Thank you so much!!!!I had this machine forever and was threading it all wrong!!!! It works great now and my thread isn’t breaking anymore. Great instructions ❤️
Thank you so much! I just received my mother's old sewing machine and of course, there was no manual. I was doing fine until the bobbin thread ran out while sewing on my daughter's girl scout patches. You helped me out tremendously!
thank you so much for this. i just bought this machine and have never owned one before. putting the bottom bobbin in was so hard for me at first but this was easy!! thank you
Love this! I’m 12 and for my birthday my grandma got me a sewing machine I really wanted to try but couldn’t figure it out thanks so much it really helped ❤
Thank you so much! Even the Brother instructional video did not help as much.. YOU GOT RIGHT UP ON the tension threading for us to see and I really appreciate that because that is the part that was not clear (and different than mine) on the Brother's video. Yours was the same in appearance and was FAR more clear to see what you were doing. I am excited now to try out my new machine!
Thank you so much! You got right to the point, and explained everything so well! I just got this model for christmas and haven’t used one in at least 17 years, ha!
Thank you! My mom has the same sewing machine and this is about my 2nd time using it but this time I’m getting it ready myself. This was super helpful! I tried calling my mom so this was the second best thing to do lol
"I'm gonna trim the rest of my little tail off here." Couldn't help chuckling. But I also have a Brother and you have the kind of clear presentation if am looking for. Thanks!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! The instructions were not clear on the step you made so easy by holding your finger down to properly feed the bobbin into place. You made it so simple
I have a new brother...the cheapest one...I replaced one I have used for years (only when I NEEDed it so not an expert by any means. When I needed it, it worked. I knew how to navigate it). I have had this “new” machine for 2yr now and get so fed up each time I try that I’ve hand sewn every necessary project and avoided ALL “leisure” projects I would just love to do. It makes me sad lol. I think the tension on my bobbin is messed up. I’ve watched videos time and again. Here I want to make face masks and have every single thing I need except the knowledge of that dang machine. I almost bought a different one but then figured it wouldn’t be much different. Somehow I have GOT to figure this thing out. I’m trying again this weekend. Wish me luck!
This is extremely helpfull because I got a new sewing machine and I had no idea how to put the bobbin in it!! Lol 😂 EDIT 5 hours later: I finished a whole quilt top in 4 hours. Would have been shorter if I didn't need to use a seem ripper. Lol.
You made me cry. I can't even sew a straight stich because either my bobbin is messed up or my tension is, and now I've messed with the tension and stitch length so much I just want to give up. p. s. I'm not a sewer. Could you tell?
After several failed tries I found this video. Single most important tip for me was to hang on to the end of the thread when you start. I thought the machine took care of that. 😖 It does so much else!
Well guess what? You made this so easy! I figured out that you a Were doing what Brother referred to as quick set. Their video and the illustrations in their manual are clear as mud. So I pitched that to one side, went back to your video, and I've been sewing for an hour. Too bad I cut off the last three inches of my apron thinking it was a neck strap. 🤦I'm going to try and attach it back to the apron with rick rack or something... But hey! I didn't give up! 💪
Do you have a threading video for this machine? I like the playlist you did on the Singer Stitch quick stitch. I did not see a playlist for this Brother. Did i miss it? Thanks 💾Lisa♿
Thank you. But I’m finding it hard to see any video that shows how to actually begin sewing after inserting your bobbin correctly. How do I get the thread into the needle to start?
Here is a video on how to thread the needle:. ruclips.net/video/2x2LE7Agwa8/видео.html Here is a longer, full tutorial video: ruclips.net/video/-yvcu2zXj54/видео.html
What number do you set the large dial ( by the hand wheel ) at for a good straight stitch on cotton ? And what number do you set it at on the small dial ( above needle ) To get a good tension..so thread doesn't knot up under neath on cotton fabric ? Thank You
We have the same machine and I can't get it to wind continuously the bobbin just keeps spinning in place. But the thread won't wind around it. I have read the manuel serval times I know there's a up and don't and the lines have to match. I even bought new bobnins. Feeling very frustrated
Ensure you are feeding the end of the thread through the top hole of the bobbin. Hold the tail of the thread in place when you first start winding the bobbin. Otherwise, it won't catch on the spool.
Ensure that the plastic stem on the top right of the machine is fully snapped over to the right. You may want to try snapping it back to the left and then to the right again.
I was gifted a Brother SM1704. I bought the missing accessories directly from brother. I've been following the instructions for inserting the bobbin but, the needle won't catch the thread when I attempt to sew. Please help. I've called brother and they say to take it to be serviced. I can't afford it.
Hi! I put the thread through the bobbin and placed it where you instructed, held the thread up, and pressed the foot, but what happened was the needle started moving up and down, the bobbin isn't getting filled with thread. I'm so confused! Can someone help? thanks.
Thanks for sharing. I am trying to buy a walking foot for this machine. Never used one before. Do you have any suggestions on buying a walking foot for this machine. Thanks again.
What I can't understand is how to use the quick set bobbin. Is that what you just showed? I was so upset after trying to watch the video, and worse understanding their drawing of what to do, I was at the verge of tears. My husband was no help. He laughed and said it sounds like I need a week's vacation. 😂
Thank you so much!!!!I had this machine forever and was threading it all wrong!!!! It works great now and my thread isn’t breaking anymore. Great instructions ❤️
I was doing it COMPLETELY wrong. Thanks for the easy instructions!!
Such easy to understand instructions and visuals. She's a great 'teacher'
Thank you so much! I just received my mother's old sewing machine and of course, there was no manual. I was doing fine until the bobbin thread ran out while sewing on my daughter's girl scout patches. You helped me out tremendously!
thank you so much for this. i just bought this machine and have never owned one before. putting the bottom bobbin in was so hard for me at first but this was easy!! thank you
Thank you kind internet lady for saving my sewing machine from breaking every time I use it
Oh my goodness I've been doing it all wrong! And I struggled with just this bobbin and just about gave up! Mahalo from Hawaii!
Love this! I’m 12 and for my birthday my grandma got me a sewing machine I really wanted to try but couldn’t figure it out thanks so much it really helped ❤
You can do it!

Thanks! I now live overseas. All the directions were in Turkish & my interpreter doesn't sew. Now all is great!
Thank you so much for this! My mom doesn’t live near me and learning this machine on my own has been tough.
You are so welcome! Happy sewing!
"I'm gonna trim the rest of my little tail off here." Couldn't help chuckling. But I also have a Brother and you have the kind of clear presentation if am looking for. Thanks!
Thank you for the video. It reminds me of when I was younger in my home eck class, I'm really excited to start sewing now 😊
Thank you! I can do this easily on my Mom's old Featherweight, but I've been having trouble with this.
Thank you so much I don’t know how to thread a bobbin that really helped ❤❤
Glad I could help!
You have a loving genlt way of demonstrating. Thank you soooo much!
Wow, thank you! This is still my favorite sewing machine!
I forever have issues putting the bobbin in the thingy???? So this was very helpful!😊
Thank you, thank you, thank you! The instructions were not clear on the step you made so easy by holding your finger down to properly feed the bobbin into place. You made it so simple
Thank you! My instructions weren't as clear as you and I couldn;t figure out how to load the bobbin
Thank you so much been stressing for about 5 hours now. God bless you ❤️🥰
Thank you so much. I thought I was doing it wrong but you have given me confidence to Sew Away!🌼😊☺🌼🌼
I am the ONLY one that cannot get this to work. It is just not sliding thru there. Very frustrating.

Glad it was helpful!
my daughter loves to sew and this viedo made it so easy for her thank you
Thank you. This really helps. The diagram on my machine is very small and I cant see it properly so this helps a lot. Thank you

What setting do i need to put my machine on? i can't get it to actually thread. I'm so lost.
What I missed was the part at the end, where you push the stick that the bobbin is sitting on to the right, hope that helps!
This is extremely helpfull because I got a new sewing machine and I had no idea how to put the bobbin in it!! Lol 😂

Thank you! Very easy for this guy to do because of you! Now on to next sewing steps wish me luck!
After several failed tries I found this video. Single most important tip for me was to hang on to the end of the thread when you start. I thought the machine took care of that. 😖 It does so much else!

I don't have the groove on my Brother LX17. I do find inserting the bobbin a real pain. The line drawings that came with the machine are very unclear.
This was sooooo helpful
Glad it was helpful 😀
i done it all but when i push the pedal the needle moves and the top doesnt

Another well done instructional video.
Their video was helpful but when I press my foot it just goes to the needle and doesn’t thread my bobbin
Ensure that the plastic stem on the top right of the machine is fully snapped over to the right. You may want to try snapping it back to the left and then to the right again.

What setting is the machine on to do the bobbin
You are definitely an angel thank you so much!!
This was so helpful! Mahalo!

Snap the stem for the bobbin reel to the left and sharply back over to the right again... Sometimes the bobbin reel does not engage the first time.
@@Jean78578 thank you so much!
You dont need to use a bobbin cover?
Thanks for sharing. I am trying to buy a walking foot for this machine. Never used one before. Do you have any suggestions on buying a walking foot for this machine. Thanks again.
I would try the honeysew foot for low-shank machines available on Amazon.
