft ties and put one on every 1.5-2' up the stalk along with supporting the stake with another one set into the ground at an angle that the wind will push the weight against when it blows (then with my luck involving wind, Spokane will probably get its first tornado).
That makes the video difficult to watch for me. I want to learn to garden, but my ancestors were killed in the name of Christ and the church’s expansion throughout the world. My people were slaughtered in the name of Christ. Millions of human lives were slaughtered, molested, and cities burned down in the name of Christ… Please never forget that ❤
I have started some sf seeds in little starter cells they popped up fast,How deep should I losen the soil? I'm digging a new bed. Thanks Was helpful vid.
Thanks! Honestly they can go down 4-10 ft depending on the type, so you could go as deep as you can. But also, SF and incredibly durable so you don’t really need to if you didn’t want to
It’s an ongoing battle. The small ones I put chicken wire cloches around for the rabbits, it works. Once they get bigger they’re OK. I still haven’t figured out how to keep the bugs away but they’re so big they bounce back pretty well
I haven’t figured it out. Some say (for them) lemon water…, Walmart has Captain Jack’s spray and even amazon has mighty mint peppermint oil spray..: it will depend on what bugs but try different sprays out and hopefully you’ll figure out what it is. ALSO, Chicken wire is good because lots of animals like them too (bunnies!)
You can learn a lot more about God by visiting your local hospital where he is apparently torturing children to death with cancer. Great tips on sunflowers though. Ty

@@BoldFollowerWhy doesn’t the Bible say anything about electricity, about DNA, or about the actual age and size of the universe? What about a cure for cancer? Millions of people are dying horribly from cancer at this very moment, many of them children. When we fully understand the biology of cancer, this understanding will surely be reducible to a few pages of text. Why aren’t these pages, or anything remotely like them, found in the Bible? The Bible is a very big book. There was room for God to instruct us on how to keep slaves and sacrifice a wide variety of animals. @@acceleratorgaming oh, you can leave it up to see if it develops. If so, keep the seeds separate just in case they’re duds. I had something similar happen and I usually just cut it down and do something else in its place but I also have very little space so it’s up to you

We have no water. It's so dry. But this year we had two hurricanes feeding us tons of water. I planted cover crops that has helped the hard ground

They’ll grow in anything but they just wont be as big ruclips.net/video/7GhgMwY1HJs/видео.htmlsi=c8CF_pXhz2J-vX6p
Would look good in a large field. I see a new movie concept, 'Children of the Sunflower', those tiny hairs would cause some grief
