Best instructional video on youtube for threading the bobbin! Super concise and realistic pace. Her voice is not annoying, like many other sewing tutorials.
Kandia, this has been the most brilliant demo I have come across on the internet. I’ve been gifted this machine by one of my nieces to teach myself to sew. So exciting! Thank you so much! You’re God send. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I failed sewing my senior year of high school, it was sooooo bad my sewing teacher told me to give it up and she would give me credit and pass me from her class if I brought in something home cooked for her and I to share and talk while the other students were doing their projects and on Fridays I brought in baked goods for the entire class, I ended up getting an "A" but I've always wanted to really try to sew so I brought myself a sewing machine for christmas. I felt like I was in high school again because I couldn't wind the thread or change the bobbin without my husband (who has a gift with painting, drawing, and all types of needlework including sewing) doing it for me, but I was determined to learn on my own and thanks to your video I DID IT!!! You'd think I found the cure for small pox the way I was jumping around and dancing!!! Thank you so much, I subscribed and know that you are THE BEST sewing instructor EVER!!!!! Do you do online classes? If so where do I sign up????
I too have my husband set the machine up when I used it..the 2 Times I used it Lol it's my mother in-laws actually but I'd like to have my own for quilting and clothes making one day. Glad I'm not the only one who's husband does this though lol
Thank you for this! I'm a grandpa that is raising a 7 year old girl and I'm trying to help to teach her to sew. However, I don't know how either so you're teaching both of us! You're a godsend!
I have not had this machine for very long and anytime I have a problem I come to your page!! Just wanted to say THANK YOU!! Needless to say, I have subscribed!! :)

kandi, THANK YOU so much...I bought my sewing machine CE4400 almost a year ago and was intimidated about even touching it. but after seeing your threading videos, I gained confidence to step out and I did it!!!! I'm sooooo geeked right now!

oh my goodness I am so grateful for this tutorial!! I was thinking there was something wrong with my sewing machine, but it was how I was threading the bobbin the whole time. I followed along with your tutorial and everything I sewed after came out perfect!! thank you so much!! I have subscribed to you after watching this. I've been sewing since I was young when Fabric was cheap I made my Daughter's clothes then store bought became cheaper they are in their late 40's now. Pillow covers only come in one size now and no longer fit smaller pillow sizes I decided to remedy that by downsizing them. My granddaughter got me a new machine and the directions made no sense. Thank you for doing these totorials. It's amazing how much you forget when you're closer to 70 than 60.
Thank you so much. I’m a newbie, and I was struggling so hard I just wanted to give up, and the manual wasn’t cutting it. And then I thought of RUclips, and I found you! It was exactly what I needed, so informative and helpful! Thank you so much!!
i feel like Kim Fields just taught me how to thread my bobbin. you sound so similar to her! thank you for a great easy tutorial. who needs the handbook? lol
I want to thank you for your tutorial. I had no clue how to thread my sewing machine, and needed to sew my rank patches onto my uniforms. Your guide was very detailed and easy to follow along. I highly appreciate your help!
I got this sewing machine second hand from a thrift shop (It was only missing one replaceable part!) but no manual. I didn't even know the spool thing even popped out like that, I've been using it pressed down and was wondering why my bobbins wouldn't thread right! Haha, thank you so much for this video!
I have this exact machine and thought refilling and replacing the bobbin was so complicated. Took me two seconds after this video! Thank you so much. Totally subscribing.
I am a librarian and use our library sewing machine maybe once a year. Every time I come back and reference your videos, because this sewing machine is so different from mine! Thank you for the great tutorials.
This is the first videos of yours I have watched. I love how much I can see the thread! The gorgeous pink nail polish really helps contrast. My eyesight isn’t great and this is so easy to see. Thank you so much!!!
This was so helpful. You were clear and concise, and after years of being shown this time and time again by my mother, this is the first time I’ve managed it all by myself! I am absurdly proud. Now to thread the machine.
Kandia, you are a great teacher! I really like it when you say "Let's take a closer look" and provide a close up detailed description. Thank you so much for your help.
just ordered this sewing machine! Your video is great! I am partially blind and this video was so helpful! Simple and I liked how you zoomed in on what you were doing! :)

It has been 10+ years since I used a sewing machine and mine always jammed. My mom says I probably didn't thread it or load the bobbin correctly. Thank you for the detailed, clear tutorial!
Thank you very much for the concise verbal instruction and crystal clear camera work. It is great that you always state the "how", "why" and "what" that so many other are missing.
Me and my mom were able to figure out how to setup the sewing machine because of your video. We are making masks! Thank you so much for your help Kandia!
Thank You. I just got a Brother sewing machine last week for my Birthday so I can do DIYs & upcycling. I needed your video. The one that came with my machine (Affectionately named Stitches), put me to sleep ... New Sub!!!
Wow!! I had my same machine in my closet for a few years. I don’t have the manual. I was having a difficult time with the bobbin. But thank God I came across your video. Very well explanation. Thanks a bunch. Blessings!!

KANDIA-----Oh my goodness, THANK YOU!! This is the exact model I have, JX2517. The instruction manual is SO hard to understand, they assume you know SOME basics. I'm absolutely NEW ...took me 1 1/2 hrs to load the bobbin into the bottom, STILL didn't get it right! Going to try it in a minute! Hope you have a video on the upper threading (think I did that right though)! Looking forward to your other videos!
You are a super hero! Thank you so much! I haven't even looked at my machine in years and I couldn't remember how it worked at all, so you've made it useful again.
You did a wonderful job demonstrating this topic. Thank you. I'm going to show this one to my daughter who is a beginner--I think you can teach her better than me!
Thanks so much for all the details, I Have never used a sewing machine before. Just got it and not even opened yet and this instruction really helps a lot. By the way, do u have a video showing how to use the machine? Thanks.
Thank you, for watching my video and leaving feedback! I have more videos on this sewing machine doing projects but not a specific video on how to use it! Thank you, for the new video idea!

You are great at explaining this! I did it after having this machine sitting in a box for like 4 years because I couldn’t figure out what to do, so thank you!
during this corona virus pandemic & quarantine my local cancer center is in need of some masks and I have been sewing like crazy! and this sewing machine has held really well through all the layers of fabric! you know something.. after so many years using this sewing machine I just noticed that it has a blade for the bobbin! all this time I have been using it wrong! I used to own an old singer for years! I figured it was the same way! thank you very much for your very well explained tutorial! God bless! stay safe!
Thank you so much for your tutorial! You are so awesome at explaining things in a way that even I, as a beginner, can understand. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

My daughter and I just fixed her friends' sewing machine by watching your video. We found a serious problem with the bobbin holder inside the machine, and now it's fixed. We are going to look like Santa!
Wow! A very detailed and informative video. Thank you so much, Kandia, for all your time and efforts with your videos and work. I definitely subscribed and am looking forward for more videos. Again, thank you so much! Hope you have a great day and holiday season! Take care!
Aww! Thank you, for taking the time to watch my videos! It does take some work to make them but its so important to share what we know so it can help others, right? And so.. there will be many more videos to come in 2017! Thanks again for your support!
Thank you so much! I have been trying to figure this out and then I found your channel! So many of your videos have helped me! I really appreciate how specific and thoughtful you are! Thank you. I subscribed and liked.
thank you so much!my baby brothers birthday is tomorrow and i was sewing his decorations when my bobbin thread came undone. i had to work quickly because i only have so much time. your video helped me a LOT so i subscribed to help YOU.
I really appreciate these videos. I'm here bumbling around with a cruddy " quilt" from wish that I ended up using the flat sheet and " quilt" with batting to make my niece an actual quilt. I'm not a sewing machine person unfortunately. Great videos. Very informative and detailed but not a lot of yammering like many RUclips videos :| lol good stuff.
I have one of these machines, I followed the directions AND your video EXACTLY. When I begin to sew the threads get all mixed up and it starts to jam.. how can I fix this?
+MoneyManHolmes - Hello! I'm soo sorry you are having a challenging time with this model! Hopefully, this message does not reach you before you are discouraged! I would try, #1 changing the needle... Dull needles can cause the threads to shed sometimes. # changing the thread brand.... In my opinion, Brother machines - including embroidery machines DOES NOT LIKE COATS & CLARK brand thread. This is the thread sold at Walmart, primarily. Brother machines also become fussy with Sulky Brand thread. I would change the thread to a higher quality. #3 Consider, the bobbin incorrectly loaded. Make sure the bobbin is inserted correctly with the thread sliding through the slit and around the track. Sometimes its easy to miss this step. #4 Contact Brother. They may be able to trouble shoot the problem better than I am. #5 Make a short video of your problem, so I can see what is happening in order to give you a better response. I hope one of these suggestions helps! Keep me posted!

Tawnee Szczepanek Same! then I did get it right, but thought I was missing the bobbin holder. I was undoing it all night. surely this can't be all there is....? yes! look at that! LoL
XoXo Thank you so much. I'm just learning again after 40+years. The coronavirus has made it necessary. I felt like I gotta do my part. Thank you for the help We're in this together.

My first time using a sewing machine and your video is super helpful. Thank you so much. Loved every details
Thanks Kandia!! I am a newbie and this was an awesome video to help me get started
Thank you !! Just the video I needed.
Thank you, for watching!
I have one of these machines, I followed the directions AND your video EXACTLY. When I begin to sew the threads get all mixed up and it starts to jam.. how can I fix this?
+MariaWoods99 Same here...

+Tawnee Szczepanek - I'm sew happy my video was able to help you! Although there may be duplicates of videos for the same sewing machine on RUclips, sometimes a closer shot or added step helps understanding the process much easier. Thanks for watching!
