Yeah I think the hosts and many of the commenters don't really understand the format. I've watched streams where people will send $500 and the streamer will acknowledge them by name and then read whatever message the person paying sent. That can easily add up. Even on tiktok, if you go to very popular tiktok lives, people will be constantly sending gifts, some of which can be worth up to around $500. It is very believable that someone who frequently engages in this activity could unwittingly spend thousands upon thousands of dollars.

I agree. Idk why they have a hard time believing this. 1k/week is easy to blow through, really. I used to work at bars and clubs and a lot of the men who would come in there were similarly addicted and destroying their finances. They were willing to go through a few hundred bucks in an afternoon so they could have a bouncer dap them up and a bartender greet them by name. The feeling of having a community is something we all yearn for, we just need to figure out how to channel it appropriately.

Nah, it’s not BS. There are many people like this caller. Just watch any popular streams on twitch and you will see many people gifting subscriptions to the viewers and money donations to the streamer.
