2k's progression system is so bad man. This was cool to see 2nd rounders get this good but in 2k there is no such thing as a bust. Everyone becomes at least borderline allstar level if given minutes. It makes it so predictable. After a couple of years anyone you draft will be good.

This is true, I once did a 20 year expansion team sim and in that time period i managed to develop 2 99 rated players with one of them being like a 10x consecutive MVP and DPOY. I mean it was kinda fun but ultimately very broken and unrealistic

I like to go through and nerf the benches every couple of years. Makes no sense that a 9th man is an 82 overall, 72 is more like it

I think 2k progression this year is "broken" like OP.. cuz 5-6 yrs later, there are so many good players just sitting in free agency, cuz they expect big money or the drafted players are progressing over the vets.

No rebuilding, the team HAS to be perfectly built from the fantasy draft
You get 3 different simulations to do it but you have to win a championship in the first year, without rebuilding it

I think going with a 5 man or 6 man rotation can hurt the chances of winning. I usually run an 8 man and mess with the bench depth. Just so each of my bench players gets just enough time to relieve my starters.

Kenny, 2k drafts have been like this. I know this isn’t normally how you do rebuilds, but progression is based on the potential stat mixed with performance which is tied to playtime. I’ve done hundreds of sims at this point and different people develop differently depending on their playtime and how well they do in game even if their potential might not be the highest. But at the end of the day it’s a mix and it makes it very fun and worth having late picks in the draft.

I reckon you could get every 2nd round pick in the game. You just need to make really small downgrades every time. Think Jokic -> Giannis and all SRPs. Then Giannis -> Booker and all SRPs. etc. Then all FRPs and other players individually for sure you could get hundreds

This was a great 1 you could run back later after they patch it some(just got to the part where you say you're running ut back later lol 50:35). Maybe add a cap on draft pick you bring in after the 1st year & allow yourself 1 or 2 freebie deals(1 or 2 2nd rounders you can skip giving the default rookie deals & lock them in for 3 or 4 years).

Since Kenny's been getting into golf recently and needs more 2k content I thought this would be a great idea: "I rebuilt a team playing golf" Go to a 9-hole course. For each hole you play on, you randomly select an NBA team. Depending on how many strokes you take determines which player you have to take from the random roster (e.g. hole in one = best player, eagle = second best player, birdie = third option etc. If it takes more than twelve strokes, you get the worst player on the team). You can make trades with the 9 players you got from playing golf and can only trade a player for another player (i.e you can't trade Lebron for 2 players but Lebron and Patrick Williams for 2 players is fine). 9 man rotation good luck!

do the loyalty rebuilding challenge. do a fantasy draft and start trading players. seems pretty normal right, wrong! because once u trade for a player, or sign a player out of free agency, they have to stay on ur team until u make it to the finals, which u will cuz ur “him”. u get three tries with three different teams. have fun 😁

Hi Kenny! Two tips that could really help with videos like this one
1. Pre draft workout- it really helps with scouting and gives you a better report
2. G league- send young players that you don't play to the g league and their player progression will look amazing
G League progression got nerfed at least since 2k23. May still work on last gen but it hasn't been a thing on current gen for a while, to where I'm not sure if there's any benefit at all to sending players down

Day 1 of asking for the "Pass the Torch Challenge":
Try to get fired from your position while building a roster to get to the Finals. Then after being fired, move to the worst team in the opposite Conference and rebuild that team to ultimately get to the Finals and beat your original team.
It should be interesting seeing how good you can make a team while still being fired, and prove a challenge to juggle making a great roster while still somehow making choices that will lead to you being fired, plus the added challenge of then rebuilding another team.
The overall of those sims do raise too unreasonable… Jokic and Middleton don’t always appear. They have to figure this problem out.
