For some reason the thumbnail gave Uldaman vibes, and I was just sure the video was going to be about the Discs of Norgannon, forgetting entirely that the discs in question are just sitting out looking like a baby's teething keyring toy.
That's your April fools video idea for next year. "The Greatest Chests in WoW" make the thumbnail like a lewd drawing of Sylvanas or Jaina and just make it about actual chests, like treasure boxes
I checked Azuregos' wiki page and found this funny: "After the death of Malygos, Deathwing sent agents to assassinate the rest of the weakened blue flight. When adventurers sought him out on behalf of Kalecgos, they learned that Azuregos had not been seen since a group of bloodthirsty adventurers came through on some sort of quest to make a now-useless quiver"
It's very cozy to hear someone actually talk about the immersive elements of these questlines, as a lot of people tend to just forgo reading into what you are actually doing. These class specific quest have always been such a great element of WoW for me - it both sets you up for more class fantasy, but as well revealing lore about the world. Just so great! Great video once again Verigan, this is now my second favorite; the first being the Verigan's Fist video ;)
Videos like this serve as a great reminder of the kinds of personal stories Classic WoW let people experience, legendary feelings quests for power in a giant world of people. Such a gem.
The fact things like Blackrock were not just linear roads from room to room but actual dungeons with hidden areas such as the bar, more things to unlock by gaining keys to doors and had a raid entrance inside the dungeon for it's epic conclusion. Unseen to this day.
there's so many amazing side stories and secrets in retail too, it's just that no one cares about it anymore except lore ppl , majority of retail players just want to do keys and flex about their score
I've never found a channel that I felt the need to set up a membership for before, but your style of storytelling is so captivating that I just can't get enough! Your videos capture the sense of wonder that I've been missing for years whenever I go back to playing WoW, and the delivery is so comfortably nostalgic. Truly one of the best content creators I've had the pleasure of stumbling into.
Couldn't have said it better myself! This is my comfort channel nowadays, it feels like back in 2006 and I'm 11 again running around in Elwynn Forest with my friend being excited to buy "Gladius" from the Blacksmith in Goldshire for 5 silver.
I got the leaf back in 2005 and that launched the most epic quest I completed in WoW. Thanks to my guild mates, I was able to feel like an adventurous hunter wearing the staff, bow, and quiver to go along with all of my treasured gear from the Molten Core, Blackwing Lair, and Onyxia's lair! Several years later, I quit before the Cataclysm and never got any legendary items, so this was the closest I ever got.
I am sincerely grateful that you create these videos and share them with us in such quality. I think you're one of the best, your content warms my soul.
I don't remember who said it but it's 100% true: "Given the opportunity, players will optimize the fun out of a game.". Especially when it comes to multiplayer games. And it's nothing new because it was a thing since vanilla, the only thing that changed is that there is more information sources online, things are better catalogued and more people know about those sources. It's interesting to me that the ancients refer to Archimonde marching on Hyjal 10,000 years ago. Archimonde famously marched on Hyjal at the conclusion of the Third War-4 years ago as of the start of World of Warcraft. Archimonde also invaded Azeroth during the War of the Ancients 10,000 years ago, but as far as I can see, this is the only reference to him marching on Hyjal. The Legion's real goal was the Well of Eternity, and Hyjal didn't actually have much going on until after the Sundering-in which the Well of Eternity was reborn on Mount Hyjal. This is why Archimonde attacked Hyjal in the 3rd war, and I don't see a lot of reason for him to go after Hyjal prior to the well/world tree being there.
the leaf was the first ever epic item i received in vanilla wow. and while it would be months before I had finished the questline, i remember so much of the fantasy and anticipation before fighting each demon. so much research and prep went into the fights, with the reward meaning even more to those who finally hand everything into the ancients. such a perfect quest
I am a Priest main and completing this questline and obtaining Benediction/Anathema is one of the most rewarding experiences in WoW for me. I was the 7th or 8th Priest in my guild back then who got the eye. But the wait and patience was definetly worth it. It felt amazing to equip this very special staff!
I only joined wow just before TBC (stopped after cata) launched but I often remember pondering about those trees or the area in the plague lands. The wandering NPC's. So amazing and interesting to see what it was all for. So yes, TBC is my nostalgia pill and many an epic quest and raid was had, but something wonderful about early wow vanallia and how fun it must have been to discover all this for the first time at the time.

Having done both of these 20 years ago, this brought back great memories. And as a hunter main, getting my staff, bow and quiver, was something i'll cherrish forever.
Like Anathema and Benediction, Lok and Rhok Delar could transform into each other, but this was bugged with scope enchantments. Lok'Delar also, always had a placeholder model that they never bothered to change, but Rhok'Delar they updated with the flower and mushroom blooming effect. Also, you should have specifically said that pets were not allowed on the demon slaying quests. We didn't get quest and solo challenge content like this until Mists of Pandaria with Green Fire for warlocks, and then only in legion for all the classes.
I didn't get the full vanilla experience until 2021, yet it's far and away the best video game I've ever played. So flavorful. Great video man, can't wait to see more.
When the vision showed a lone woman battling against undead, I first thought it was Mara Fordragon, but I guess that was too early and those were just death knights.
I will never forget this chest and the Ancient Petrified Leaf that my hunter got and subsequently the legendary weapons from it's quest. Thank you for covering this!

After some 15 years, I came back to WoW. And looking for community and nostalgia, I decided to play HC. It is... different. And I am scared of dungeons like no other. These quests have beautiful lore and I am thinking baout how much of an accomplishment it must be to succeed at them in HC. It would be like being an actual hero in a fantasy world. No saves, no reloads.
One funny thing about this chest, and how seeing it in on a thumbnail gave me different kind of nostalgia. There was a private everyone-GM server, and we could not spawn in gameobjects, but we *could* cast any spell. There exists a spell that creates this chest, and we used it quite extensively to create... parkour jumping courses. Never knew what the chest was actually from.
As someone who played a shaman, i always wondered about the hunter quest npc's. I would see them in the world and just think, "thats funny" or "weird name" and go back to what i was doing. Nice to finally know their purpose
I did the bow quest on my hunter alt back in 2006, and I came back to classic last year and did the priest Benediction quest. Both were challenging and fun, I know you can cheese the priest quest if you bring another priest with you that has their own eye, but I was determined to solo it

you can see the ghost without the eye , with the scholomance trinket and even do the quest , and like for the hunter quest you can do that quest for another priest in you party ,but still both eye for the staff of course ;)
I never got around to doing Benediction way back when, other priests got priority on it (including the shadow priest, oof), but I did end up getting around to it in TBC! The quest was obviously easier, but glad I actually did it and still mog it until this day. I also thought initially this was the Uldaman chest with the discs in.. oops.
I remember helping a hunter in silithus with this quest. Just gave him health stones and tried to clear the adds from the area. I wish I had a hunter/priest to do these quest myself!
I was lucky enough to complete the hunter quest line and get Rhok'delar and Lok'delar shortly before Cataclysm launched and they were removed from the game. Obviously it wasn't as epic as doing it at level 60, but there have been very few quests since then that made me feel the same way.

Huh. I played vanilla wow, when it was released, and my priest had benediction (still has, though I haven't logged onto her since BC). Though, now that I'm thinking about it, it might have been multiple groups, so you had to run back and get a new group? Gah, it was so long ago.

It's a new item like the other two, but unfortunately you just combine it with Implacable Blackguard and you get a new weapon called the Shadowflame Sword. There's no quests and it gives you no clues so people had to just brute force random weapons I guess which sucks. Better than nothing though!

1:38 looks like a face, like Bucks face from Ace Age as if leaf was on the other eye, congratz now you to cannot unsee it lol
It was an awesome Moment to get benediction
I know it's a bit unrelated but, I wonder what the rogue quest item questline is like, in SoD its a new similar item, from the same chest
Also I hear that cheeky AoM retold soundtrack ! Game's really great guessing you have been enjoying it recently?
It's a new item like the other two, but unfortunately you just combine it with Implacable Blackguard and you get a new weapon called the Shadowflame Sword. There's no quests and it gives you no clues so people had to just brute force random weapons I guess which sucks.
Better than nothing though!
Oh yeah, been loving AoM Retold recently - already finished the campaigns and am chilling out with friends on it some nights
Also, crazy coincidence, I watch your streams sometimes! I was watching you yesterday haha - remember you saying you'd take tommorow (today) off, didn't think you'd watch one of my videos!
Just installed Call of Chernobyl IWP last night, going to see what all the fuss is about! Anyway, great streams!
@@Veriganic oh wow, no way, small internet out there, I've seen your vids pop up here and there last year, very cool ! AoM is great, and yeah today was a day off... IWP is some of the best weapon packs out there it seems, at the moment so enjoy that part !
