I have a question. I did a trans go shift kit in my 95 corvette 4l60e now it has no reverse and blew the shift servo out the side. What made reverse not work

I'm not a transmission expert but from the videos I have watched most no reverse are sun shell failures. I wonder how many 4L60E transmissions does your shop do in a year on average? What are the other no reverse causes of failures? Thanks for the video.

I just had this happen on my 01 jimmy. I can hear the stripped bearing when I put it into reverse, barely have second gear also. Gotta be the sunshell reactor. I still was able to get it home. Do you have a good list of parts. I would like to tackle this project myself? Thank you.
If the hard parts look new it’s far cheaper to put new bushings ,bearings, seals and what ever is wore out for maybe 500-800 in parts vs changing out every single item it would be like 5k+
What is a rough cost of a rebuild of a transmission like that. I see he broke the shell and you mentioned a going with a harden one also. My reverse went out and I don't even play around in my car. She has 87k miles on her but i guess it was her time to go. She is a 2002 camaro though so it's not like it is just a few years old. I'm going to try a fluid and filter change first but it will probably not fix it.
I JUST SWAPPED a l77 so ofc I threw in a huge cam and 3k stall into my tans am but I decided I add some trans fluid it was no more than a quart and it was going all the way up the stick and I couldn’t move in any gear
@@mikeverything4098 No it didn't work. After changing the fluid and filter and then brought it up to temperature and made sure it was full. I took it down the road and I had to let off the gas to get it to shift put of 1st but then it would only get up to 50 MPH. It was like it wouldn't shift into that last gear. One I turned the car around and came home I just sat and listened to it. Everything sounds good when in forward, but nothing in reverse. There is a whining sound while in park and neutral. I just gave up on it, I don't think it's nothing too serious but i didnt want to mess it up worse than it is.
@@mikeverything4098 it kind of sounds like my pump is starving for fluid. I have asked around about priming the pump and nobody has ever heard of someone doing it.
@@bbay1977 damn the pump that seems like a lot of work I would have to be 10000% sure it was that before I ripped it apart.tbh if it doesn’t move tommrow when I try it then ima just get a new tranny
I have a question… what if my trucks tranny looked fine other than the clutches and steels i rebuilt it and its only going forward in every gear including park except the parking pawl stops it from going forward. It is pissing fluid rn But im gonna fix that. Its coming from the pump gasket or torque converter seal. Anyways could you have any answers on why it has no gear inputs even with a new park/neutral saftey sensor it doesnt but its curious to me that it drives in every gear including neutral. I don’t understand what i did. Wrong. I put everything together the same way it came out i followed each clutch/steel exactly how it came out but still doesnt act right
I saw the reason behind all forward on a forum the other day..I think it was ls1 forum..let me know what you figured happened..buddy of mines is doing that as well.

I have a 98 blazer with a 4l60e transmission. Would only go about 20miles per hour. I did a fluid and filter change and it shifts perfectly! But after I did the filter and fluid change about a day later I have no reverse!! Do you Think I should do another filter and fluid change? Or maybe change a solenoid? Kinda at a loss .

Apparently a transmission rebuild is not an actual rebuild. I thought all of the internals were replaced, hmmm?

why would only the low/reverse clutches be burned in a 4l60e ? thanks
