I'm so sorry for ghosting my RUclips channel - it has been a YEAR.
2024 isn't going exactly how we planned (story of my life) but here's the update! We have credit card debt now. In this video, I explain what happened and what our plan is to repay our debt.

I’m embarrassed to share how bad our debt is between credit cards and loans. I just hope that life allows us to start knocking it down.
I know it's scary but you shouldn't be embarrassed! Life is tough and things happen.
You made the absolute right decision to make sure your family is taken care of. Life definitely can get chaotic and you feel you never get a break but just stop and breathe and know that you have done a great job in making sure your family is safe. Dude. I feel you. I just had an emergency dental procedure done on my teeth. And of course dental work is expensive as hell in America. So i’m back $8200 in debt for my teeth!!! I had $1000 saved so that brought it down to $7200. But it’s so frustrating debt payoff journeys are not linear. Life happens and you have to pivot. My life is so hard and i’m just a single person (no spouse, no kids) like wtf. Life is so difficult and expensive.

You have such a great plan to get it paid off and look how much you just paid! That is incredible!! Also- you talking about this crawl space has blown my mindddd. In MS we don’t have these at all!!!! Paying 5k towards that card is no small feat! I imagine if you’re still able to pay $300/mo then the interest part will be about $100 so at least more will be going towards the balance. You totally got this!

Hi, new subbie here, being a homeowner is a blessing and can suck when things have to get fixed especially if it wasn’t told to you when you got it. I have to put up window wells before the fall so the crawl space underneath doesn’t flood as well. My husband and I also have a lot of credit card debt so I’m doing savings challenges to snowball effect. It will get better -have a nice Monday ❤

I know how you feel! We do not live far apart and here in GA has been brutal. Like your family we had our AC go out and I have children and young adults who are on medication that cannot be in prolonged heat. We had to make that decision to basically empty out what we could from our savings and put the rest on an already stretched credit card. You will get through this I have confidence in you.

New subbie. We live in lower Alabama and had the same problem except for the flooding. It will flood under the house but it has to be like hurricane -tropical storm rain for days and days. So we have a company come out to give a quote and it was almost 40k. So we added more vents and then electric vents that actual push the air flow under the house under the house continuously. So we had the wood treated to kill
Any wood rot and fungus and all as been okay so far. So I feel your pain

I’m so sorry about all the issues you have had! It’s so sad that people don’t disclose things when selling a house. Have you possibly thought about getting a zero interest credit card to transfer the balance to to at least help decrease the interest?

I have 2800 in debt im putting 116 towards the minimum and 84 extra each month it sucks as someone who only gets 2200 a month
I’m so proud of you for being able to put a little bit extra towards your debt each month! Even though your income is a bit lower, you are still making progress and that’s something to celebrate 🫶🏻
Im confused, you said the inspector picked up on it so you were aware before buying or after ? Was inspection not before purchasing.
@@shambenz5965 to clarify, we had a total of 3 inspections prior to purchasing. None of them informed us of these issues in the crawl space so we purchased the home. Before we moved in our furniture, I had Orkin come out for an inspection for pest control services which included them going into the crawl space. They were the ones who informed us of the issues but it was after we signed everything. Looking back, I wish I would’ve taken legal action against the original inspectors. One of them even signed off that there was no mold when there was active mold growth in the crawl space 😕
