I used to be a planner I carried a planner all the time. Instead of a purse. But I got mad fun of. And stopped caring a planner. I fell in with bad behavior and have debt. But since I moved into my rv. I have enough money to pay back my debt. Most of them should be done by 11 2024

I don’t know if you know this about me but Jason & I travel for his job and have lived in an RV for almost 10 years. We recently have been in the same area for a while so we sold both of our RVs. I LOVE RV living- the minimalist living,less to clean- I miss it a lot of days. I am hoping to get another one soon. I’d love for Jason to take more time from work so we can visit the kids.

Awesome sauce ❤ I just made my $1000 emergency funds goal and continuing to reach $2000. I'm a family of 4 and $1000 is not enough. I had one car repair that cost over $1200 last year. Once my consumer debt is paid off I'll work on my 3 month emergency funds. I think this coming year my goal is to finish paying off my car and paying off our credit card. ❤

I looked up the inflation numbers, because I agree $1000 is not enough.
Turns out $1000 in the 1990s, which is when Dave Ramsey wrote his book, is now the equivalent of $2500 approximately.

2023 was one of my worst years and I'm determined to make 2024 much better!

Hi Jen, thank you for all of the tips you give. It has really helped me. I was so excited at Christmas because i was able to save up enough to spend $300 on each of my kids. They are adults but growing up I never had much money to buy gifts for Christmas. I think they were kind of shocked but they were so happy. Even though my son told me not to spend that much. It just made me feel good to be able to do that. I'm starting this week to save for next year. My daughter now wants to start her binders so I've shared some of your videos with her. Thanks again.
Oh, this is amazing! What a great feeling! We didn’t have much growing up, either and I think that has a lot to do with why I want to help others with saving and I also really enjoy giving to others, as well. I wasn’t able to for most of my life and it’s extremely satisfying to be able to now.

As a social worker, I tell my clients to give themselves the same grace they would give others. It is something I plan to do this year for myself

Me, too. It was so worried about him. He’s fine now. No more golf course walks - which he isn’t happy about. He keeps trying to pull me in that direction on our walks and I can’t let him go over there. It’s sad because that was our favorite walking spot.

It is a lot of work. I went through my bank statement and really looked at what I spend on. That helped me decide. 💛

Hey Jen 👋🏼, love the new setup for 2024
So I was doing so good budgeting until I got hit by a drunk driver in April unfortunately I had to take everything I had out to get my truck out of the tow yard 🙁 I struggled bouncing back then got hit again in October both my vehicles were totaled and my back got hurt so I haven’t been able to get back on track 🙁 had to buy another car. I’m hoping with taxes I can bounce back and hoping 2024 will be a lot nicer to me 🤷🏻♀️

Im sorry if you gave covered this in this video or another but, what change or petty cash do i need to get from the bank. I make 548 weekly how fo i break down into 100's, 50's, 20's etc.? Also uf i were to make due to overtime is there a forumla to use to know how to break it down? I hope this makes since.

I would do one month for a start. Like really push that month. Write down all the things you said no to and their prices. Add it up at the end - It’s shocking ! 🫣

It’s a lot. It really is.
My advice is to get your budget written down first. So you know where you are and where your money is going.

Then once you know your budget - you can either use cash envelopes for all of your expenses or just where you see you could use some help in controlling spending.
I would start with one binder. Once you begin and get the hang of it- you will want to add more. It becomes a little addicting.

Q. How do you pay all your monthly bills? Not with cash, I would think? I tuck money ( cash) away to save for emergencies and have begun to transfer a certain amount of income from my checking into savings each month. Maybe I need to keep it that simple for myself

I do not pay my bills with cash. I pay everything online. There are so many ways to do “cash stuffing”.

Good morning Jen, I want to buy an annual budget and I was wondering... I live in France, can I change the titles to French and add sections? Most of my payments are transferred from my account. I also have debts that I pay monthly and I don't always have the money in my account at the end of the month. Do you advise me to buy an annual budget or something else to start with? You don’t have to necessarily buy anything to get going. You can just use a notebook and a pen.
Have your income at top-
Write out all your expenses for the week or for the month ( whichever you choose)
And make sure every dollar you earned has a specific place to go- then stay within that budget as best as you can. Each time gets better. You will adjust and make changes as you see where you need them. Have a calendar with all your due dates written out, too.
Just get that initial organization going and watch the progress you make!
