Your video was how I learned about this product, thanks! I've used mine three times so far, about 3 feet away from me in mosquito central, and mosquito magnet me hasn't gotten a single bite! It is very nice not having to coat myself in DEET to go outside.
I agree I hate putting that stuff on my body
Great video! I actually picked mine up at a thrift store. Brand new, unopened, still packaged in the box. I thought it was worth the gamble for $5.99! y. It is going to be perfect for our upcoming trip to Galveston Island, TX with our new 5th-wheel trailer (RV). Thanks for the video. It was helpful, and great tips, like saving the top to extend the life of a refill and putting it under a table. My unit is also has a light, but that seems like it will attract bugs. I am anxious to get it out!
Thank you and you know what it works good very good for small areas. Just keep that in mind.
Hey I'll add a note that when you put the cap back on the cartridge insert to keep the liquid from evaporating between uses, be careful the wick doesn't break off. Recently that happened to me, and I had to throw the cartridge out.
Noel thank you good note
20 feet diameter which means only 10 feet from the unit in any direction. Also, I wonder if it’s bad for our health to breath this stuff. Having said that…I absolutely love mine and it does work well!
Thanks Jeremy I put mine under the table but I agree, you never know.
I mean it's probably like the candles without the fire
Better than candles Rick this stuff really works for mosquitoes
I wonder what the chemical/ liquid is exactly. It seems to work but I wonder what it is
The chemical is probably Citronella oils or lemon grass extract, a natural mosquito repellant, in some countries they grow the grass and there is less Mosquitoes around, some villagers grow/ harvest and distill/ extract the oils, sold by the ounce in the Philippines, good repeat business as it is Mosquito country.
Thanks for the tutorial! Btw you really sound like Howard Stern!
Thank you Joann
I HAVE MINE AND IT WORKS GREAT FOR THE LITTLE CORNER OF MY PORCH
Consumer Reports says "Metofluthrin is a pyrethroid insecticide, very effective at repelling mosquitoes, but not friendly to humans"
I threw away th ebox and the instructions so this really helped. Thanks
Aww thank you so glad it helped
You dad uses this, idk about it all to much, the mosquitos still come, but maybe I’m not close enough, the one he has says its rated for 15 ft, the mosquitos get pretty nasty when its humid and damp.
Definitely, yeah I don't think it's 20 feet away probably more around 10 feet (20 feet across, 10 feet on both sides of the thermacell) love this and alwsys place mine on the ground under the table since my legs get torn up by mosquitoes lol
This works, but every reviewer must warn that refill is expensive and not practical for everyday use. I mean expensive; if I were to use it for a day, it would cost me over $30 or more daily.
What’s the difference between the
“9 hour battery life” version ? I came across the box that says
“9 hours” & the regular box that does not say how many Hours exactly…
Does the original one run longer or something ? Any info is appreciated, Thanks
Sorry don’t know, best bet is contacting the manufacturer sorry (866) 753-3837
Thank you it's helpful
Thank you
It’s only for outdoor, right?
Hi Yes
Will you review the toro super recycled flex force since it’s a super recycled and it’s now in cordless and I would like to see that compared to the ego
No sorry, Wish I had the budget
Difference between this and the Radius?
Hi Darth More coverage from 15 foot radius to a 20 from what I see. Radius doesn’t coverage as much but slight difference
@@TechMadeEzy Thanks for the response. So I presume just get the E55 over the Radius. That being said, with the built-in battery which obviously degrades over time, seems like, aesthetics aside, the Backpacker may still trump this machine as the ultimate solution since camping gas is cheap. Also, in the case of the Perimeter units, which take the fuel canisters, seems like you could just buy two Backpackers and strategically place them, especially since you can't leave the Perimeter units out in the sun/rain all year long anyway. Again, if aesthetics matter, get the E55. Totally on the fence about which unit to give my elderly dad for Christmas. He lives in a semi-rural area and likes to sit outside at a table that's out in the open.
Honestly if you want something small and portable and the radius would be smaller as well this is nice and it also comes in camo in other colors and no battery

Does it repel other insects?
Hi, The chemical focuses on mosquitos only
Really interested in it! But does it smell?
A little
how long the charging took?
Sorry didn't time that.
Can it charge and work at the same tome
Hi Jason I haven’t tried that
yes it does
Oh great. So we don't slather ourselves in chemicals. But now we breathe them in. Duh. Great alternative. Ever heard of how the experts said THALIDOMIDE was a wonderful thing for mothers in the 50's and 60's ?
Now where’s your Tesla
Just rented on that's all, not ready for full 100% battery yet, think I will stick with a hybrid for a short while or until I can afford. So far I like Tesla, you have a hybrid etc?
I just spent 50 bucks on mine and I'm getting eaten alive out here
Keep in mind the distance of course is going to be limited so you have to stay within the distance and you do want to make sure it’s actually on I would recommend calling the manufacturer because to me this is worked really well but for others I guess results can vary
@@TechMadeEzy well I got two bites last night in my backyard and feel trying it for the first time. I'll give it another night. In most cases when a box says 100% guaranteed it's usually bullshit. I have a gazebo with a bug tent around it. I will just go back to that and get my 50 bucks back and buy a nice bottle of wine lol
The radius really isn’t that large also when we tested it over time we practically put it under the table but not on the floor
That’s normally where we find the bugs biting. Anyway good luck and keep your receipt let me know how it goes
