You are so right, Jonas. I have an older model of that camera, and it was the first camera I ever used. It got me into filmmaking, and it was so much fun. I brought it with me all the time, and the footage was not "great", but it had its charm, it was real and raw. The zoom is also super fun to use and it is nice to not worry about settings etc. You just pick it up and start shooting. I sometimes want to make a narrative short film using only the handy cam. In a world where everything and everyone is striving for perfection, it is nice to go in the opposite direction (if that made any sense at all) :-)
I agree! I think the raw'nes of this camera is what makes it special. We're so used to high quality footage nowadays, so it's very satisfying to go against that sometimes!
A shortfilm only using handy cam sounds fun!! Go for it!
Sony kicks other brands' butt with those Carl Zeiss lenses. the also equip them with good optical zoom and real time video stabilization. ❤ I just hope the buttons don't start failing later. sony has had that downside too for many years.
